NASCAR Weekend @ The Glen
The Sprint Cup series heads to their 2nd and final road course of the season at the Watkins Glen International. The past few years, this race has come down to 3 drivers, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, and Marcos Ambrose. Kyle Busch took the checkered last time around, can he do it again, or will someone like Joey Logano, Jeff Gordon, and Kevin Harvick join the mix for the win?
Entry list: http://www.jayski.com/news/stats/2014/story/_/page/22-Watkins-Glen-2014-Entry-List
The Nationwide Series joins along at Watkins Glen for a doubleheader. Keselowski, Busch, and Ambrose will all be running this race in preparation. Will they be the three to beat here, or can Brendan Gaughan surprise everyone like he did at Road America?

During first practice in NW : Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth (LOL CUPPIES) both spun their cars, the latter resulting in hitting the wall in the last turn.

Not what i saw personally. Trevor held his line, Yeley thought he was clear, and the 28 got the worst of it. IMO

I think should @landoncassill get another shot in great equipment he would get it done. His talent has improved over the last few years.

No, Cassill is probably the most underrated driver in all 3 series.

Oh and also, Kyle Busch please for once give credit to the winner of the race. He may be a very talented driver but I hate it when he doesn't own up to a collision he causes, especially when he says he wouldn't give a crap about Ambrose. Such a sore loser.

everything is just speculation, but from what I heard Tony and the other driver got in an indecent and the other driver went over to confront him and Tony Mashed the Gas and hit him. Weather he aimed at him or was just driving off is to be determined.
Also, this is why I hate Twitter, Someone like Hayden is using unconfirmed reports as actual facts,w hen all of this is just speculation heresay and rumors.

Supposedly this whole thing with Tony Stewart was at Canandiagua, and they've said on their Facebook that they have cancelled their racing activities for tonight. There's still no confirmation that Tony was involved.
Seriously, guys. Wait for a credible source first, okay? <3

If any of you remember the Todd Bertuzzi and Steve Moore incident from a decade ago, well, this is Auto Racing's equivalent.

Re: NASCAR Weekend @ The Glen
Tony Stewart, I think you should prepare to put on the Prison suit soon. What an absolutely disgusting thing to do, especially from someone who is a very accomplished driver as well, but he may have just hit an all-time low right there.
EDIT: Well, Tony will be in trouble.
RIP Kevin Ward.

Car fishtailing while just freshly under yellow... gonna be pretty hard to claim that something happened to his car right there.

Re: NASCAR Weekend @ The Glen
Also, how ironic is it that Stewart broke his leg in a Sprint Car crash at this time last year, and now a a year later he kills someone by running them over in a Sprint Car.
Re: NASCAR Weekend @ The Glen
RIP Kevin Ward, Jr.
In Stewart's defense, though, it wasn't like he intended to hit Ward. He just gassed it and the car broke loose. I guess Ward was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but for what it's worth, even if you're mad at someone, walking out onto the racetrack isn't a very bright move. Nevertheless, my condolences to Ward's family. It was a shitty situation from all sides, and people shouldn't be pointing fingers.
Will Tony Stewart's career end because of this? I don't think so. Stewart was cooperative with the police, and he was pretty upset about the whole thing too. I don't think it was intentional, though I don't think I could call it a "racing deal". I don't know if he'll race the Glen though.

Re: NASCAR Weekend @ The Glen
There is no way in this world you can defend Tony Stewart.
None.
It doesn't matter if it was intentional or not, any argument over whose fault it is ends once he decided to crack the throttle and gas it up near another car. Nothing is sadder than blaming the victim, which is what I've seen a lot of people do.

This.
When you rev it up like Tony did in that situation, he might as well get fitted for a prison jump suit. Hey, who knows, it might match his old Home Depot colors.

This is exactly what I'm predicting. Stewart murdered someone, plain and simple.
Re: NASCAR Weekend @ The Glen
Tyler Graves, a sprint-car racer and friend of Ward's, told Sporting News in a phone interview that he was sitting in the Turn 1 grandstands and saw everything that happened.
"Tony pinched him into the frontstretch wall, a racing thing," Graves said. "The right rear tire went down, he spun on the exit of (Turn) 2. They threw the caution and everything was toned down. Kevin got out of his car. … He was throwing his arms up all over the place at Tony for most of the corner.
"I know Tony could see him. I know how you can see out of these cars. When Tony got close to him, he hit the throttle. When you hit a throttle on a sprint car, the car sets sideways. It set sideways, the right rear tire hit Kevin, Kevin was sucked underneath and was stuck under it for a second or two and then it threw him about 50 yards."

Re: NASCAR Weekend @ The Glen
Victim Blaming is very rarely OK, but here I feel like Ward should get part of the blame. In an all black firesuit at night, he decides to run towards 800 hp machine while said machine is operating on a less than optimal working surface (Dirt will always be less grippy than pavement), angry or not you need to think about your actions around machinery such as this.
