2013 Subway Firecracker 250 - Nascar Nationwide Series - Daytona International Speedway
http://www.jayski.com/news/nationwide/2013/entries/story/_/page/NNS-2013-16-Daytona-Entry-List
This is the first race at Daytona for the Nationwide drivers since the horrific accident on the frontstretch on the last lap at the season opener in February, which was won by Tony Stewart. But before, it was a fantastic race from the start.
Last week, Brad Keselowski won his 2nd NNS race of the season at Kentucky, which unfortunately was cut 30 laps because of rain.
In this very race last year, Kurt Busch won in spectacular fashion for Phoenix Racing, which was a popular victory.
What will happen this time around? We'll find out Friday night.

400?!? Don't you mean 250?!?
Then again, maybe they were expecting 20 cuppies, but haven't realized they got only 6

Johanna was supposed to run this race but both of her restrictor plate cars were trashed at both Daytona and Talladega :\

I honestly don't think it could be that, maybe her schedule had a different look this year that didn't include running the Daytona Night Race.

No, she doesn't have any superspeedway cars to race on superspeedways. how hard is that to comprehend?BWardboy88 wrote:navycook75 wrote:BWardboy88 wrote:SpiderTre wrote:Johanna was supposed to run this race but both of her restrictor plate cars were trashed at both Daytona and Talladega :\

Austin Dillon wins his sixth pole in seven races. Very impressive. Jeff Green has withdrawn his car so Dexter Stacey gets the final spot in the field. Blake Koch and Jeff Green will not race tonight.
Re: 2013 Subway Firecracker 250 - Nascar Nationwide Series - Daytona International Speedway
Anyone here want to take a guess on which lines Kurt Busch and his crew will use from Days of Thunder in tonight's race?
Speaking of Kurt, I'm tuning into the RaceBuddy and they used a line already.
"He didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you... he rubbed you. And rubbin, son, is racin'."
"I'm droppin' the hammer." "NO YOU ARE NOT!"

NASCAR messed with the rear spoilers of the cars. After what happened last February, it's kind of expected of NASCAR to try to do anything to spread apart the field...and make the racing boring, of course.

If you're watching RaceBuddy and listening to Kurt Busch's radio, you'll be getting a good laugh right now. The fact Kurt has a sheet of paper of lines he can read is hilarious.

This 3 lap dash will claim a few victims. This won't be pleasant.
Re: 2013 Subway Firecracker 250 - Nascar Nationwide Series - Daytona International Speedway
That was pretty brutal for both Travis Pastrana and Jason White. Glad to see both are okay. Though, White looks pretty beat up after getting sandwiched between the wall and Pastrana's car.

How the pack managed to stay as clean as it did baffles me, Vickers nearly caused a almighty wreck going into 4. Great save on the back straight at the back of the pack.

Remember when Superspeedway finishes weren't junkyards and nobody bitched about second place making a move?
Pepperidge Farm Remembers.
seriously though, all of you bitch about "OMG BUESCHER DIDN'T MAKE A MOVE! HE'S AN UNTALENTED HACK WHO NEEDS TO GET OUT OF NASCAR!" because all you want is a last lap pass, and when you don't get it, you go and blame second place for not making it exciting.
Most times there were a last lap pass with the tandems was because either 1-2 were teammates and they knew what they were doing, someone came from 10th to 1st because they had a good run, or the top 10 wrecks and the 11th place driver wins. When they don't you say it was either team orders, or they let off, that is then followed by a "THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO WIN SUPERSPEEDWAYS!"
pretty much what I have to say is, not every superspeedway needs to be a junkyard and buzzkill finishes happen, it's nothing new.

Best post in this thread so far. You also have to remember that Buescher was actually making an attempt on Kenseth, weaving back-and-forth, and just lost contact with Kenseth coming to the tri-oval.navycook75 wrote:Remember when Superspeedway finishes weren't junkyards and nobody bitched about second place making a move?
