2013 ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series (Rockford 100 Posted!)

As a side note, the reason I'm putting this in a new thread is so that I can edit the page whenever I need to.

The ARLA Tornado Alley Truck Series, named after its abundance of races in the "tornado alley" region of the United States, is seen as an attractive starting point for teams and drivers who can't quite afford to field a team in the Elite Series. There are a few Elite Series teams that field trucks in this series as development for up and coming drivers, but most of the grid is made up of unknown names working with tiny budgets.

So far, the manufacturers that will be available for use this season will be SAAR and Lycoia, although more may become available. Teams will be allowed to use their own engines.

The ASA Speed Trucks mod will be used this season.

Anyone interested in signing up MUST put their team in the unconfirmed team chart. It will remain there until either I or Ceej approves the entry. There are 17 spots available out of 20, due to me and Ceej reserving spots for our teams (obviously). There may be one-off sign-ups for Daytona and Rockford, although it is more likely that it will be Daytona due to the track being able to hold 42 trucks. Also, the number of sign-ups is unlimited, but only 20 drivers will make the full-time grid. However, there will be 10 part-time spots available if your team isn't accepted on the full-time roster, and there will probably be up to 30 one-off entries for Daytona.

Send completed trucks to my PM box. Car files are preferred, please.

Also, Ceej has the final say on who will get in.

Also, if I decide to hand out penalties for fail driving, you can appeal said penalties, and Ceej will decide whether or not the penalty was warranted. Once again, all rulings made by Ceej are final.

Ratings system:

There are three categories in NR2003, two for the driver and one for the car. You pick the base ratings based on your driver's experience level, then add +15, +10, +5 and -5 to each section.

SECTION 1: Driver Style

Aggression
Consistency
Finishing
Qualifying

SECTION 2: Driver Skills By Track Type

Road Course
Short Track
Speedway
Superspeedway

SECTION 3: Car (Team owners fill out this part)

Aerodynamics
Chassis
Engine
Reliability

Bases for drivers...

Level 5 - Past ARLA Elite Series Champions/Truck Champions/TMMC and Lights drivers (with at least 10 starts): 30-70
Level 4 - ARLA Elite Series veterans (with at least 10 starts): 30-65
Level 3 - Winners in Tornado Alley Trucks or at least 5 top 10's in 2012: 30-60
Level 2 - Raced Last Season: 30-55
Level 1 - Rookies: 30-50

Bases for trucks...

Level 4 - TMMC/Lights/ARLA/Past Truck Champion Teams: 30-60
Level 3 - Race Winning Teams in Tornado Alley Trucks: 30-55
Level 2 - Tornado Alley Truck Regulars (raced at least one season): 30-50
Level 1 - New Teams/One Off Teams with no experience: 30-45

As for videos, for right now, it's unlikely that I'll be able to do any videos, due to my computer being a piece of crap, but I'll try my best to post videos. It's more likely I'll post write-ups and screenshots of each of the races. But, if there are any interested parties that would like to make a video of said races, I'll provide the replay, carset and track of the race on the main page as well. All you have to do is let me know.

Can't add it right now, but The Racing Team would like to return with the same car number (50).

Something I want to add here: even if your team doesn't make the full-time chart, I might add a part-time roster. Also, I'm probably gonna post the Daytona one-off chart as well for anyone who wants to participate.

You'll have plenty of time to get your trucks in, as the season won't start until probably the end of February/beginning of March.

That doesn't mean procrastinate and wait until the last second to get your stuff in. Remember, the earlier you can get your trucks in, the more likely your entry will be on the full-time roster.

Don't worry, I'll get on what I need to for the template. If I had known what mod it was going to be, I would have done that template too.

ASA Speed Trucks uses PWF CTS bodies.

Important announcement: please hold off on having trucks made for right now. Ceej is in the process of updating the templates for the Tornado Alley Trucks. Contingencies will probably not be on the trucks, and the tire supplier will become Duckroll.

