I just read in Auto Action magazine that there has been another fatality this year. Rally co-driver Jamie 'Mack' McIntosh was killed when his car crashed into a tree during the 14th stage of the International Rally of Queensland. R.I.P Jamie

There was a driver killed in a Toyota Starlet a few weeks ago in Ireland too. I didn't mention it because I was getting sick of constantly reporting that people had died.Nascar9fan wrote:I just read in Auto Action magazine that there has been another fatality this year. Well, in other news, Detroit became the largest US city to file for bankruptcy today. While unsurprised, I still can't help but feel somewhat amazed (in a bad way), as this is so close by to me, and I have been to Detroit countless times.

Alex Albon, a Lotus junior driver, just took his maiden pole in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup! I once drove a kart on the same track as him about 2 years ago in a practice session and spoke to him on many other occasions-he was at the Johnny Herbert Kart Challenge back in 2007 iirc, he was mega quick. Really happy to see him up there and representing Thailand

Usally i'd like to look at the top rated comments (cause sometimes you get some funny stuff), but now they're all photos... which people copy/paste everywhere & sometimes the pictures are just wtf
I saw a picture of a man holding a cat with text saying *Look Mittins, A Faggot* like 20 times today...

Check out the Sportsman points standings in the link below. The driver of the #16 is one of my personal friends. I know that he races regularly, but I had no idea that he was the points leader in his class!

Re: Random Discussion Thread
If anyone asks about who my avatar is, 1973 Zandvoort is all I really need to say.
Yes, tomorrow will be the 40th anniversary of Roger Williamson's tragic (and completely preventable) death in the 1973 Dutch Grand Prix. It was also known for being the day which David Purley became a hero in the motorsports world, but his attempts to save Roger were unassisted and ignored by the unprepared fire marshals who actually stopped Purley's rescue attempts. I'm pretty sure nobody needs me to tell the whole thing over again, though.
Roger seemed to be a driver with a bright future, but never got much notice in the sport because he declined an offer with Tyrrell to drive for friend Tom Wheatcroft instead. One can only wonder the things Roger could have accomplished if he were still with us. Forever lost, but never forgotten. Roger Williamson (1948-1973)

The most recent of those races was on Saturday. If you look at the results page, he won his heat race and the feature race that night! I really need to go see one of his races!

You do the burnout, then reverse back to the start line, but you keep reversing to the garage. That's how you S&P in NHRA.
