Current Day

RealTomDelgado: Yep. Can't race with a total knee replacement, at least not the way I want to. Tried to ignore it, but you can only defy the will of heaven so many times. My knee had gotten progressively worse since my wintertime accident years ago. Even though I had surgery at the time to repair torn ligaments in both legs, for some reason the right one just didn't take as well as the left one. Now I know why it didn't. The knee was shot and something had to be done about it. (1/3)

MotorsportsWeekly: Former ASCC & Dash Cup champion Tom Delgado forced to retire "for good this time" after reports surface that he had a total knee replacement done in February.

RealTomDelgado: I'm 45 years old. I haven't raced since the 2019 Independent's Trophy campaign. The fire's still there, but the body's no longer willing. I said when I came out of my 2012 retirement that when my body tells me I'm done, I'll obey. It's telling me I'm done, so I'm done. (2/3)

JefferJackson500: It pains to say that Jefferson Clark Jackson, a man that has brought joy to so many, was found dead in his apartment of an apparent suicide.

JefferJackson500: Jefferson was a stalwart in the midwest short tracking scene, particularly in pickup truck classes, eventually rising to the FARC Lowe Dollar Series running with Terminal Velocity Motorsports gaining several top 10s.

JefferJackson500: However, with the shutdowns to slow the spread of the virus came the loss of most of the team's sponsorship. The already struggling operation was and still is facing the very real prospect of not being able to return in any capacity.

JefferJackson500: It was also realized too late that much like his team, he was struggling as well. After people were allowed into his apartment it was made clear he was attending support groups to deal with depressive and suicidal thoughts.

JefferJackson500: When those got shut down due to the lockdowns, the timeline became clear as he started withdrawing from the world and eventually stopped answering calls from us, his family.

JefferJackson500: Lockdowns in the state didn't let us check in on him and we only found out through the apartment's owner after a complaint from another tenent. We're even more heartbroken because we all feel like even through it all we could've helped him.

JefferJackson500: A true friend to anyone he even passed by on the street, he will be deeply missed.
