- Spoiler:
- Fuel Gambles Cost Hayes, Howard Takes Points Lead
The Tom Delgado Racing teams had mixed results in their ARLA Daytona Duel, as Joseph Howard finishes 6th while Jim Hayes' repeated fuel gambles did not work out and he had to settle for 20th.
"We took a few chances with our fuel strategies, and simply put, things didn't work out. Both cars were really fast, but when you run out of fuel, you're not going to win. We took a swing at the fuel, and we missed." Tom Delgado said after the race.
Joseph Howard moved into the points lead, while Jim Hayes fell to 2nd.

Re: 2013 Race 3 & 4 (ARLA Daytona Duels)
- Spoiler:
- Underpowered BR-01 struggles on the high banks of Daytona
Brinson Engineering knew that the #12 Rundagrip BR-01 would be slow this weekend, but Daytona proved just how gutless that the Andrea 4cyl is in race trim.
Throughout the initial practice sessions, the car was among the slowest on the track and 2nd slowest through the backstretch speed trap. Driver Trey Ashby reported that the car handled well but there was simply no power to be made in low boost trim. However, in qualifying boost, the engine responded well.
Surprisingly, Ashby managed a 8th place starting spot for the team. Despite this, it was obvious that the #12 had nothing for the top contenders and soon dropped to the back. The sluggish Andrea engine relegated him to the rear of the field for the most of the day and Ashby would end up finishing 23rd for Brinson Engineering.
Brinson: "I'm not surprised we ran as poor as we did. Even with a different cylinder head design, we were way down on power in low-boost conditions (race trim). When we raised it for qualifying, we were actually quite pleased with the power gains. However, it's simply not feasible to run anything more than 35psi in race due to durability and fuel mileage thus was the decision to dial it back. I'm simply happy we made it to the finish and avoided trouble.
23rd is extremely disapointing but thankfully, this is the only superspeedway on the schedule. We're looking foward to next week at Montgomery where we plan to play into our biggest strength: cornering ability"

- Spoiler:
- Posadas extremely delighted with 4th place finish
Hotshot Racing driver Kelly Posadas drove to a well deserved 4th place finish in only her 2nd ARLA Elite Series start. After starting 5th, having some rather slow pit stops and even running off the lead draft at one point during the race. However her great ability and pace to keep up with the draft later on helped her run in the Top-3 for a couple of laps before the last round of pit stops. But she was able to work her way up to 4th following close behind Andrea Kinasa at the finish.
Posadas was well overjoyed with her finish after the race, "We may have blundered a few times during the race but we didn't complain. Our Superspeedway package has been great and it sure did pay off for me. Our team badly needed this kind of result considering the horrible time they had with Barney Ward last year, but this is definitely a result to remember for a long time for me and everyone here working for Hotshot Racing."

- Spoiler:
- Pit Strategy, Ingition Issues Plague Webster at Daytona
Following a 10th place finish in the season opener at USA International Speedway, Zack Webster was looking for another great performance to start his first competitive season in the ARLA Elite Series. Webster started off the weekend fast, including starting in the 4th position for Race 1 of the ARLA Daytona Duels. Webster made himself known early on in the race, pushing both Kiriki Hetsuno and Jim Hayes to the lead, and even catching a sniff of the lead for himself. Then at the first pitstop, the day took a complete turn for the worse after Webster stayed out on the track too many laps and ran out of gas. Due to how far he was from pit road when he ran out, Webster had to crawl to pit road to get the car serviced and wound up losing two laps. The lack of cautions during the race kept the opportunities to get those two laps back away from Webster the rest of the race. Webster's day would get worse as the ignition blew out on the 23 car in the closing stages of the race.
Webster's comments:
Pit Strategy - "Pathetic man. We had a car that was easily a top ten, maybe even a race-winning car, and we gave it all away on the first pit stop. Crew chief told me to stay out one more lap to keep from getting in that mess on pit road the lap before, and the car sputtered and shut off out of turn two. We picked up in notes from practice that we could only make it fifteen laps, and yet we still wind up running out of gas. We don't have the full schedule like most of these teams do. This team has to make the most out of the races that we are in. We absolutely cannot afford to be making idiotic mistakes if we want to have a good season with what we've got. Today was ridiculous, embarrassing, and completely unacceptable."
Ignition Issues - "Kick us while we're down, eh? We already knew that us being two laps down from the "stroke of genius" pit call had already ruined our day, and like they say, "when it rains, it pours." We'll go back to the shop this week, figure out what went wrong with the ignition, and get back out there. This team showed after the Rookie Shootout that they can fix issues and make this car competitive for the next race, and I believe without a shadow of doubt that they can do the same with this ignition issue."
Webster's next race will be at the Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Alabama. Webster will come into the race as a hometown favorite, as he resides in Tallassee, Alabama just 45 minutes northeast of Montgomery.

