Dan Leckiter won the pole and dominated after breaking several ribs and his right index finger in an accident involving the stairs at New York Autoring.

Johnny Yahto and Greg Woodard were running side-by-side when Woodard slid up the track and got sideways coming off of Turn 4 on lap 2. Woodard smoked the tires for a little bit, then continued on without a problem after that excellent save.

Caution 1 came out on lap 3 when Damon Jones and Gavriella Apollou were running side-by-side. Jones slapped the wall off of Turn 4 and came down into Apollou, who spun across the track. No other cars were collected.

Caution 2 came out on lap 25 when Casey Lester got tired of David Hetzel's slowness and just dumped him in Turn 3. Hetzel slid up the track backwards and... HELLO FLINT STONEMAN! Stoneman would drop out of the race from damage.

The 3rd and final caution flew on lap 34 when Ryan Jefferies, trying to work his way up to 12th, runs into Greg Woodard. He kept his foot in it and slammed into the inside wall, totalling his car.

The race would finish under caution. Isaac Michaels makes his debut, and Tommy Urban makes his first start of the season. Andrew Tammerzan and Ramsey Coqinner qualify for their first races since Road Atlanta.

Fazi D'Annenzo after the race: "I really don't know what's going on man.. this season's been a disaster..."

Gavriella: "I guess Damon Jones can't seem to race in a decent fashion for some reason. You can;t be that claustrophobic when you got people running side by side. The wall is not the answer.. I knew this stuff when I was like, five.. and now our season's on the brink of collapse thanks to this kid."

Ramsey Coquinner: "Whew! I finally made the race, which proves to me one thing: there are no hot ladies in Carbondale, Illinois. I got too distracted in Vegas and New York, which is where I have done most of my work. I don't know how I'm gonna get through the weekend without my hot honeys. Oh well."

Casey Lester: Well, I'm attempting to make a race for once this season and I didn't apprectiate Pretzel jamming up the field. Best nickname ever, by the way. No disrespect, but when you hold me up, I'll be quick to dump you. I could really use a race that I qualify for and this team could use it, too.

Brian Gallagher: There is this girl in the paddock area who keeps asking me out. She ain't easy on the eyes. Worst part is, she spent her High School Carrer in Bay Village Ohio and moved back to Illinois once she left High School. I think I was a senior when she was a Freshman... Good Riddence!

Nicholas Korodovos: Damn, this hot dog sucks. I am making a petition that all race tracks that hold PCC Cup Series tracks have Grade A meat in there hot dogs. I swear this hot dog is made out of some species of actual dog.

Retro80 Racing Back at Full Strength

Stringfellow Vincent has served his one race suspension, and both he and Richard Dean MacGyver made it through the Carbondale qualifier. Those 2 will join the surprising Pete Maverick who was already in the field because of his stellar driving this season.
