As predicted, Terra International Motorsports once again fails at short track racing. Woodard found himself docked of his race winnings due to the damage he caused. He agrees that it was the right thing to do. The team boss has sent the money to teams that were impacted by the incident

"I'm really sorry about what happened." Woodard was out of shape when talking to reporters. "I just lost control the car due to missing the groove on the track." He apologized and agreed to have his race winnings docked to repay the teams and drivers for damages associated with the incident. Woodard had taken a break from the ARLA scene to race in the TMMC... His first race back was nothing short of miserable. He finished 2 laps down in 15th. But he felt like he stabbed his own teammates in the back during the race after causing the incident. Kelly Splison wasn't too happy with what happened while Ryon Reffett was rather 'out of it.'

Kelly Splison was injured with a broken arm and a broken knee due to the incident. She will most likely retire until mid-season 2013. Jack Dempsey has been called in to take her place in the 42. Reffett's condition was clear and he will be able to participate the remaining races.

Kuznetsov not penalized, Xenos protests

One of the more controversial moments of the Mr. Cobb's 200 was Yevgeny Kuznetsov passing Ramsey Coquinner and Leigh Gruell under yellow while the field was heading to the pits.

The Fatherland Vodka car ultimately escaped a penalty, because it was determined that the cars he had passed were not up to pace due to a stack-up heading into turn 3.

However, Xenos Development, the team that fields Gruell's #46 Hanmore Xenos, has protested ARLA's decision to not penalize Kuznetsov. Xenos development team boss Ron Billings claimed, "It wasn't our fault we got held up by the idiots screwing around ahead of us. The 82 should've been black-flagged as well as the top half of the field for going 20 when the pace speed's 60."

Kuznetsov finished 14th, while Gruell finished 19th, 2 laps down. It is unclear if Kuznetsov's pass affected the results in this manner.

Zavala critical of racing quality after rude introduction

Venezuelan open-wheel driver Mariano Zavala was looking forward to his first stock car race, but Xenos Development's new driver ended up frustrated with his competition after being caught up in multiple accidents, the last of which sent him rolling over the top of Scott Morales's #78 Marlisle Inglesby.

"It is disgusting how bad everyone is here!" Barked Zavala, "I got caught in stupid bullshit all night long."

Despite this outburst from Zavala, he is expected to return to the #47 Xenos next week at Memphis.

Lane Cranston: "Good to finish 12th and start on the front row with the new sponsor. We would've finished higher if [Kevin] Monroe hadn't been driving like a maniac coming to the yellow."

Morales finishes 8th despite damage
Scott Morales led his first laps of the season and had a top 10 finish at Iowa despite late race pile-up and having debutante driver Mariano Zavala roll over the top of him.

"These people need to learn how to drive, they cost me a top 5, Memphis will be better, I know it."

Rayman Thanks M-Pire After Iowa

Saturday saw a dream come true for Black Jack, Missouri plumber Bartolomeu "Bart" Rayman, as he was able to race in a race car for the first time ever, thanks to the M-Pire "Drive The Dream" program. Rayman started 40th for the first race of the Mr. Cobb's 200 at the Iowa Speedway. Even though he came home 37th with a tad bit of damage to the rear end, he was very grateful for the opportunity to drive in the ARLA Elite Series.

"I can't believe I was able to do that. That was incredible. It's truly a dream come true. I would like to thank M-Pire and ARLA for this opportunity. I guess that car accident that made me go to M-Pire was a blessing in disguise. Hopefully I wasn't too much of a nuisance out there. I would also like to say that I was able to keep my job as a plumber. Thanks again to M-Pire and to ARLA," said a jubilant Rayam.

It was later brought to the media's attention that in his "Drive The Dream" application he stated that he was at jeopardy of losing his job as a plumber.

Nondescript day for the Matthews bunch:
While a dull day at the office wasn't what Tiffany Matthews had hoped for, she was nonetheless thankful for the tedium.

"I've gotten used to the anonymity lately," she said after finishing 23rd in her round - exactly where she qualified. "I've been really trying to fly under the radar a little bit, especially after all the things that happened earlier in the year. I think getting canned from my TM Lights car humbled me a bit, and to be honest, I don't mind getting less attention lately. I'm letting my driving do the talking."

She dropped to a seventh-place tie in the points standings with Leslie Riggs.

Tiffany wasn't alone in her anonymity, as husband Ryan, who was enjoying a break from his TM Master Cup schedule, had a similar race with a slightly better result, as he came home in 12th.

"I'd have liked to have scored a top 10, but this wasn't a top 10 car," he said. "I'm happy to bring the I.W. Eagle Lenard home in one piece, which is naturally the ultimate goal, especially for a guy who's moonlighting in this series like I am."

Matthews has one more scheduled race remaining, the event at the New York Autoring. He will also attempt the Rockford 200.

2012 Race 17 (Mr. Cobb's 200) Empty Re: 2012 Race 17 (Mr. Cobb's 200)

PSI Dominates @ Iowa!

When we say "domination," we mean the complete and utter kind. In Race 1 of the Mr. Cobb's 200, Rip Tyler moved up 20 spots to capture his second win of the 2012 season.
"Finally!" Tyler shouted elatedly. "I finally won a normal race under normal conditions. I've won on ice and dirt and I heard the all the talk that I was a crazy surface specialist. It's nice to finally put all those rumors to rest!" The win moved Tyler into 4th place in the championship standings.
Also adding to the festivities was the fact that Libby Bell made it 1-2 finish at Iowa. "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated," spoke an enthusiastic Bell. "I'm just glad I didn't wipe up the rear at the Mr. Cobb's All Natural Toilet Tissue 200," joked Bell. "The new paint job seems to have done the trick!" Bell was the Hard Charger of race award as she moved up 23 spots. Bell also moved up into 12th place in the overall championship standings despite a horrible downward mid-season spiral that became a nasty slump.
In Race 2, Bigsby Foote shook off the label as a one hit wonder this season, and joined his teammates in the 2012 two win club.
"That was fun!" Foote exclaimed. "We were good from start to finish tonight-- especially in the pits. I felt like no one could touch us." Foote won despite getting caught up behind the troublesome lapped car of PATRICK HENDERSON. "Yeah, I thought that it coulda put a huge damper on the whole evening, but everything worked out fine."
Foote not only won the race, he led the most laps, and was the Hard Charger of the race as well.

Of course all of this had owner William Power beaming. "What a night! An owner always dreams of a night like tonight and I got to live the dream for real. All our moves paid dividends and it feels wonderful to capture 2 wins and a second place. Tonight makes all the struggles we've been suffering from this season worth it. I hope Tonare is paying attention! I love Iowa!" Power exclaimed.
"Almost makes me want to see who would have won if all 3 of our cars were in the same race... almost," Power said with a smile. "I don't think anybody had anything for us tonight, except maybe the Quiggles, Jr car. If not for a series of rotten pit stops, I'm afraid he may have blown our doors off. Just what kind of rocket fuel are those guys running? Seriously, ARLA officials need to look into that. We were definitely the class of the field tonight and still would have gotten smoked. Something's obviously rotten in Denmark."
