Winter isn't ready to give up. Last day of February, and as I write this my thermometer outside reads -19 F. This was taken off Weather Underground for an area about an hour and a half away from me

A record low temperature of -24 degrees was set at the Gaylord
regional Airport yesterday. This value shatters the previous record
of -11 degrees... set in 1994.

In addition... the Mercury plunged all the way to -29 degrees at the
Pellston regional Airport... obliterating the old record of -14
degrees... also set in 1994.

Also right in that same area, I found this town on Weather Underground as well and took a screencap

Meanwhile in Atlantic Canada...

We're getting almost 80 cm of snow = 32.1 inches (Yup.... Winter sucks!)
Wind is almost 100km/h here, but I saw on TV. that maybe a chance of 160-180 km/h winds O_O

Saw on the news that the same storm is hitting areas from New Jersey to further north really hard, with gusts of wind 50-60 mph (80-100 km/h), but less snow, with 6 inches to 1 foot predicted (15-30 cm).

While it's still around 0 degrees Celsius here in Michigan (20F and 12C below average), the weather is very calm compared to that!

Yesterday hit about 58 here in Michigan, first time we've seen 50 here since November or really early in December last year. But today my forecast reads a high of 41, and currently it's only 30 and lightly snowing xP

Electricity just returned to my house after a storm knocked it out early last night, during which it rained hail about a half of an inch in diameter. Fortunately we had all of our cars under roofs, though.

A big derecho went through the Chicagoland area today. We had one big squall line that dumped tons of rain and made things at work a mess, and then a bigger one hit later on. The NWS received a report of an 82 mph wind gust in my hometown of Bolingbrook, and a tornado warning was issued for a radar indicated circulation just about 10 minutes away in Lockport. Very nerve-racking scenario when you're at work trying to coordinate a bowling league and tournament and make sure everyone is safe and the building isn't going to get damaged. I saw a few trees down on the way home, but we didn't see any damage to the house or my place of work, so we got lucky.

Supposed to be 90 here next Wednesday, pretty uncharacteristic for this area in general let alone during August haha. We must have been given an Indian summer.

Yesterday and today were the first two snow days of our 2014-2015 school year. I know that other parts of the country have had much more snow this winter than Michigan, but I can't remember the last time that we've received an entire foot of snow in one day!

We're currently getting out first snowfall of the year in this part of Michigan. There's about two inches on the ground but it's not supposed to stop all day.

I know that most people don't enjoy winter as much as I do, but I was excited this morning to open my curtains and find that the world had turned white!
