Not as dreadful today but still pretty hot. Couple hours ago around 3 ET the heat index peaked at 97, about 92 right now. Tomorrow looks nice though compared to this, only high 70s to low 80s.

Pretty normal here for the last several days as weather goes. Near Melbourne a 5.3 earthquake happened in a place called Moe. No damage or deaths happened.

Meanwhile up in Sydney it is freezing, currently 4*C/39*F, which is annoying considering I live in the hottest suburb of Sydney. And Road America for Saturday is forecast as Thunderstorms.

Yeah, Ipswich is hotter than Brisbane in high most of the time, but Ipswich is much colder than Brisbane in low most of the time. The weather is really boring around this time. I can't wait till October when storm season starts here. Btw we had about a visibility of 100m this morning because of fog.

Just got hit by a huge thunderstorm. Power went out three times during the storm, and I'm pretty sure I saw a bolt of lightning hit my backyard.

At my moms, a massive wind storm hit us and it moved her car a few inches. May have been a funnel cloud right around the house, not sure. The house is on the outskirts of the city, right in front of a bunch of woods. A tree landed about a foot or two from the window in my room, almost hitting my room. I have a picture, and I'll try to upload it when I can. It's calmed down now, thankfully.

To anyone on TS I showed my house to from Google Maps, this is not the same house.

Edit: Went outside, my moms garden she had full of food plants and sunflowers got demolished. I'm hoping for her sake some of them are ok.

We got hit with two big storms yesterday. The first was around noon. It was a squal line that was forming into a bow echo, but it reorganized right over us, so it wasn't too bad. I had no idea until this morning that it went on to form a progressive derecho and bulldoze the eastern half of the country :/

The second was later at night, around 10pm. I was at work and didnt get to see any of it, but apparently it was pretty intense and caused a lot of tree and power line damage in the area.

This is my first time being on the internet since yesterday before the power went out for the rest of yesterday into this morning at my dorms. Sleeping with no A/C on sucked. As someone who has never experienced these type of storms in Tornado Alley, the storm yesterday easily ranks as the scariest (although it was rather short) storms I have ever seen and experienced in person. I was amazed how much wind there was and the number of trees and branches that went down. For those who are curious to see what damage was done in the town that I'm in, here's the link.

Storm rolled in a couple hours ago, and lightning was everywhere, continuous and non-stop. For some reason there was no wind at all. Luckily my power didn't go out unlike some 10,000 people in my county.

It looks like a derecho's forming over Illinois. The big storm that was coming towards Ohio dissipated as soon as it got there, thankfully. As for that other storm, who knows what'll happen. I just hope no one in that area will get hurt.
