About the same here. Yesterday was the hottest day this week here, and of course it was the day I walked home >.< Think we're supposed to get some rain today or tomorrow.

The weather's been really nice here in southern Michigan since a practical monsoon swept through here a couple of weeks ago. It's been 70-80 degrees and sunny pretty much every day since then!

I would have liked it if that New Haven smell wasn't in the air (for those of you not blessed to live here, think of burning tires covered in hair, that's pretty close).

after at least 3 straight days of nothing but perfect sunshine, looks like we'll have more straight days of nothing but rain over here in my area of Northampton, England.
Re: The "What's The Weather Like?" Thread
Haven't checked the temperature, but it feels like upper-80's or lower-90's here with clear skies. Spring has finally arrived in Tennessee.

Do you guys have horrible humidity out in Michigan? Last summer was god awful here. Today, even though it wasn't too hot, it felt like 80 with the humidity.

Today's devastating Oklahoma tornado outbreak is almost an exact carbon copy of the May 3, 1999 Oklahoma outbreak; same city (Moore), same route, almost the same amount of deaths... Absolutely terrible.

The death toll is up to 51, and may go higher yet. Based on some aerial footage I saw on CNN, I predict the NWS survey team will rate this one an EF5 as well. I saw some slabs swept clean, and large portion of a field scoured and torn apart. Very very unsettling

A friend of mine goes to school in Oklahoma and lives about five minutes away from the where the twister hit. Thankfully he's home for the summer, but I can't imagine what the people of Moore are going through, or what would have happened to him if he was still there.

This is one of the reasons why I want to be a meteorologist. To help protect people from these violent twisters, and to see if there is a better way to predict storms. I feel so sorry to everyone in that town!
Every year it seems like there is a tornado that is stronger than all of the others,
3 years ago- Yazoo City MS
2 years ago- Joplin MO
Last year- Tuscaloussa (SP?) AL
This Year- Moore OK

I'm going storm chasing in a couple weeks as a vacation. If I can, I'll definitely be stopping in Moore. I'll probably just stop to eat lunch or stay the night in town, but I figure any money I spend in will help out. They need the support

So I went "storm chasing" for a week and pretty much nothing happened. I get back and there is a "high risk" day directly over my home. I have to work. This sucks

The storm Mystrsyko mentioned is heading towards Ohio. Of course, all of this will be happening when at least most of us are asleep. As of now, it's a severe thunderstorm and flash flood watch. I'm sure it'll be much more than that when it gets closer. I'm sure the guys that live in the Mid-West knows that this storm can create derechos and tornadoes.

Yep, I am watching right now 11 CBS Toledo news... There have been a few tornado warnings... The possible Derecho later should be a straight line wind event...

I'm southwest of where you are. From the looks of the radar, it looks like my area's going to get a good bit of this storm.

Just got a notification on my phone--Flash Flood Warning til 5AM. As soon as I received the message, storm sirens went off.
Just checked three different weather sites. Two of them gave warnings, and right now my area is under a flash flood warning and a tornado warning.
Edit: reduced to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Now I can sleep.

I am right on the edge of Toledo's and Cleveland's coverage, so immediately after a tornado warning ended for Toledo. I went to another storm east of Cleveland that was tornado warned...
I am about 10 minutes from getting dangerous straight line winds in excess of 60MPH!

Ohio has been getting a lot of rain tonight. So much rain that the dorm parking lots are flooded. There has to be at least 2-3 feet of standing water.

The weather in my area of England, in Northampton had been proper hot in the past few days including today which is at 25C (77F).

It's funny what is considered hot in some places. 77 degrees would be the most pleasant day ever over here.BWardboy88 wrote:The weather in my area of England, in Northampton had been proper hot in the past few days including today which is at 25C (77F).

Pretty fierce storms blew in a few minutes ago, strong enough that just the wind by itself knocked my Dish service out. Just my receiver though, not my parents', for what ever reason.

So to add to the what I previously posted, my stepmom had to go back to work and she is tking me to my grandparents cause I have guitar at 3. I was in the rain fir no morw than three seconds and I'm completely drenched. It's been storming for 25 minutes and its dropped from 83 to 67 degrees. Along with it, multiple streets are flooded already, including parts of Main street, and it looks like it should be about 8PM right now.

Huge amounts of bushfires across the whole state of N.S.W. including one a couple of miles from my house. My household was never in danger but had a lot of friends were in the line of fire. A very close friend nearly hold her house destroyed, the fire came within one street of her house, which had two vintage 1960's Holden Monaro's in the back shed.

The storm has been terrible in the north. Was driving up from University, and the rain was so bad I couldn't see! Wind levels have been terrible as well, and there's been a fair bit of thunder and lightning.

I heard the Midlands (where I am) is going to get the worst of it around about now, but I see no storm at all. The biggest problem will be all the trains grinding to a halt because of a rogue leaf on the line.

Sorry for the bump, but from what I'm hearing, it's terrible in Dunkirk, my mom was knee deep in snow and most of the backroads were unplowed.
Where I am isn't so bad apparently.

School was released 15 minutes early yesterday, though some neighboring districts were released three hours earlier. It had been snowing all morning, but it turned into rain by afternoon. One of the first cars out of the parking lot broke down in the lot's driveway/road, and cancelled out those 15 minutes for a lot of people behind him.
And, obviously, we got today off. I believe this is our 8th day off of the school year.
