Re: 2012 Race 7 (Four Corners 200)
- Spoiler:
- Woodard's ARLA career continues to spoil itself at Toronto
Greg Woodard once again failed to finish due to other drivers using him as a battering ram. Both Jennifer Goodwin and Lawrence Burr on two separate occasions, took Woodard for a spin. Goodwin, as Woodard put it, lacked enough control of her car to stop it from tagging him and sending them into the outside tire barriers. Burr on the other hand just turned Woodard into the inside tire barriers, turning a mediocre day into a terrible one.
"Maybe GBR will rethink Burr after the race." Woodard told reporters after the race, "He just went crazy on several drivers. They need to get their acts together."

- Yevgeny Kuzentsov wins in popular victory, celebrates with vodka
After holding off Benji Flynn on a late restart, Yevgeny Kuznetsov held on to win his first-ever ARLA Elite Series race at Four Corners. Kuznetsov, affectionately known as "Kuzzie" by his adoring fanbase, gave his thoughts on the race after his victory burnout. "УРААААААААААААААААА!!!!!! It is finally time for team to celebrate! We come to America last year with Tolyatti Team Boss Vitaly buy from Vitaly Karpenko and we run good, not cause many accident and get finish in top-10s. But now, we start own program with own cars and support from Tolyatti and win has finally been achieve! It was glorious day today, I thought pink car with exhausts like old cars back home behind me challenge for lead, but Paul Lyons make him not challenge. I think American Elite Series of ARLA official not like when vodka in circle of victory, but we tell them it only sponsor deal, so we drink until sun go down! Today is greatest day of my life!!!! KUZZIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Karjala, prepare yourself for race full of secret. - Spoiler:
- Makoto Yamada Sneaks into 7th Place
Makoto Yamada had his strongest run of the season today with a quiet, well-earned 7th place finish. A mix of accidents, engine failures, and bad luck has set Yamada's season back until this point. Yamada told us, "This is the run the team deserved. We have ran great this year many times and just haven't got the finishes to show for it. Today was an example of we can achieve. Btw, congrats to Kuzzie on the win. He's the type of guy everyone likes."

Re: 2012 Race 7 (Four Corners 200)
- Spoiler:
- Nikos Kastapolous after the 16th place finish at Four Corners:
"Well, thanks Laura for uh, giving me a stripe for no reason. Heh heh, well you know these drivers that have been given a full ride with large teams throughout her ARLA career, you know they hate guys like us who do everything ourselves I guess. Whatever, no hard feelings though, we still got a top 20 finish out of it, proud of the guys for making something out of nothing, you know big step for our team to pull that one off, but we'll go ahead with Karjala, do our thing there and get set for Mosport next week!"
Re: 2012 Race 7 (Four Corners 200)
- Spoiler:
- Furious Cranston surprisingly rips "idiotic" Graham
Lane Cranston had yet another points-paying run going for he and his MT Motorsports team in the opening race of the 7th round of the ARLA Elite Series season at Four Corners in Toronto.
Cranston had made up a lap he had lost on the pit cycle from the Lap 54 incident between Raibaert Scott and Carlo de Pretto, and had a great chance for a Top 10 finish, until the Lap 76 accident that took him out.
Fresh off a restart, Jessica Graham tried to go down to the inside of Taylor Brillon out of Turn 1, only for Graham to turn Brillon into the inside tire wall, causing Brillon to bounce back out into traffic, collecting Graham, Cranston, and Jason Teller.
Cranston was not pleased with the move, as he felt it cost MT Motorsports a good finish.
"It was idiotic of [Graham] to do that," Cranston said. "We had gotten our lap back, and were looking to move through the field. I don't know where she thought she had a hole, her car wouldn't have fit down there. It was stupid."
Cranston, who started 12th, ended up finishing 22nd. As per ARLA's new regulation that you must finish a race to score points, Cranston did not collect any points today.

- No Points for MRD as All Four Teams Crash Out, Leaving Delgado Furious in Finland
MRD Motorsports continued to underachieve at Toronto this afternoon. In fact, they underachieved so much that they ended up achieving absolutely nothing. All four of their cars wrecked out of Race #1 of the Four Corners 200, leaving team representatives fuming, and sending team owner Tom Delgado into quite the rage back in Finland.
"It's unacceptable" Delgado said in a conference call. "There should never be a situation where all four of our cars wreck out, three of them not of their own doing. I am stunned at race officials for not doing anything about the wrecks, because that first race was an absolute farce" Delgado added, as he stewed about, pacing back and forth during his Skype teleconference. "Don't get me wrong, Toronto's a great racing town, but I'm not so sure that the Four Corners track is suitable towards the kind of racing ARLA loves to put on, because we have a whole hell of a lot of torn up race cars, and it's a damn shame"
None of the MRD drivers scored points, and the highest points position driver in the team remains Joseph Howard, but he has fallen to 18th.

Post-race confrontation between Hetsuno and Brillon
There are multiple reports emerging of an altercation between Kiriki Hetsuno and Taylor Brillon that occurred during the first round of the Four Corners 200.
Hetsuno had been taken out of the race after contact between her and Brillon. Brillon crashed out later in the race. After Brillon wrecked out, witnesses say that Hetsuno cornered her and got into a shouting match with her. Hetsuno then reportedly raised her arm as if to punch Brillon, then stormed off.
Hetsuno and Brillon recently had a confrontation a Piqua, in which Brillon spun Hetsuno in the pitlane over a minor off-track incident. However, series officials decided not to penalize their latest actions.

Re: 2012 Race 7 (Four Corners 200)
- Spoiler:
- Matthews finishes homecoming race in confusing fashion:
Tiffany Matthews had a lot of reasons to feel confident in her return to her home country.
She was starting in the top 10 in Round 1, and had stayed up there most of the event. On top of that, she had associate sponsor Tiffany Blues on board for this race, the first of a number of races the blues restaurant chain will be the primary sponsor.
But it was the final 10 laps where her decent run descended into confusion, as she was called to Race Control for what was called an "improper restart".
Matthews, who finished in 11th as the first car one lap down, had a different version of what happened on that final restart.
"I was told to restart where I was," she said. "I didn't even know I was a lap down. Of course, if I knew that I'd have restarted on the inside line. I guess the communications got garbled or something.
"I do apologize to everybody I held up," she added. "I'm a better driver than that."
Matthews was the highest-finishing Canadian in Round 1 by virtue of her 11th-place finish.
"That's really cool, eh?" she said jokingly. "No, it's really awesome to perform as well as I did in front of the home crowd. I grew up about an hour from here, and raced here quite a bit when I was younger. I just wish I could've gotten a better result."

Re: 2012 Race 7 (Four Corners 200)
Congratulations Kuzzie, but you might want to get a new theme song other than Hymn of the USSR. When somebody's sickle has been hammered as much as yours has, it's time to move on.

It's not actually the Hymn of the USSR. It's "Farewell of Slavianka" which is actually an old Tsarist patriotic march that was used as an unofficial anthem by Kolchak's anti-Bolshevik White Army, which is about as far from Soviet as you can get.

I know it wasn't the Bolshevik song. I've been wanting to use that line for a REALLY long time. That said, I was unaware that his theme song is the White Army Tsarist march.
