Re: 2013 ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series (Rockford 100 Posted!)
Taylor has sour day, finishes 16th
Starting 7th, the driver of the #88, Lycoia, thought he could have a decent run, maybe scoring his first top-10, but a incident causing another competitor to flip, caused Cade hit the 815 which damaged his truck, but didn't need to go behind the wall.
Taylor : Well 2 races in a row that i see someone flip in front of me, but didn't get past this one. *laughs*
Taylor almost spun after contact from Billy Hefferman, but on the team radio, Taylor knew that it wasn't intentional. Sadly, Cade's engine wouldn't last and broke, sending Taylor to a 16th place finish.
The #88, RGE Motorsports Development, truck, will have a different driver at Lime Rock, Matt Brinson, is scheduled to drive in his only race with the team.
Luc Pellerin, will drive the #888 for the team, in his second career race in ATATS, he drove the #88 at Texas, finishing 18th, two laps down.

You guys have less than 24 hours to get your stuff in. If I don't have anything, be it ratings or trucks, your entry will be removed, no exceptions. If I have at least ratings, you will have until tomorrow to get your truck in.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Time's up.
All red entries will be removed. If I have ratings or truck, you have until midnight tonight to get me one or the other, but after that, you're SOL. Thanks.

LIME ROCK POLE QUALIFYING
44 trucks would show up for the inaugural running of The Memorial at Lime Rock Park, the second special event of the 2013 ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series season. Two 15 minute qualifying sessions were held to determine the front row, and how the fields will be set for the two qualifying races. 22 trucks would compete in each session.
Joe Olenick surprised everyone by winning the pole with the only time under 52 seconds: 51.871. Barry Spengler would claim the outside of the front row with a 52.001. Sentimental favorite Ryan Matthews made a spirited final effort just before the checkered flag fell in his qualifying session, but fell just 0.001 seconds short of the front row.
Full qualifying results here.

not to rush anything, but how come there hasn't been anything here since August?
Re: 2013 ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series (Rockford 100 Posted!)
Video's take time. My Watkins Glen video took nearly two months to make and I didn't even do commentary.BlueThunderfan wrote:not to rush anything, but how come there hasn't been anything here since August?

UPDATE:
Since I'm a bit behind with this series (like every other series has been this season ), I'm thinking about doing quick screencap reviews to catch up a little quicker.
HOWEVER...
If your name is on this list...
South Boston: Joshua Michaels
Nebraska: Ben Atkins
Houston: Metro 6r4
Ohio: BlueThunderfan
Kansas: BlueThunderfan
Nashville: BlueThunderfan
Berlin: Racingfreak1999
Rockford: Racingfreak1999
Shoot me a PM if you're still interested in doing a video for these races, although if you do decide to do them, I'd like for them to be done within a week or so, because I don't want the season to extend into next year.
I've run all the races up to Houston at this point, and I'm about to run Ohio. I've just been busy with work, so... yeah.
Frank should have the Lime Rock video up soon... I hope.

Re: 2013 ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series (Rockford 100 Posted!)
Due to work and shit the last 2 month, I haven't had the motivation to work on the video. But I just finished cutting out some clips, virtually cutting the video in half (I originally had about 50 minutes of clips). I do plan on finishing the video, but it will probably have to wait at least a week due to me having to work all weekend and I do plan on doing Berlin and Rockford (or at least Rockford). I'm sorry for the holdup.

Re: 2013 ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series (Rockford 100 Posted!)
I should still be able to do the Houstan video but would it be possible for it to wait a week? I'm attending my Grandmother's funeral next Monday and after that a friend from Switzerland is staying over for a week so getting near a computer is going to be a bit tough but I shall see what I can do, I may need someone to do commentary for it though. I can start editing it in the next few days if you want as I'm on holiday.

I'll pass on the Nebraska video. I'm behind on Dash Cup stuff and that's main priority as far as offline leagues go

"I don't know what the fuck Kyle Cobb was thinking, last time I checked cars were solid. We came here with a chance to win and some midfielder ruined it for us, I hope the asshole is happy, he got 27th, like that's going to help him at all."

- Spoiler:
- Vincenzo Fochesato, after the race: Considering we started 24th, I'm really happy with 15th; With this being my first road race, I wasn't expecting to finish all that well. It's a shame, though, that Aubrey (Wood) and Alessandro (Rossini) couldn't have their races go their way, but I hope I can race with them again soon! I had a lot of fun today!
Aubrey Wood, radio on lap 26: Whew! That was a close one! Thank goodness we didn't hit any (interrupted by sound of thud) ... Where the heck did that guy come from?!

