Am I the only one who thinks Earl is like a even more nasally version of John Andretti? >_>
Re: 2012 Race 6 (FABricators 250)
- Spoiler:
- Zins furious after accident at Quincy
Zachary Zins left his destroyed car in anger after wrecking out at Quincy. He had choice words about the incident.
"THOSE MOTHERF$*KERS IN THE NWO PUT CHEMTRAILS INTO MY EXHAUST! I'LL FIND THEM!"
Re: 2012 Race 6 (FABricators 250)
- Spoiler:
- Bad Luck hits Terra International Motorsports at Quincy
The three drivers for the team were thrown around like ping-pong balls at the Second Round of the FABricators 250.
Woodard: After falling off the pace, ran over Nami Mura, and then got hit by other drivers...
Reffett: Rolled over by Dudding and then he got into Benji Flynn and caused a major pile-up in the process.
Splison: Got turned by Alex Carson and clipped by fellow teammate Woodard, she was given a DNF
The drivers issued apologies to all the drivers and teams that they were the source of misery for. However for Splison, there was a request for Alex Carson to apologize for her incident. The team hoped they could move on from this race, Woodard also hoped that this was NOT a precursor to the TMMC round of Quincy later in the year.

Re: 2012 Race 6 (FABricators 250)
(OOC: Glad to hear Earl in the main broadcast along with Scott.)
- Spoiler:
- Matthews survives Grand Detour, comes home 17th:
Tiffany Matthews seemed unusually happy for someone who finished 17th in her round of the FABricators 250.
"I survived," she said. "There were a few points there where I thought I was gonna get it. With my recent luck, I almost expected it."
"I'll say this: I've gotten a lot better at accident avoidance recently," she added. "I guess this race really showed that. Though I'd really have liked to have a better finish, I'll take whatever points I can get."
Next up for Matthews is the Canadian tour - events the native of Hamilton, Ontario has had circled on her calendar since the schedule was announced.
"I'm really looking forward to racing in front of the home fans," she said. "It'll be the first time I've raced there since my late-model days. I can't wait."

Re: 2012 Race 6 (FABricators 250)
- Spoiler:
- Lane Cranston: "I'm very happy to finish period, let alone 17th. If [Ryon] Reffett hadn't sat in the racing line after he and [Derek] Dudding got together, there wouldn't have been a big wreck, and I wouldn't have hit Phil [Summers]. The collision with Phil really affected our car's performance. If we hadn't got caught up in the wreck, we might've been in contention for a Top 5 finish."

Re: 2012 Race 6 (FABricators 250)
(OCC: Have to agree with Ryan here, good change of pace Ceej.)
- Spoiler:
- More gets top 10 in 2nd start, apologizes for involvement in Bates/Sweeney crash
Jim More's 2nd ARLA start as an owner/driver was anything but ordinary. After starting 17th, the Great Lakes Motorsports owner ended the day with a 10th place finish.
After his race though, More was more concerned in finding Jason Bates and Lucas Sweeney. The 3 drivers collided on lap 40 in a crash that saw Sweeney slide for a minute on his roof before coming back on all four wheels. More was seen talking with Sweeney and was on his way to find Bates when he gave his thoughts on the race to a local reporter.
"It was crazy out there. You have guys out there driving it's the last lap and others not willing to give room. I think Jason [Bates] thought he was clear and I had my nose there and we all came together. I hate it for Lucas though and that's why I wanted him to know how I felt. I like that we got a top 10, but that's not the way I wanted it."
Afterword, More was seen talking to Bates. What was said between More and Bates, and between More and Sweeney hasn't been confirmed.

Looks like a lot of drivers saw the TMMC races at Brands Harch and in France and thought 'well let's drive like them for a change'

De Pretto 12th in Debut
Carlo De Pretto had a very rough debut at Quincy in the 2nd heat of the FABricators 250, but came through the chaos and brought his #26 Xoron Nemoto in 12th place, 3 laps down.
"The car was very slow, yes? It was tough day, but I'm glad we made for 12th place. Hopefully brighter days, right?" De Pretto said in very broken English before giving interviews in Italian.

