- Spoiler:
- The "speeding penalties" were due to a problem where a car would be held in its pit stall until the rest of the field left. I have no idea why this happened, and it plagued the original Buffalo Downs too.

- Spoiler:
- Carlo De Pretto Benefits from Tanaka's Choke, Wins from Pole in Race 1 ahead of Gaffigan & Howard, Hetsuno Blows Up Again in Race 2
Score one for Italy & (former) pay drivers everywhere!
The only time that Carlo De Pretto has ever won a race is when the rest of his competitors all fell out through crashes or mechanical failures. He never told anyone that at the time, De Pretto was running 9th in that race, one lap down. Now he never has to tell that story again, because this win means a lot more.
"This is a great feeling to have after having a great car!" De Pretto said after celebrating in victory lane. He proceeded to open up all the champagne bottles set up in victory lane for the winner to spray, and started drinking each bottle. "This is only time I have the drink! Forza Italia! Forza MRD! Forza De Pretto!!!" The increasingly drunk De Pretto added before passing out from drinking all the champagne. Apparently we now know that Carlo De Pretto is a lightweight when it comes to the bubbly.
Meanwhile, watching the celebration was Kyle Gaffigan, who once again had to settle for 2nd place. Amidst rumors that his position at MRD Motorsports was gone at the end of 2012, Gaffigan turned in a top display, coming back from a questionable speeding penalty. "We came so close again. I'm tired of being the bridesmaid! Now there are gonna be more pictures of me wearing dresses!" Gaffigan said, citing an MRD ritual where if one of their drivers finishes 2nd to another MRD driver, the 2nd placed finisher has to wear a dress.
Joseph Howard had a quiet day, finishing 5th and moving up to 15th in the championship. He was not immediately available for comment, but that's just how Howard is. He lets his results do the talking, which is the kind of veteran driver that MRD Motorsports owner Tom Delgado had been looking for to lead his band of personalities.
Unfortunately, the only bad egg in this bright day for MRD was another engine failure for Kiriki Hetsuno. After starting 3rd in race #2, she blew up under caution and would be the only MRD driver to not have anything to celebrate. Her future is unclear at this point, but she's not being done any favors by the engineers of the team, who at last check, were not fired yet. However, by the time we get back to the United States, I'm sure Delgado will have done away with them.

- Dempsey finishes a quiet 12th after getting as high as 5th place at Saitama
Round 1 for Jack Dempsey was rather quiet as he finishes 12th while trying to get back to the front after pitting with half the field from 5th place. He told reporters that he actually liked that track and hoped it was raced on again.

- Spoiler:
- Gavin DeGray certainly was greatful for the 20th place finish after getting clipped in the first big one in the 2nd heat.
"Well! I guess that spin would make someone with weak constitutions need a pants change doesn't it? Haha well I'm definitely proud for getting the car undamaged to finish the race. It's certainly been a great learning race, heck I finished close to my career best in PCC so I guess that says something!"
Nikos Kastapolous meanwhile got 24th after having mechanical issues early in the race.
"For some reason the fuel pump had a bit of an issue on that car early on. That's the last time we're ever gonna recycle those things... But I'm not complaining, 24th place is still not that bad, and congrats to Gavin for beating my car."

- Spoiler:
- Rhylen, Akuzaru Impress in Saitama 200
After taking a huge hit at Motegi, Mac Rhylen came to the Saitama 200 sore, but ready to race. He came in surprisingly confident, although he didn't have the quickest car. At lap seven, when Rhylen had to pit, he was heard on his radio simply saying, "This sucks." However, when his crew-chief came over the radio and said, "Caution is out, get back out there," A sigh of relief came over him. And for good cause, too. Rhylen took the lead as everyone else pitted under caution, and stayed up there for the remainder of the race, finishing sixth.
His teammate for the final two Japanese races, Ryo Akuzaru, came into the race just hoping to finish. He qualified 24th, and slowly worked his way up to a solid 13th in his debut. His second and final race of the season will be at the Tokyo Motorsports Park, a track that he is very familiar with.
Team owner Ike Durbin was extremely happy for both drivers as they both ran well all day.

- Spoiler:
- Matthews finishes 20th in Round 1, still 11th in points
To say Tiffany Matthews had an anonymous run in the Saitama 200 is an understatement.
And for her, it was welcomed.
"I'm happy to have been off everyone's radar," she said after finishing 20th in Round 1. "Given the events of the last few weeks, I think it's for the best. I'm just glad to be out here racing."
She also had praise for the Saitama Ken Race Track.
"This is a great facility," she said. "I love racing here. I only hope we come back here next year. I want to improve on my finishing 20th!"
Matthews remained in an 11th-place tie in the points standings.

Cyrus injured, will race at Tokyo
Laura Cyrus suffered from a broken left wrist after her accident with Ramsey Coquinner in the first round of the Saitama 200.
However, according to her mother Lois, Cyrus has expressed a desire to compete in the Nemoto Tokyo 120Ks next week.
Lois told the media, "There isn't anything else [Laura] would rather be doing than driving, so I'm not going to stop her."
Laura Cyrus did not comment on her situation. Motor Assault Racing team owner Lisa Marley said that she is working on finding a standby driver in case Cyrus could not complete the race.
Dalitz celebrates maiden victory
Scott Dalitz, after his team came close to victory lane a number of times in its 3-year existence in ARLA, finally sealed the deal in the second round of the Saitama 200, holding off Edwin Schwarzloski after Yevgeny Kuznetsov ran into lapped traffic.
Said Dalitz, dismissing the difficulty of holding off the road racing veterans, "That was pretty fuckin' easy, but it better be if I'm up against a one-armed kid-lover and a drunk commie".
Dalitz, 26, made the transition to stock car racing in 2009, competing in ARLA on a limited basis after spending many years in the import and drifting community.

- Yamada Enjoys 8th Place Run
Makoto Yamada, a few days after his 22nd birthday, finished a respectable 8th place in front of his home fans and family. Yamada said, "Even though the car faded as the run went on, that was probably the most fun I've had in an ARLA race. This track was a blast, and may be my new favorite. It feels good to post a top ten finish in front of my friends and family. Motegi was a disaster to say the least. Everyone raced cleaner and smarter today. Good run."

Holden Roberts was reported as saying "Yeah I am looking around for next year, but I wanna stay here at the 55. I love this team and want to get success with them. We need to get back to last year. We just need a bigger team to bounce feed back off of. I think that's what we will be doing if everything goes right. Fingers crossed"

Aoi: There will be a lot of changes in 2013
After Aoi's impressive 4th place run in the 259, people were asking her about Jessica Graham's future in the 59 after the run her owner had today, Aoi was responding with a sneer on her face saying, "Look, the parts here are R&D for next year, so all I'm showing is that next year's parts are doing wonders on the road courses so far, as for Graham, well there are people getting fired in the 59 by season's end, so far she isn't one of them". The people she is most likely mentioning are the engineers on the car, after Graham's numerous occasions of her car breaking down on her in the latter half of races.
"Any other questions?"
Reporters stopped asking for questions after her statement, with her tone being one of a person who is about to snap....and a smile that almost seems to make her more of a lunatic than a team owner didn't help.