DERENBERGER ISSUES A CHALLENGE TO HOWARD FOLLOWING MEMORIAL VICTORY
After a very impressive charge to win The Memorial 2013, Mike Howard has won both special events that have taken place so far, which impressed ATATS director Eric Derenberger, so much so that he issued a special challenge to Howard and Last Row Autosport.
DERENBERGER: The final special event of the season is at Rockford at the end of the season, and if Howard wins that race, he will be the first driver ever to sweep all three special events, so I'm issuing a special challenge. If Mike Howard and his team are successful in winning the Rockford 100, I will award them a half million dollars of my own money as a bonus.

Fochesato Starts First, Finishes Last
21 year-old ARLA Tornado Alley Truck series driver Vincenzo Fochesato scored his second pole position of his rookie season for the Burnarse Propane @ Nebraska, the seventh race of 2013. Unfortunately for Fochesato, after falling to the 6th position by the end of the first lap, he lost control of his Lycoia Rebel in the first set of esses on lap 3, sliding into the tire wall and becoming the first driver to drop out. He was officially scored in the 23rd position.
Shortly afterwards, reporters caught up with a clearly dejected Fochesato.
All he had to say was, "I'm happy we got bonus points for our pole."
Reportedly, his crew chief, Bobby Stevenson, turned off his radio after Fochesato would not stop apologizing during his drive back to the pit lane.
Fochesato remains ninth in the overall points standings heading into the Tai Cheese 150 at the Lone Star Supercell in Texas.

A couple of things...
If you sign up a driver and team for the Rockford 100 and they previously competed at Daytona and Lime Rock, I still have all the trucks from those races, which means you'll be good to go.
For those that sign up whose trucks I don't have, the deadline is November 30th, because I REALLY want to get Rockford done and over with so the season doesn't go to far into 2014, if at all, since I have the NPCC to get up and running.
Also, Metro 6r4 and BlueThunderfan, if you're unable to get videos done, let me know and I'll get them done instead, since I now have the capability to make videos, yay.

Will you be using the original Rockford, or the edited one with the relocated pit lane? I'm curious as to how many trucks will start the race.

AJ Hayward Comments on Past Few Races (OOC: Been a bit busy to make responses lately, so I'll put it all in one. )
AJ Hayward, while eliminated from the championship, has had an excellent season. Hayward, a Utah native, driving for a modestly funded Sheers Motorsports team has had a very respectable season in the trucks. In 12 races, Hayward has finished in the top 10 eight times, one of which was a second place at the Memorial Race. If the car did not drop a cylinder on the last run, Hayward would have likely ran away with it. While not one of the drivers with the Big 6 teams, AJ has been very competitive. Hayward told us, "It's been a nice year. I should have hung on and won the Memorial Race even with the problem. No excuses. Otherwise, I've been pleased with the season as a whole." AJ Hayward said he would enjoy returning to the team and series next season if given the chance. Sheers Motorsports has given him the option to look for offers with teams in higher series if a chance arrives, though they'd be happy to have him back.

Heading into Rockford, Fochesato Reflects on Season So Far
The Rockford 100, the finale of this year's ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series season, is approaching quickly. With the 2013 season soon to draw to a close, rookie driver Vincenzo Fochesato took time to look back on his debut season in the American Racing League of America.
"No matter what happens at Rockford, I'm very pleased with how me and the team have been able to break onto the ARLA scene this year. Honestly, my initial goals for this season were to finish races with a clean truck and a decent reputation, but we've been able to do so much more than just that! I never would have imagined being able to run with the series' best drivers and bring home top fives and pole positions. Being hired by a racing hero of mine like Alessandro [Rossini] to race for FIAM really boosted my confidence in my abilities. Admittedly, I have a tendency to understate my capabilities, but I knew that he saw something in me by putting me in one of his Master Cup cars, and I've been trying my best to prove to him and everyone else that he's right! Again, I can't thank all who have supported me enough for their contributions. I really hope that I can have another opportunity to go for the title next year! Whether or not we win it, I know it'll be a whole lot of fun! This Truck Series environment has shown me that ARLA, er... FARC, is a great place to work and race!"
Fochesato, 21, comes into the finale with a 7th place position in the points standings. During the season's final stretch of races, he has been able to score the first two podiums of his career (both were third place finishes), and was only eliminated from championship contention after the semi-final event at Sebring. Taking into account the most extreme scenarios in terms of points at Rockford, Fochesato can finish anywhere from 5th to 8th in the season standings, assuming he and/or all of his points rivals receive no penalties.

