Does bliss need to finish around 15th or 16th to beat Scott Speed into the race?
Re: 2013 Daytona 500
Tbh, I don't think I'll even bother watching the 2nd duel race. I just hope the Daytona 500 isn't going to be this boring.

It says the Speed qualified...

Something I wanna say to, has any driver ever in Cup history won the Shootout race, their Duel race and then the 500?

And it was just announced on MRN that the Duels will be night races in 2014. Cubicle jockeys like me rejoice!
I must have gotten confused red and white car wise. in related news, the Duel 1 Golden Cabbage Award goes to Brian Keslowski for redefining the art of slow driving, and the Silver Screwdriver award goes to Martin Truex Junior.
(the Cabbage is won for bad or slow driving, and the Screwdriver is awarded for the driver who gets screwed over most severely in the race. both awards will be given for all cup races and select Nationwide (expect Daytona, Road America, and Montreal, among others) and Truck races (expect Mosport and Eldora at the least)

Truex lost a window and was black-flagged. Speed got bumped into an automatic qualifying spot as a result. He's in.

Duel 2 Awards:
Golden Cabbage: Ryan Newman (solo spin of stupidity)
Silver Screwdriver: Fans of plate racing (screwed out of an entertaining race, we got a 3rd Michigan race instead)
yes, I did just admit to liking most plate races, both in real life and in NR2003. sure, they are crapshoots, but they are fun to watch. let's hope the 500 turns out closer to the Unlimited then either duel.

They've had lots of great battles for the win at the Duels in the past.

But again, I don't anticipate it. Is it nice when it happens? Yes, but I treat it like a practice session more than anything.

Re: 2013 Daytona 500
I have to echo a few others here by saying that I expect more risks to be taken in the 500. It's a new car; a lot of these drivers were probably using the Duels as practice.
Starting lineup video is probably coming late tomorrow or early Sunday.

I saw a (very detailed) plot to sabotage Danica's car for the 500 on some NASCAR forum a few days ago. I don't think they where joking, either. They had the proper connections to get in and everything. I am not making this up, seriously.

I guess some people hate Danica for taking pole position.

Also thats the main reason why I will never consider joining any kind of NASCAR Forum, so many dumbasses say that they're gonna do something horrible and then they may do it.

Erin Andrews doesn't belong on a NASCAR pit road. She almost walked right by Kevin Harvick before someone told her in her earpiece who he was.

It was her first time, but she loved it, I honestly would like to have her full-time for FOX, also a wild 50Cent appeared

She doesn't know anything about NASCAR...or sports for that matter. If FOX wants another female in, then get Danielle Trotta or Wendy Venturini.
Re: 2013 Daytona 500
Memo to James Franco: You didn't need to add "and Danica" to the command. "Drivers" covers her.
Another reason to keep Hollywood celebs far away from NASCAR.

Seeing a disturbing number of people standing directly behind the fence
Best text message I've received so far: "You can't see the duct tape on the fence"

Re: 2013 Daytona 500
I am surprised that no Danica Patrick fans booed Franco after the start and finish command/ extremely unfunny cheap shot. Had Patrick not driven well enough to WIN THE FREAKING POLE, it might have been kind of funny. Instead, he just came off as a complete asshole, which we already have the Bush brothers for.

Re: 2013 Daytona 500
I'm no Danica fan but Franco's "...and Danica" comment was ridiculous. You can't say that an IndyCar race winner, an Indy 500 podium finisher, and Daytona 500 pole sitter isn't a driver.
Re: 2013 Daytona 500
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he meant to say "gentlemen, and Danica". It's pretty easy to mix words up when you're on the spot.

Harvick will not complete the sweep, as Little Juan pays a visit.
Kes, Stewart, Kahne, and JPM also involved.

Looks like Busch stepped out for some air and clipped Kahne as he was getting back into the draft. Not sure what happened with Harvick, though.
