2014 Hanmore Formula Overdrive Thread (RACE 5 IS UP!)

The 2012 Hanmore Formula Overdrive season will feature yet another change in ownership for the series. This season, the series will be operated by executives from title sponsor Hanmore.

Ownership and engine rules have been relaxed in contrast to the strict two-car operation and one-engine-per-team rules seen in the 2008 and 2011 seasons. Four engine suppliers will be seen in 2012; Xenos, ClarTech, Atsuro Technologies, and TTE. There will also be two chassis for teams to choose from; Duncan and Mascroft.

The series will consist of 14 races, with a 50/50 split between the number of road courses and the number of ovals. Car counts will be limited to 25 per race, with a possible one-off race at the season finale.

Fictional sponsors.

Xenos, ClarTech, and Atsuro are the experienced engine providers. The TTE enters the fray this season, but are expected to be slow and heavy.

Duncan and Mascroft, the chassis providers, looked about even in early wind-tunnel testing.

St. Petersburg Organizers Drop Event; Opening Round to Sears Point

Funding for the 2012 Formula Overdrive season opener at St. Petersburg has dried up, and series officials have called off the event in St. Pete. Instead, the season opener will commence at Sears Point.

(OOC: Doing some random track testing for the season, this track produces much better races than St. Pete. )