Madrigal getting much needed top 10
In a season that so far has been labeled "chaotic", Michael Madrigal secured his first top 10 of the season at Quincy.
"This is a run we desperately needed, the car cooperated and worked well this week and we finally got to show it on the field"
While his race went for the most part clean, there was a moment when he took the lead that he called "the scariest part of the race."
"I would've gotten around Walker eventually but when I saw Allie suddenly appear between both of us I felt my heart jump because, honestly I wouldn't have been surprised if we wrecked then and there if it was a second earlier or later, guess that was simply the beginning of what would happen all day."
Grahams day ends in a rough Top 15
Grahams day turned around after contact with Zins started her turmoil in the race before being apart of the accident involving Jason Teller and Gary DeSouza, which left her car hanging on the guard rail, costing her 4 laps.
"I was just lucky that a lot more drivers were apparently not paying attention to race one, where if you try a dive like that in the turns unless you can drive the car you're going to push, course we probably wouldn't have had to worry about being in that wreck that much if that lunatic in the 99 removed the tinfoil from his visor and focused on actually driving instead of believing that he's being controlled, but hey we'll take this finish, the important thing is now our engine program seems to be motivated so that is one less worry for us, we are just getting closet to our first win, you know how it is, taking small steps to get there."

Ashby survives Quincy with 14th place
Trey Ashby managed to finish Quincy despite getting his car stuck on the guardrail. "I was scared when the car started flying, I'm glad I still finished" Ashby dodged other accidents and plans to run the Mini Indy 500.

Holden Roberts Comments
"I'm not just doing as well as we should. Last year was great! We just haven't shown as much speed this year as last. Maybe its the lack of team-mates and sponsor dollars or maybe its just me and the crew. Who's to say? We need to get better. that's all I can say.

You know your driver's a shameful excuse for a human being when they've raced the whole season and they're behind a guy in points that has only raced two races. *coughkevinmonroecough*

- Spoiler:
- Nikos Kastapolous again breaks his personal best today with a ninth place finish at Quincy, and when he talked to reporters post race, he was washed up but estatic as anyone has ever seen him.
"Oh man, did that really happen?" he said, "I mean, i went from about 25th and then i just rocketed after one of those cautions late, and I don't know man my crew chief (Konstantinos Kyparidis) just told me to keep on driving! Im just lovin it man, that was a great run nad just the kinda thing we're lookin for, and hats off to everyoen at TRE and at the shop!"
Kas is now 43rd in points, 290 behind leader Libby Bell
Re: 2012 Race 6 (FABricators 250)
- Spoiler:
- #12 survives wreckage, Brinson "satisfied" with team effort
After a 3 race hiatus, the #12 Brinson Enterprises team returned to the track at Grand Detour hoping to ride the momentum gained from a top-10 debut outing. Although not quite the stellar outing the team had at Carbondale, Ashby once again impressed with a solid 14th place finish after preservering through a wreck filled race.
In the off weeks leading to Race 6, team owner Matthew Brinson continued to work towards developing setup packages and again ran another short testing session at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Despite adknowledging the suprisingly quick pace displayed by the #12 at Carbondale, Brinson continued to stick to his part-time plans in order to prepare develop both driver and car for next year's full season assault.
"There's no doubt in my mind that we suprised a lot of people after that first race with our relative quickness, including myself" says Brinson. "All of the prep back at the shop paid off and we were rewarded with a great debut in the top-10. However, we can't let ourselves think that we are in any shape or form a consistent contender. We had a good run and everything fell into place, but we've gotta keep pushing ourselves each day to make it a mission to improve this car. Yes, we may have a decent package here but we can't let that go to waste by letting our guard up. It's crucial that we continue to keep up the hard work and further refine all of the rough edges so that we can head into 2013 on the ground running."
Despite all of the extra preparation, it seemed that the FAP Pens Kivett lacked the speed shown in Carbondale as Ashby could do no better than 21st in qualifying. Still a respectable effort however for a part time team in only their second race, though much was left to be expected come race day.
Before the race, driver Trey Ashby was told to stay calm and keep the car clean; never could those words have been any truer. In a race full of carnage and bent sheet metal, Ashby managed to avoid trouble and maintain a quick race pace despite backing the #12 into the guardrail. The team rallied to repair the damage and Ashby brought the car home 14th at the end of the day.
"It's a very respectable result for the small organization we are" Brinson said in a post race interview. "With everything that went on out there, I'm simply glad that Trey remained cool and brought the car home in one piece. It's very evident that we have a cohesive group of guys here behind the wall as we never gave up and continued to work on the toe out of the car after we were involved in that big accident. All and all, you can't complain about a top-15 finish; we're still a lot further than where we thought we would be right now and Trey has proven to be a very capable driver. Still, we leave here with a lot to work on and there's much to do in order to get ready for IRP in a few weeks".
The next outing for the #12 FAP Kivett will be at the Mini Indy 500.