- Spoiler:
- More Bad Pit Strategy Plagues Yamada
Very similarly to a few races near the end of 2012, Makoto Yamada had a top notch run going, and bad pit strategy halted the top tier finish in its tracks. The team decided to gamble and leave Yamada out for an extra lap, but this strategy failed when Makoto ran out of fuel on the backstretch. As has been the trend over the past year, Yamada had little to say after the race. "The crew needs to do better math. The car was good, but the fuel mileage calculation was terrible." He promptly walked off. Yamada finished 22nd on the day after leading early.

Alexander a no-show at Daytona
Despite being on the entry list for the Daytona race, Team Quest and Gregory Alexander were a no-show for the event. When reporters asked of his whereabouts, he had this to say.
"Well, our g**damn hauler f***ing broke down in the middle of f***ing nowhere! It took a day and a half for help to arrive and it slowed us down drastically. By the time we got it fixed, we realized there was no way in hell we could make it on time, so we decided to take our losses and just head straight to Montgomery. Kind of a damn shame, since restrictor plate racing is what I'm best at, and our team's equipment is mostly suited for those types of races, so that was probably our best, if not only, chance at winning in ARLA this year. With our travel issues this week, that just went down the motherf***ing toilet.

Diamond Proud of 15th place finish in Debut
Daniel Diamond released a statement on the New World Orphans website shortly after completing the race.
Kifflom Brother Brother,
With the help of the teachings of the Epsilon Tract, I brought my human motor pod home in 15th place. Join us by calling or faxing 1-555-FUN-CULT, and travel through the dawn to the pass pictured in our brochures. Look for a red truck with a dent on the right fender. Raise your left hand and recite the words: "Take me to to my father-father, brother-uncle. Kifflom." We'll do the rest. Because we all know, there is Kifflom and there is Krant, and both be praised.*

JINX Racing Daytona Press Conference
After a solid qualifying run and a good show of power in the race, JINX Racing's #85 still failed to finish due to a broken clutch. That left the #85 with a 25th place result.
"The car was great! It was an absolute blast driving such a powerful car. I could have easily won that race had the clutch not given up on me. I can't wait to get out there again and showcase some more of Lycoia's Power plants. Have fun next week everyone." Jinx Rodriguez

Murphy's Law apparent when it comes to Terra Intl. Motorsports.
If it can go wrong, it has gone wrong. With Megan Driver and Jack Dempsey starting in the second race. It seems that luck would not be on the two drivers as they had to deal with the idiocy of other drivers. Driver, who drives the #40 McGee's Interceptor, was rear-ended by several drivers, one going so far as blaming it as a 'brake failure'. Dempsey on the other hand had a car turned right in front of him while heading down pit lane. Dempsey of course would finish a lap off the pace while Driver was able to recover and come home 12th.

Monroe injured in accident
Kevin Monroe is expected to miss the next three race weekends after suffering a back injury in his accident during the second round.
Monroe drifted up the track on the backstretch and swept across the front bumper of Barton Sandy's car, spinning himself out. He slid back down the track and was struck in the rear by Seiju Dejao at approximately 170 MPH. Monroe climbed out of the #63 Zing Energy Saar under his own power, but was immediately transported to a local hospital after complaining of back pain.
Dejao was unhurt in the accident, and told reporters upon exiting the infield care center, "I thought I could get out of the way before [Monroe] slide down the track. I really hope he's okay".
Monroe is expected to be replaced by NRC driver Lawrence Burr or M&J Racing co-owner Brenda Riggs, depending on Burr's schedule.

Aaron Singer on pit road collision and the race in general:
"I don't know why everyone's trying to go out and make me look like the villan. I mean, don't these guys know that they're not supposed to be going at a fuckin' snail's pace? I guess nobody else wanted to win the race, and when you've got a car going that slow in front of you there's nothing you can do."
"Other than that, the race went pretty well until the shitty car broke, since all the bullshit always happens to me..."
Richard Scott finishes decent 16th
"Well, it's not quite the result we were hoping for, but at least our Caynon Machining Lycoia was able to cross the finish line after we fell out at Lakeland. If we just keep gathering data and improving our setups, I'm optimistic we can contend for the championship."

Alexander withdraws from season to maintain rookie status for next year
Team Quest and Gregory Alexander have withdrawn their #55 entry for the remainder of the 2013 season. Alexander told reporters he did that so that he could retain his rookie status for 2014. He also stated that there's still a possibility that he could run in the finale, the Rockford 200. Rumors are he might fall back to the ASCC, and switch out one of his drivers, most likely Mattias McCallister, for himself.