Re: 2013 ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series (Rockford 100 Posted!)
Mummert Racing withdraws from Rockford 100 due to lack of confidence about qualifying for event
Underfunded Mummert Racing, the Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based team owned by Mark Mummert, father of TM Master Cup Series driver Kraig Mummert, has decided to withdraw its 14 truck, driven by Arkansas-born rookie Jacob Walls, from the upcoming ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series season finale in Rockford, citing a lack of confidence about qualifying for the event.
The 14 team has had a mixed bag of results in 2013, most of them poor, either due to accidents or mechanical issues. Walls has finished in the Top 10 three times this season, the best of those finishes coming at Texas, where Walls finished sixth. He finished seventh in the very next race at Grand Detour, and recently recorded an eighth at Kansas, after running third during the last round of pit stops.
But the 14 truck has shown a lack of speed for the most part. Despite his sixth at Texas, Walls finished 14 seconds behind race winner Samantha Spires.
Walls recently qualified second at Sebring, and was running in the Top 10 until he made a mistake in Turn 3, losing the back end, and smashing hard into the tire barriers. He was forced to pit for repairs, and had the back end of the truck pulled off. On his way to the pits, Walls had to snake through the chaos that followed the pileup that started after polesitter Daniel Edwards spun out of the lead.
Citing the lack of race speed, Mummert decided not to make the trip to Illinois.
"I just don't know what the problem is. I know we're a new team, and we're without a sponsor, but we should be improving our race pace throughout the season, not have it be stagnant," Mummert said in an interview at the team's shop.
"I feel sorry for Jacob, because a lot of this isn't his fault. He's done a good job with what we've given him this season, and, to be honest, that isn't very much."
The team is assessing its 2014 plans, plans which they say Walls will be a part of.
"We definitely want Jacob to stick around. He and Jon Halks were childhood friends growing up in Arkansas, even though Jon didn't start racing until his CRL days. I think Jacob has a lot of natural ability, just like Jon does. Kraig thinks pretty highly of Jacob, as well."
The younger Mummert, who is piloting Middle Tennessee Motorsports' Independents Trophy entry in Master Cup this season, has been helping out at the shop when he can during his spare time, and acting as a driver coach to Walls, although, as of late, that spare time is getting more and more scant, as he and his wife, Jennifer, are expecting their second child, a daughter, around Christmas.
"Kraig's helped out when he can, but with the new baby on the way, and a young son at home, he's got to be at home to help out Jennifer as much as he can. Plus, he's got the end of the Master Cup season coming up, and his team can win the Independents' Trophy, so, he's got a lot on his plate."
"I definitely think Jacob has a future in this sport," Kraig Mummert said. "I'm sure it's disappointing not to be going to Rockford, but, he's got a good head on his shoulders, and I'm sure he understands."
Mummert's assessment on Walls isn't far off, from talking to the young star.
"I'm disappointed with how the season has gone, and I'm upset that we're missing Rockford, but, we have to look at the bigger picture," Walls said. "We're going to spend this extra time during the offseason looking at our plans for 2014, and, we plan on coming back strong, so everybody should watch out."

ROCKFORD 100 PRE-RACE REPORT
30 drivers will be taking the green flag for the ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series season-ending Rockford 100, but all eyes will be focused on just two. With Megan Driver needing to win the pole just to remain eligible for the championship, the title run has come down to two drivers: a Truck rookie, Tammy Barnton, and a Truck veteran, Zach Gott. Barnton comes in with a 65 point advantage over Gott, and in a worse case scenario, needs only to finish 6th or better to clinch the championship her cousin Lucy lost by just 1 point last year to Michael White. Series director Eric Derenberger, who will be overseeing his final ATATS race before moving over to the newly formed National Pro Cup Championship, gave his thoughts on the title battle.
ERIC DERENBERGER: One thing's for sure. As far as the championship's concerned, you know the 13 and 71 teams are gonna give it their all. They want the honor of being called the final ARLA Truck champion before the sanctioning body changes its name, and that carries a lot of weight. So I think we're gonna see one helluva race.
Gott will also be making the transition to the NPCC after this season. Barnton was planning on doing the same, but there are rumors that she might be receiving offers from some high-tier FARC Elite Series teams for 2014.
