And boy, Joey Logano is making few friends in the paddock these days. First Hamlin, now Stewart.

I can see the Hamlin. Tony has no reason to bitch. He did the same thing with Waltrip at Talladega last October. When it's less than 15 laps to go, you're going to block to win if you have to. Tony is just being Tony. lol.

I saw Kyle coming and thought that they'd better not let him win, I would much rather either Logano or Hamlin wins than him. Of course, who wins?

He 100% earned that loss. It sucks that Denny looks hurt.

Joey didn't throw anything away, Hamlin was on 20-lap fresher tires. It was a matter of time before Hamlin caught Logano.

And yeah, I don't know why Stewart was so angry. That's racing, and Stewart knows it.

I don't care if Kyle Busch won the race, that was freaking awesome. I don't think anyone was expecting the last 25 or so laps to end the way it did. Easily the best NASCAR race I've seen at Fontana. I don't think you could have asked for a better way to end an awesome race weekend. Logano prooved to us what kind of driver he is in more than one way today. As for Hamlin, I really hope he's okay.

I was cheering out loud because they were racing each other so hard, but after Logano sideswiped the 11 off turn two, I said something like "Just make sure you bring it back around", and then he ran himself and Hamlin into a spin. That could have been a good finish if Logano hadn't decided it was "crash the 11" time.

He and Hamlin were more or less even, and off of turn four it wouldn't have been more than a few car lengths between them. Most likely it would have been much closer than that. But instead Logano slammed up into Hamlin and threw away a top 2.

I only saw the last 20 or so laps and it's the most entertained I've by NASCAR since the Busch race at Daytona. Certainly do hope Hamlin's all right, quite a shot he took.

Wow, massive hit for Hamlin. Hope he's okay. I only saw the clip once, but it looked like that was an uncovered wall with no SAFER barrier.

I think the world just exploded... Cali actually produced a pretty decent race for once, with a OMGWTF finish that I don't think a lot of us saw coming. Although, Hamlin looked like he was hurt, so hopefully there's nothing serious there, because that was a hard hit he took in the inside wall, and where he hit didn't have a SAFER barrier. And Tony deciding to throw down with Lolgano this week... LOL.

All I can say is... wow. What... a... freaking... race, and at California, no less.

That's why my final rating for this race is a 6.5/10, and I still can't believe I'm giving that good a rating for a race that was absolutely atrocious last year. Maybe there is something to these Gen6 cars after all...

Hamlin hit a concrete wall at an upward(!) angle. A concussion is not out of the question, nor chest injuries like Annett had. He looked really groggy getting out of the car. Probably only got out because of the adrenaline from the hit.

Hope you don't mind me asking, Pack, but you gave the St. Petersburg race this week a 7.5 and the Fontana race a 6.5, so what exactly would a race have to do, in your opinion, to warrant a 10?

Absolutely chaotic finish to a race that was rather anonymous prior to the final 12 laps. It appeared that Logano drove really deep into 3 and collided with Hamlin, and Kyle scooting on past the two of them. Hoping Denny is OK after that. Can't possibly imagine what Martinsville will bring for the Cup boys.

He made an inflammatory comment, certainly, but right after the race when emotions are high. That's hardly worthy of getting kicked from NASCAR. I'm not defending what he said, but it's hardly the worst thing he could've said or a racer has said without getting anything discipline.

If NASCAR doesn't do something about him, I will be surprised. Clearly he can't demonstrate good judgement when he gets emotional on track.

Tony needs to stfu. Blocking is racing, and he admits to that. It doesn't matter how hypocritical Logano is when you're being butthurt about it.

even if he didn't get hurt, Joey needs to be suspended a race for those comments, Given how Denny did take a trip to the hosipital.

Apparently when Stewart came over to fight Joey, Joey tried to throw some punches, but the only person he hit was his own father.

It looked like Denny tried to save the car-the fronts didn't lock until it closed on the wall which means the car lost speed due to the lateral friction on the tyres, i.e. not that much. Probably around 130mph into an uncovered wall at a shallow angle.

Because Tony hasn't ever blocked before. Neutral

Logano had all right to be blocking tbh. He had a race-winning car and wanted to keep positions, and you don't want to be back in traffic with a car as good as this.

While I pretty much detest Hamlin, I hope he is okay. This was probably one of the few times ever that I was rooting for Logano, seeing as how he was being pushed around a lot lately. Great finish and great drama. There will be a lot of things to sort out over the next couple of days/weeks.

I have no idea what that was with Stewart. He would've done the same thing with 10 laps left. I had quite a bit of respect for him, but much of that is lost now.

Chaos all day!

