- Spoiler:
- Delgado Seething After Another Lost Day for MRD Motorsports
Not even a bad back that needs surgery could keep Tom Delgado from watching his team continue to underachieve this afternoon at Buffalo Downs. Delgado was left furious as Joseph Howard, Kiriki Hetsuno, and Kyle Gaffigan were non-factors, while Jim Hayes was taken out of contention in an incident not of his doing.
"It's getting harder and harder not to go off at every last member of this team for continuously underachieving and plowing into every last incident willingly!" Delgado said of his team's failure this week. He got so enraged at the failures of his drivers today that he called a closed-door meeting in the MRD hauler after the race, where loud screaming could be heard as he tore into the performances of his teams. The only one to comment about said meeting was Kyle Gaffigan, and he was just as unhappy as his boss.
"I don't think Tom understands that sometimes there's just nothing we can do. Yes, we're professional drivers and we're supposed to not get into wrecks, but what are we supposed to do when there's chaos everywhere, hover?" Gaffigan said, sporting a fresh black eye. It's assumed that Delgado punched him in the face today in said closed door meeting, but Gaffigan denies it. "Yeah, that was another one of Tom's bright ideas. He took me to a bar a few nights ago, and apparently big bald people don't like it when I rub their head for luck" Gaffigan said of the incident.

- Spoiler:
- A change of pace, Splison finally finishes a race... Reffett is taken out yet again.
With another mediocre day of racing in the ARLA Elite Series, Terra International Motorsports has not had the best luck with it's part time drivers... with Reffett taken out at each race he's attempted, and Splison knocked out of 2 of 3 races. It's no surprise that the team may be rethinking it's strategy.
"Look, I'm sorry I ran over Kevin [Monroe], but the driver of the 7 car took me and another driver out... Karma aside, he did take himself out as well." Reffett told reporters after pulling his car into the hauler. "I'm glad my teammates finished, but I may not be cut out for this gig."
Splison however was ecstatic that she missed all the cars involved with the cautions and any lack of damage to her car. Woodard, however was involved with yet another of a driver's antics... he told reporters he is glad he's going to race TMMC while the Japanese Tour for ARLA takes place.
It is rumored that Reffett may attempt the ARLA TATS for the team next year to 'improve' his skills. Or he may be pushed into the ASCC in 2013 for him to drive with more skilled drivers. Team owner Gerald Lamb told reporters the two options considered were due to Woodard's backing of his step brother. He believe Reffett would do better if he didn't have to risk driving among several mental cases and skill-less hacks. Plans for Splison are to remain where she is... however, if enough FT spots open up. The team hopes to get two full time spots in 2013... pending if the world doesn't end in 2012.

"All I have to say is we had a great car but SpeedVision and the Herbie Finkleberg camp are the biggest jokes in the history of ARLA, thank you."

Is it just me or are most of BWard's characters making complete noobs out of themselves.

James Davison is the exception to that rule. Funny how that works out.

You see what I mean. My drivers go many times over their heads.

- Spoiler:
- Another good day for Matthews:
Tiffany Matthews' first visit to Buffalo Downs was a true rookie experience.
She had never raced on a surface other than asphalt, and expressed concerns about dirt racing after the Smash Beer 400.
Her concerns turned out to be unfounded, as she brought her car home in 13th place after starting 19th, good for yet another points-paying finish.
"I'd never raced on dirt before," she said, "so I had no idea how I'd fare. I'd have to say I think I did pretty well. I'd have liked to finish higher, but sometimes you have to take what you can."
Matthews moves up a slot to 17th in the overall standings. She is fifth amongst the rookie class in points.

- FAC sees checkered flag for first time in ARLA
In the Yellowstone 150 at Buffalo, FAC Motorsports did something they haven't done in their three previous attempts, finish a race. As Nick Azure started 4th and was able to avoid the wrecks to finish 11th, the first time he's made it to the finish in an ARLA race. "I'm just glad to finish the race. Started up front, avoided all the wrecks. It was a lot of fun racing on dirt again. Props to the team for giving me a competitive car this week."
Nick will be at the next two races at Alburquerque and Las Vegas. Afterwards, he will not attempt another race until Rockford.

OK, so Dudding and Young aren't penalized when they cause wrecks?

Maybe it's because the officials are probably used to seeing them wreck others, themselves or going off the track.

Dudding and Young are generally slow, but not too reckless. Barney Ward's been an issue every race, and I think the situation on the twitter thread worsened Ward's situation.

True. I'll have to look on the Twitter thread for that. I actually need to get back on there.

Is it just me, or have the ARLA officials been handing out more severe penalties recently?