Also, do not put in any requests until your entry is approved. I don't want to instill any false hope on anybody, and I don't want you to have trucks painted for nothing.

So for now, hold off on requests or painting trucks until your entry is approved by Ceej and I, and the templates have been updated. I apologize if I've caused any confusion. If you have any questions, send them to my PM box. Thank you.

Some of these entries are not getting in solely because they are involved in other series. It is not reasonable for one organization to field entries in completely different classes of racing. Coming up with new teams is not hard.

Along with a Dash Cup Part time entry, Empire Inc.'s Racing division is hoping to enter a full time and part time team to get some driver development as well as help boost it's standing in different series.

"We'd like to apply for John Castillo to drive the #85 for the 2013 Season and for Joel Rodriguez to drive the #86 in selected races. The #86 will most likely only run three events in 2013. We will be using the Lycoia chassis and body combination with JINX Inc. providing it's developmental engines. Sponsors have yet to be sompletely decided as we have some smaller companies in our roster looking for a piece."- Empire Inc. Board of Directors

(OOC-Instead of Castilo, I could pick up a driver that lost a ride for 2013 if it'll help. Or I could bring back Matt Smith{vipercar3} from obscurity since he was kicked out of TMMC back in 2008 or 2009.)

I don't think yours need to be changed, I think he meant more in regrets to teams that are mainly competing in Dash Cup and such.

Now that Ceej has sent me the Duckroll tire mips, I'm now making some of my selections for the full-time grid, so if you see your team on the chart, you may put in a request to have a truck painted, or if you can paint one yourself, send me your truck through PM. Remember, car files are preferred.

It means you're good to go

Red means I don't have the truck or ratings.

Yellow means I have ratings but no truck.

Green means I have the truck but no ratings.

Blue means I have the truck and ratings and your team is good to go.

Typically, you put your entries in the unconfirmed team chart, but both the full-time and part-time slots have been filled.

BUT.....

There's still plenty of spots open for the Daytona One-Off, and there will more than likely be one at Rockford as well.

Almost forgot to mention: If your team is a part-time team, you can select up to three events to run. This does not include Daytona and Rockford, since those are one-off events, and Eldora only holds 20 cars.

Will there be a comment rule?

Working on my truck right now. I may also be interested in making a video for a race every once in a while if that's okay.

Certainly.

Couple of updates: for part-time teams, there will be only three part-time trucks per race (this does not include Daytona and Rockford). At this point, Salem and Montgomery are full. You don't have to send your team's part-time schedule to my PM. Just go to the TMPedia page and put your team's number in the part-time slot, provided it's not full yet.

Also, there's still plenty of slots open for Daytona, so if you want your team to participate, get them in while you can.

One last note: ALL TRUCKS AND RATINGS MUST BE IN TO ME BY NEXT FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2013. DEADLINE IS AT MIDNIGHT. If I don't have your truck, your entry will be removed. Another team will be selected to take their place if it is a full or part-time entry. If I have your truck but not your ratings, your truck will still get to race, but will have ratings of 25-25.

If anyone is wondering whether or not I have your truck and ratings, all you have to do is look at the chart on TMPedia to find out. I update it whenever I get ratings and trucks, so be sure to check back often.

Just a heads-up, everyone has FIVE DAYS to get their trucks and/or ratings in.

I'd be more than happy to do videos for you if you'd like, as I'm trying to get the experience.

Well, if you're not that good at painting but still want to get a truck to me before the deadline, a white truck with black numbers or vise versa will suffice as well. But if you have a request, I'll allow an extra day for someone to paint the truck.

Speaking of which, the deadline for getting your stuff in is TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. If you haven't sent me anything as far as ratings or trucks go, your entry will be removed, because you've had ample time to get your stuff in. If you've gotten your ratings or truck in but still need time for one or the other, I'll allow you until MIDNIGHT TOMORROW to get your stuff in.
