Misc. Racing Hall of Shame
These F1 cars these teams have been coming out with this year (except for McLaren) have the most ridiculous-looking noses ever.

They look like I could the noses with a tennis racket and they'd break off. And I'm a weakling.

Just curious, what's the aero advantage supposed to be with those? Looks more bulky than anything IMO and they're ugly as hell. If anything, aren't those creating excess drag?

Worse than when NASCAR started the Winston in 2001 right as a rainstorm hit. These guys COULD dive right into the pits, and yet they keep on going?!? Yeah... if I was a team owner of one of those cars, there would probably be pink slips being handed out, for lack of common sense being used

They channel air over the cockpit and onto a specific part of the wing, as opposed to over the sidepods and engine cover. I hope it's a flop, because it's FUGLY.

Well that would make sense. Lowering the nose would help with drag but still, wouldn't it be more worthwhile to try to get more air into the airbox with these new noses (more horsepower, would be feasible since since there's a giant bump on the nose now) or continue work on channeling air down into the diffuser instead of focusing on an area on the exterior of the car? With the lower noses, it's going to be harder to get all of that air under the car and I really think that these new designs are going to handle noticeably different than those in previous years.
The Ferrari nose just strikes me as not only ugly as sin, but also fundamentally flawed. If you are going to have that huge bulge, at least channel it out instead of having it flat.
Here's what I would propose. I would take that Ferrari nose, channel out a smooth, round channel (sort of like how Lotus has theirs,) in the middle of the bulge and in that channel, create a small inlet that is flush with the nose allowing some of that air flowing over the nose to be piped into the diffuser. Red Bull has done something similar but theirs is not on the surface of the nose but rather on the bottom of the tip. Correct me if I'm wrong Coop or Nick but after looking at the 2012 F1 regs, I don't see anything saying that you can have an air inlet on the surface of the nose. If it was indeed legal, that would certaintly be a way to help for the lack of exhaust blown diffuser. Then again, I'm not exactly a aerodynamic engineer although I will be going to school for it starting next year.

The positioning of the gator nose leads me to think it also does something for additional front downforce as well.

When did that Sauber run? I'm guessing it was a C16 or C17. Never knew that Peter tried a 4 wing design. Puts the MP4/10 to shame, haha!

It was in 1998. I'm glad those small wings are gone.

Suicide watch.
It's interesting to note how some really great drivers started their top-level careers as complete noobs who were a hazard to themselves and everyone else.

I was waiting for someone to mention the walrus nose Williams. I believe Ralf Scumacher [or was it Juan Pablo? I forget] Said that the car was "as brutal to look at as it was beautiful to drive"

I was just about to post the tray table Arrows. That was quite the interesting design, if I may say myself.
I'm sure most people remember the smokestacks on the Sauber back in 2006.

Re: Misc. Racing Hall of Shame
The yellow engine cover looks like they just took one from a yellow car and stuck it on. In other words, really awkward looking. Other then that it looks okay.

It looks like her team decided to try and make an alternate paint scheme to the formerly named Lotus team's 2011 F1 car.
