Re: Racing Video/Picture Thread
When I hear these indycars, I think they sound like the Le Man's prototype cars, but after hearing some of the clips you brought up, I might have to agree on it.
As for the video Cynon uploaded, awesome.
EDIT: Oh god. I remember watching that on live stream. Pretty much a Paul Tracy-like dick move he pulled back at San Jose in '06.

The person that uploaded this race said that the race had commercial with less than 10 LAPS TO GO!! And we all thought the coverage for the Daytona 500 race last night was bad.

Sure was. I think he ran a Chevy in the Busch up til the end of the '01 season. That's only because his crew chief (Robbie) was the previous driver.

three cars crashed at the same corner. Never a novel concept in V8 Supercars.

It's a combination of that and turn 8 being one of the most dangerous corners in Australia.

I accidentally found this while searching for something else...
Yes. That's Paul Tracy in a Benetton. I honestly thought this was photoshopped at first . Now that I found this, I wonder how well he would've done in Formula 1?

That looks eerily similar to my old Formula 5 car back from the Shade Tree days, just with less black on it.

Re: Racing Video/Picture Thread
I like the updated version of the video more just because it has older clips in it.
As for the WoO Sprint Cars racing at Bristol, I actually watched the whole race on YouTube. I wonder why they did it only once. I honestly think they can build it up to be a huge event if they did it every year. I guess the track would probably take more abuse.
EDIT: If you live near San Diego, you probably already know about this. LOL.

At least they had multiple crew members and a truck there on she stopped. Power was waving for help, then ran to grab an extinguisher when it took too long.

In Will Power's case, the fire wasn't as big as the video I posted and Simona really couldn't get out of her car since she was kind of stuck. We're talking about a critical situation where everything's on the line. Alone, it took them 38 seconds to arrive at the scene, which by safety standards is a year and a day. And the fact that they had no clue what to do made it worse. First thing they should've done was grab a fire extinguisher and put the fire out immediately. Instead, they just pulled her out of the car while it was STILL ON FIRE. If the safety crew arrived sooner and tried to put out the fire immediately, Simona probably wouldn't have suffered the burns she did.

Citgo must love sponsoring drivers who's careers revolve solely around crashing. I'm amazed they haven't approached Townley yet.

For Cynon:
March 15, 2012 (Charlotte, NC) –*What is another form of racing that Robby Gordon can mark off his impressive list of racing series?* If you guessed monster trucks, you guessed correctly. **Robby Gordon Motorsports and SPEED Energy have formed a partnership with BIGFOOT 4x4, Inc., owner of the most well –known monster truck in the United States.
NASCAR and Off-Road racer, Robby Gordon, and BIGFOOT 4x4, Inc. have entered into a multi-year agreement beginning with the 2012 season.** The addition of the monster truck, built at Gordon’s race shop in Charlotte, NC, will be the nineteenth chassis in the line-up of BIGFOOT trucks.
Gordon’s energy drink company, SPEED Energy, will be the co-primary sponsor of the monster truck.* “This partnership with BIGFOOT 4x4, Inc. is a big step for our company.* It opens the door to market SPEED Energy to a new demographic.* Being featured as a sponsor on the truck is just one element to the relationship, we will also be selling SPEED Energy/BIGFOOT #19 diecasts, t-shirts, hats and other merchandise,” says Gordon.*** During the first year of the agreement the monster truck will be used primarily for display purposes.* From there the truck will participate in events, with the possibility of Gordon being behind the wheel.* “I’m excited about the opportunity to drive the SPEED Energy/BIGFOOT #19 monster truck.* We built the truck a few years ago and we’ve played around with it, but actually competing in events would be a lot of fun,” Gordon remarks.
*“We are really looking forward to teaming up with Robby and Speed Energy! Robby and Bob Chandler go back to the early days when both teams were Ford sponsored. Robby’s dynamic outlook and his racer’s mentality fit right in with the BIGFOOT way of life!* Be on the lookout for a whole line of Robby Gordon’s Speed Energy/BIGFOOT #19 merchandise,” says Bob Trent, Vice President of Sponsorships* & Business Development at BIGFOOT 4x4, Inc.
