I think I have a feeling we may only see 42 out of the usual 43 cars on the entry list for at least a race or two later this year.

The Gen 6 car has been a bit of a mixed bag so far this season, but after that solid showing at Bristol, I'm going to go with "cautiously optimistic".

After taking a week off because someone tried to usurp my segment *COUGH*HETZEL*COUGH* , here is your Start & Park report for the Auto Club 400 @ California.
To the Garage
19 - Mike Bliss (I've run out of things to say about this team. They're not worth my breath.)
98 - Michael McDowell (Damn it boy, I thought you had a little common sense. If you did, you would have fled Phil Parsons a long time ago!)
Still Questionable
35 - Josh Wise (Taking it race by race with the 3rd Front Row team. So far they haven't let me down by running the distance)
Off the Sheet
87 - Joe Nemechek (Glad to see Maddie's Place staying with them, even though NEMCO is slow as hell.)

Fontana is a fun track to race on, but to spectate, it's boring as hell. With that said, I'm probably not going to watch any NASCAR races this weekend. You guys can let me know if anything exciting happens.

Guys, seriously don't doubt anything about this race. The Gen6 car has already proved in the last few races that it's done decently well so far, so maybe this Race might not be so bad after all.

I predict the 44 car will start and park, and when I say start and park, I mean crash out in the first 30 laps.
The reason why they crash is irrelevant.

Whatever kind of race the Gen6 car produces here, hopefully it will be better than typical Fontana.

I find it quite weird that a track that provides such boring Cup races, has provided some of the best CART/Indycar races ever.

Yeah, the larger flatter tracks (while dangerous) seem to produce great open wheel races. Michigan had great Indycar/CART races too.f1fan12 wrote:SpeedDemon37 wrote:Whatever kind of race the Gen6 car produces here, hopefully it will be better than typical Fontana.

I'm probably not doing it right, but it seems whenever there's a mention of the #44, with it comes that meme (if you could even call it that).
And if I might add, if that car does crash, I guarantee you it'll be the only event worthy of note for this weekend. Even with the new car, I don't trust the racing here to be any better.

Denny Hamlin will start on pole for Sunday's race. Biffle and Keselowski will be starting in the rear for engine changes.

Daytona: Chevrolet
Phoenix: Ford
Las Vegas: Toyota
Bristol: Chevrolet
See the pattern.
Also this is Danica's first top 40 qualifying effort since Daytona.

Honestly, this race has been FAR more watchable than last year's running, but there really hasn't been anything that's melted my face off.

Re: Auto Club 400 - Sprint Cup
I'm sorry but was that California. Wow! Kyle won but on a last lap pass.

Holy crap what a hit Hamlin took.
And boy, Joey Logano is making few friends in the paddock these days. First Hamlin, now Stewart.

Wow, Joey threw that away so badly. Hamlin got him loose and gave him a shot, then Logano gave him a nudge back going into one, but out of two and into three was all Joey being a dick.
He 100% earned that loss. It sucks that Denny looks hurt.

Go away Tony Stewart. Logano tried to win the race and you're raging over a block?!? Seriously, lots of respect lost for Stewart.

Boring ass race, but I was glued the last 12 laps.Hope hamlins okay that was a hell of a hit. Tony deserves to be made at Lolgano, he blocked like a idiot the entire last quarter of the race.
