NASCAR at Michigan and Mid-Ohio
The Cup drivers and the Truck drivers are at the fastest track in NASCAR today, the 2-mile Michigan Int'l Speedway, where Kurt Busch won in a boring, rain-shortened race back in June. Johnny Sauter won last year's truck race. The Cup guys will use the rules package similar to Indy, so what else is on Sunday?
The Xfinity drivers are not done with road racing yet as they head to the MID-OHIO SPORTS CAR COURSE. Points leader Chris Buescher won last year's race. Alex Tagliani takes over the No. 22 Penske Ford. Will Regan Smith retaliate against Ty Dillon? Who will win this race? The race is Saturday at 3pm on NBCSN.

Regan Smith wins the race on a last-turn bump on polesitter Alex Tagliani.

Mid-Ohio was really good. Better then the first two races!

Decent Mid-Ohio race despite feeling like it was dragging in points.
Smith gets after one of his better runs in a while, really fine line on that move on Tag though.

Is it just me, or has this race been ungodly boring so far?

Well, I can't say I'm surprised. This is the same package they used at Indy, and we saw how God-awful that race was. I was hoping that maybe it was just a one time thing, but nope. Other than the restarts, this race has majorly sucked so far.

Honestly, NASCAR could've sticked to the 2014 package. That package produced awesome racing throughout last year.

This is pathetic. I appreciate NASCAR at least trying to try something different, but common sense should dictate that Sprint Cup race cars should not be racing like NXS cars. Because that's what this looks like, a fucking XFinity race.

Basically what I've been saying all along. Why would NASCAR go away from that package when it produced such good racing last year? It doesn't make any sense to me.
And then earlier this year, they said they we're gonna stick with the 2015 package for 2016. Are you kidding me?!
NASCAR has it so ass-backwards, its turning into a running joke at this point.

That race was the biggest pile of horseshit I've ever seen. Fuck this package.

I wish I could be happy that my favorite driver won, but this race was fucking dismal. Especially disappointed because this is a track I happen to like a lot. As far as I'm concerned, this race was just three hours of wasted time.

Oh, it's gonna get one, because I'm itching to tear this race and this package a new asshole.

My thoughts on the Pure Michigan 400 @ MIS...
Wow. That... was God-awful.
Entertainment-wise, I don't think I've sat through a more boring race this year. Of course, considering that they decided to bring the Indy race package here to Michigan, my expectations for this race took a major blow, and... well, suffice it to say, I feel like a Goddamn idiot right now, because I just wasted three hours of my life watching this steaming heap of dog shit. Whoever came up with this race package needs to be drug tested, because it is garbage, and this race and Indy will attest to that.
The last week has been one of the shittiest weeks in racing that I can recall. With the Ward lawsuit, losing Buddy Baker, Auto Club being knocked off the IndyCar schedule, and two bad wrecks in Sprint Car racing, one of which resulted in a fatality, I was hoping that this race would've stemmed the tide, but all it did was add another giant heaping shit to the pile. I mean, Jimmie Johnson has been running like crap the last month or so. He hasn't been a factor whatsoever, which, from my perspective, makes me glad, but it doesn't matter because the races have been shit anyways.
Absolute domination by Matt Kenseth today, leading 146 of the 200 laps. There was just no way he was gonna be stopped today. Kudos to him on one helluva performance.
Other than some of the restarts and a small battle between Kenseth and Dillon for the lead, this was, IMO, the worst race of the year. There is literally nothing from this race that I would go back and watch that I enjoyed. Nothing. Couple little slivers here and there, but nothing.
My final rating for the Pure Michigan 400 @ MIS:
Usually, I can find a way to give a bad race at least a three, but... I'm sorry. This race gets a 0/10 from me. No offense is intended against the drivers and teams, because they do the best they can with what they're given, but this race sucked ass. SUCKED ASS. It was a f**king failure. Entertainment-wise, this was the worst race of the year so far, and there have been a lot of shitty races this season. Four of the last five Cup races have been garbage, and this one was the worst of the bunch.
There's only one direction to go from here and that's up, and I'm hoping to God the racing's better next week, and it better be because the next race is at Bristol, but I'm sorry, guys. I found no entertainment in this race whatsoever, and believe me, I tried, and from what I'm seeing from previous posts, it looks like all of you here on EFR feel the exact same way. NASCAR needs to get their heads out of their asses, because this season is becoming a running joke.

Kenseth was the man today. Though the race was shit. A good few battles, and a good few restarts, but that's about it. I do agree with some people saying it was the worst NASCAR race I've seen in my 22 years of living on this planet Earth. A 1.0/10.

Matt Kenseth won... but that Michigan race put me into a deep sleep that I just now woke up from. Now I have to get ready for work. D:<

Normally this is the point where someone would chime in and say "Well, from the stands it was a lot better."
It wasn't, I assure you.

Re: NASCAR at Michigan and Mid-Ohio
The Truck Series race on Saturday was definitely the most entertaining race that I have attended at MIS!
There was a lot of close racing that the TV coverage missed (although I do understand that it is very hard to cover everything). Kyle Busch may have had the fastest truck of the day, but by no means was he dominant. Before the first green flag pit stops, no driver in the top 10 ever ran by himself. I thought that any of the top 7 finishers were fast enough to win the race, maybe more if the front-runners would have run into trouble.
I personally would have much rather watched Blaney or Jones win than Busch, but it wasn't until the last turn of the event that the race was decided. Considering how many fans that he has gained recently, I was surprised to see so many in the stands upset at him winning. A lot of people shouted in disgust when he accidentally clipped the corner of the giant "24" that was painted on the grass while doing victory celebrations, which I found hilarious!
It was especially fun to watch the final 6 laps! Blaney and Jones are two of my favorite drivers after Gallagher, and I was hoping towards the finish that they could win. I don't dislike Kyle Busch, but I really would have preferred not to watch a Cup driver beat the Truck regulars. Also, while watching the top 3 on the last lap, I completely missed Gallagher's crash. I immediately noticed his absence when the field came back to the line, and while exiting the stands saw his wrecked car being towed. It was slightly painful for me to have Gallagher crash on the final lap while Blaney and Jones lost to Busch, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I enjoyed the racing very much!