10 would mean a perfect race, and let's be honest here, that's just never gonna happen. There would have to be awesome side-by-side for pretty much the entire race, fender rubbing, some WTF moments, and a crazy-as-all-hell finish... all in the same race. The last 20 laps were pretty much balls to the wall, which certainly helped the score. The rest of the race wasn't bad, either, just nothing too spectacular or SuperSpecialAwesome.

Also, I tend to be a little bit strict when it comes to my scores. Unless I see something that completely melts my face off, and unless the race really keeps me on the edge of my seat for pretty much the entire race, don't expect a score above a 7.

I agree 100% it he shouldn't have said it. I hardly think he's sadistic though and wanted to see Hamlin in the hospital. Just a poorly timed comment. Rick Allen put it well on Twitter: "When @dennyhamlin is taken to infield care center in ambulance @joeylogano needs to be an adult and not say 'that's what he gets' bad timing".

Watched the best view they had. Logano got loose into Hamlin and Hamlin ACTUALLY looked like he was more saving it then anything and hit Logano.

While Tony fighting over a block is absolute bullshit. Boo-hoo it's racing

Although i fucking howled at his interview.

Race was ATROCIOUS....UP UNTIL THE LAST 20 LAPS. Last 20 were pretty awesome and fun to watch even despite the top 3 being the absolute drizzling shits. Awesome finish.

Hope Hamlin is okay, Not a fan but still had a hard shot with a banked wall. Just cause i'm not a fan doesn't mean i want him hurt.

Martinsville hype just shot through the roof.

Logano comments were kinda bad (BUT he didn't know Hamlin went in a ambulance),

Joey didn't weasel out (cause probably ANYONE here would be pissed if they got taken out in 2nd) & wrecked Hamlin (It Just ended with a bad wreck for Hamlin, hope he's ok), ALSO Tony remember Sonoma 2011 with Vickers (so shut up about blocking).

See the pattern.

Also this is Danica's first top 40 qualifying effort since Daytona.

I agree with this part of your post. I can't remember the last time a driver was parked for dangerous actions on track

I'd assume Kyle Busch turning Hornaday head-on into the wall under caution would qualify.

-Comments (I could honestly see)
-Finish (Honestly No, cause they were racing for the win & he wrecked him, that's racing, just because Hamlin hit the inside wall was a freak coincidence it won't be)

Kyle Busch in the Texas truck race a year or two ago wrecked Ron Hornaday under caution and was suspended from the Cup race.

How about Jeff Gordon @ PIR? No suspension

Logano was doing fine until turn 4, Hamlin gave plenty of room but he still had to take more. Both of them wrecked. Wasn't intentional, but still a dumb move by Logano.

Sorry he's racing for the win. He got loose and tapped him, Hard racing for the win plain and simple. Hamlin paid the price sadly.

The comments he said after...I'd be more inclined to agree on that

As much as it looked like a dick move, it was racing for the win. Just unfortinate results.

I opt to not watch this race, and meanwhile, in the ISARS TeamSpeak, they're going crazy about the Logano/Hamlin incident and the follow up fight. I did see the finish after the ISARS race ended, and all I've got to say is that I sure hope that wasn't intentional, otherwise I've lost a lot of respect for Logano. All these years I thought he had something to prove -- not anymore.

Even though the race was fantastic in the final laps, I sure hope Denny's fine. As for Lolgano, he should be banned for one race after that sick and vile comment he made 'he deserved it.' He's going for the win, but be sensitive. And as for Stewart, one of the greatest racecar drivers I've seen in my life, but can anyone recall what happened last year in Talladega? Shut it Smoke.

Good last few laps, never seen so much passing at this race until today. Now some of the issues:

The Hamlin/Logano Wreck: Not Intentional. It was a race for the win, neither driver backed off and that was the end result. None of them can be blamed.

Logano's comments towards Hamlin: While unnecessary and childish (like Hamlin's were last week), not reffering to him being injured. After already being frustraited with his finish AND getting attacked by a driver who can't stand being blocked in the last few laps for the win yet feels its ok to do so himself, he was very likely not aware of Hamlin being put in the ambulance so his comments were simply poorly timed.

The Block on Stewart: Given that this is the last few laps of a race, I say totally fair. Stewart is just talking out of his ass, he's done this so many times so all the BS he is spewing should not even be taken seriously.

My take on all that. Overall, Stewart is sounding alot like Denny did back in 2008 when he was "raced too hard" by Brad and its grinding my nerves. He needs to grow the hell up. And Joey, there's standing up for yourself and then there's lowering yourself to pitiful levels. Leave the BS off Twitter and grow the hell up.
