You and BBoy are close.
It's the grill decal - there are only two bars. There should be three.

Did none of you notice that it's a Toyota with a Dodge brand name under it, AND Chevy headlights?

This car DNQed at Daytona in 2000, and that alone means three things
1.) ARCA qualifying was Televized
2.) Someone actually owns a tape of it and has posted it on the internet somewhere.
3.) That team was so lazy the just removed the CAT decals and that was it.

Re: ARCA Hall of Shame
That second 10 car. Ugh, let's list everything wrong with it.
1) I'm pretty sure it's a frankencar. It looks like an old Joe Gibbs Racing car, but it's a Dodge. If it is a frankencar, it's one of the best I've ever seen.
2) The paint scheme. That's just ugly. Mostly black, with some purple, some blue, and some red tape on the bottom of the nose. Horrifying.
3) The damage. That's a lot of damage in a lot of areas. I see part of the nose sticking up further than the rest of it, tire marks on the door, and dents, next to the car number, which brings me to my next point.
4) That car number. Cheapest. Car Number. Ever. Nuff said.
5) Possibly the most important thing, I think this car might break the no politics in racing rule, because I'm pretty sure that's a Ron Paul sticker on the quarter panel.
Meanwhile, I'd like to start something on here once in a while, highlighting the shenanigans of these cars off the track, as equipment is bought and sold. This is what I like to call, Fail for Sale. Fail for Sale covers the most "interesting" ads placed on ARCARacing.Com's Classifieds.
This week sees a fine selection of Fail for Sale, including a part of Daytona 500 history which we will start off with. In 2007, David Gilliland and teammate Ricky Rudd swept the front row for the 2007 Daytona 500. So where is the pole winning car now? Well, Tommy Joe Martins took possession of it, and made some "minor" changes.
Isn't that lovely. Well, at least his Dord is running well. Next we move on to Team Wilson, whose #32 team has seen some success in the last few years. Last year, driver Matt Merrell scored his first career win in the car. However, after sponsorship dried up, Merrell was released and they turned into a driver development/pay driver team. Now they're looking for new drivers/money, and have placed advertised known drivers that have driven for them in the ARCA classifieds. Except for one thing.
Justin Marks, who won a race in their car, is the only one of those four to have actually driven for them. Oops!

Team Wilson Driver Development currently looking to add aspiring drivers to team. If you have the ability and desire to get to the highest levels of racing, Team Wilson is the place for you. John Wes Townley, Justin Marks, Steve Arpin and Rob Jones have all taken part in program. Equipment capable of winning races. Custom development plans available.

There is no no-politics-in-racing rule. There have been many different campaigns on cars in the past. I don't know how you've failed to notice this.

Because there totally wasn't a Rick Santorum car in the Daytona 500 this year.

Yeah, and I complained about that one too. I know there isn't a real no politics in racing rule. I just messed up on my wording.

Re: ARCA Hall of Shame
Sorry for the double post, but I've got some more Fail for Sale. You know, some teams sell just parts of cars. This next sale is one of those. A team that says their parts are from Cunningham Motorsports is trying to sell some engines. However, they're a little bit confused on whether or not the parts have been used.
That might be a deal breaker.
16 engines from $5,500. As used by Cunningham Motorsports. Sold as is all are used. Does not include Intake or carburetor. Many parts new & used, 8 disassembled engines from $2,000.
That might be a deal breaker.

It looks like it's a Ford, but it's not a very good angle of the car to judge it by.

Re: ARCA Hall of Shame
I could be wrong, but I believe that unlike most teams, Venturini runs multiple manufactures as a strategy.

So its a fail because its a Ford? I don't know about you, but Speed kinda already made notice that at the first ARCA Pocono race. Not sure if you just noticed that or not, but thats been there for about a month now.

Re: ARCA Hall of Shame
I think the 99 team might be Roush developmental or something. Because the other car was sponsored by Roush Yates Engines and David Ragan's Fan Club. Man, you have to be desperate for cash to be sponsored by the fan club of another driver.
Re: ARCA Hall of Shame
A couple more from thepitlane.com:
http://thepitlane.hoogetech.com/paint/2012/29pollard.html
That front end does not look right.
http://thepitlane.hoogetech.com/paint/2012/40.html
Look at the paint scheme from Iowa. Notice who is sponsoring the car. For those of you who don't know who that is, he won the first season of Survivor, then went to jail for not paying his taxes.
http://thepitlane.hoogetech.com/paint/2012/64.html
Not a great picture, but an even worse paint scheme.

Re: ARCA Hall of Shame
Some of those cars look like scrap. In England we have a toyota MR2 (Mk1) race series which produces great racing, but the cars never turn up without scratches, massive dents, sellotape numbers and bits missing all over, it's really quite comical.
