NASCAR at Michigan and Gateway/ARCA at Michigan
The Cup Series and Xfinity Series are at the Irish Hills of Michigan for a weekend at the fastest track in NASCAR today, Michigan International Speedway. Martin Truex Jr. finally triumphed in last week's Cup race at Pocono. Chris Buescher won the last Xfinity race at Dover.
The truckers are in St. Louis to race Saturday night at Gateway. Darrell Wallace Jr. won in last year's return to the speedway. Matt Crafton looks to ccontinue his stronghold for the title after his Texas victory.
ARCA will race here on Friday afternoon for a 200-mile race at Michigan.
Entry Lists coming soon.

Re: NASCAR at Michigan and Gateway/ARCA at Michigan
This is a weekend of racing that I anticipate for what are probably very overt reasons, but not just for MIS; I've been looking forward to the Truck Series' return to Gateway since last year's race, which I thought was very entertaining!
Wish that I could see at least one of the races in person, but hopefully will be able to return next year!

While slightly off topic if this weekends racing, apparently Phoenix International Raceway is being renamed the Jeff Gordon Racewat this November, in honour of the 4-time Cup Champion. Ok then.

Re: NASCAR at Michigan and Gateway/ARCA at Michigan
MWR has swapped Crew Chiefs, with Brian Pattie going to the 55 and Billy Scott will move to the 15.
Also Xfinity became more unwatchable, and looks like the regulars may not get there wins :/

Today in Xfinity practice, all this Kyle Busch loving makes me feel like never watching again :/
It's bad, also Kenny called debris on Gaughn's car *Jacques*

Is this Ross Kenseth's first start or did I miss something?

Hoping he can get the Woods' first win since some guy named Bayne in 2011.

Re: NASCAR at Michigan and Gateway/ARCA at Michigan
Joey Logano wins pole EVEN THOUGH Chase had a faster lap, but NASCAR said he didn't make it in time, (TV had 1-2 seconds for time). Heck, the flagman was late also. That's NASCAR i guess.
Brian Scott got 2nd, Bubba P3, Larson 4th and Menard will start 5th
Brad Keselowski @keselowski 2m2 minutes ago
Not sure how other sports can sync their clocks to telecast but we need it in NASCAR qualifying.

Even though Erik Jones put himself in a bad situation spinning out and can't get it restarted, I'm really starting to feel sorry for him.
EDIT: Well THAT just happened.

Kyle wrecks his car. That's what you get for winning Xfinity.
And they need to fix the barrier.

that was a legit screw-up by NASCAR, there had been rain for at least a lap or two prior according to Harvick)

This is race is absolutely stupid. I know nobody can control mother nature, but race is almost 4 hours in and not even half way.

Re: NASCAR at Michigan and Gateway/ARCA at Michigan
Rain again, Larson was 3 laps short. Kurt out front at the moment. May be his win.

I realized after posting that, he probably wrecked from over correcting (Something I noticed happens a lot to the 18 ). That being said I still think rain had a little to do with it, maybe not everything, but some.

Thank you mother nature for finally putting the period on the end of another terrible Sprint Cup race.

Re: NASCAR at Michigan and Gateway/ARCA at Michigan
My thoughts on the 2015 Quicken Loans 400 @ Michigan:
Well, that last restart was a bummer.
Really thought Jr. was gonna snag a win, but because Larson stayed out and took the outside, that allowed Kurt Busch to steal the win with an outside pass of Jr., while Larson had to pit for fuel. Then the rains came and that was all she wrote, which was a massive bummer from my perspective. It's nice to see Kurt continue his redemption season, but I'd rather have seen Jr. win in that paintscheme. Oh, well. It is what it is.
Overall, the race just didn't really capture my attention that much. There was some good racing here and there, and the restarts were good, but there was a point while Harvick was leading that the race got painfully boring. Of course, Mother Nature being a prick didn't help matters, with four red flags for rain in this race. I did LOL though when Harvick had his flat tire, and Johnson was pretty much a non-factor for the entire race, which was something of a surprise.
My rating for the 2015 Quicken Loans 400 @ Michigan:
Well, it wasn't the worst race in the world, but it was far from being the best, which makes it kind of difficult to give a rating for, but I'll go on my Bret Hart shit for this race.
Well, NASCAR has a week off for Father's Day, and then we head to Sonoma.

Re: NASCAR at Michigan and Gateway/ARCA at Michigan
I wasn't home on Saturday to extend the DVR recording of the Truck Series race. The recording ended on lap 145.
According to racing-reference.info, Jones was involved in an accident later that same lap (I was hoping that he could finally win).
And Spencer Gallagher finished in 2nd.
I have once again missed out. Good job to Cole Custer, by the way!
