Re: Race 13: Round of Quincy
- Spoiler:
- Woodard suffers deja vu at Grand Detour, he is taken out by fellow Lycoia Driver Tom Moore
After getting into several incidents of not his own doing, Woodard suffered the ultimate irony as Tom Moore, who currently had the lead of the race, decided that Woodard wasn't a solid object and took both of them into the infield wall. Adding salt to the wound, Yamino Tenchi got pushed into the pit lane, colliding with the both of them. Woodard was able to get out of his car, yelling at Moore about the incident. Woodard visited the medical center and got the all clear. Later, he would apologize to Moore about yelling at him. Saying that the results of the incident had been punishment enough. Currently, Lycoia has the top two spots in the independent's trophy standings. Woodard currently has two more races while Leckliter and Moore just finished up their campaigns.
Woodard will head to Road America in Wisconsin for his third independent's trophy race. He's concerned about a certain yellow and white Omecha being a pinball there. Woodard practiced in the off season at this track, so hopefully he can pull a miracle out of his car.
He also explained to Dan Mullen about the reasoning behind the two chassis, he told Mullen that Lycoia was testing it's capabilities as a potential chassis in 2013. He remarked that Saar pulled something similar in the previous seasons and did relatively well. But now they are using one chassis and are doing horribly. He also believed that Griffith was getting the short end of the stick because he shafted the PSI management, sure Plissken is their primary driver, but Griffith outright refused to set up any communication about issues within the team. That led to mistrust and claims of sabotage and Griffith leaving. He hoped that Griffith would at least set up a dialog with whatever team he's due to go to next... which is most likely team Thunder. But Woodard wouldn't be able to confirm that rumor.
Lycoia Research and Development issued a press release stating that Moore's team and Leckliter's team were on their 'confirmed' list for 2013, especially after their performance this season.

- Spoiler:
- Delgado Talking Retirement Again on Twitter After Early Exit
Tom Delgado fell out early after a crash with the #42 of Vijay Pushanda, which led to radiator issues. Usually you'd see Delgado disgusted beyond belief, destroying things in the paddock. Not this time. He walked right past someone wanting an interview, gently tossed his helmet to one of the #37 crew members, and took a lonely walk to his motorcoach. He did not come out for the rest of the afternoon, and refused an interview as he left the track. His agent said that Delgado didn't want to speak to anyone because right now he knows he'll say something stupid and doesn't want to do so.
However, he did tweet later in the day that if he failed to qualify for Indianapolis, a track that he won the pole at last season, he would retire from the sport immediately, citing his inability to remain competitive enough to his standards."After a little soul searching (again), I've decided on yet another critical point in my career. If I do not qualify for the Round of Indianapolis, I will retire immediately. I'm not interested in continuing to embarrass myself out there, and that's pretty much what I've been doing all season. Enough is enough, and it's time to either meet my own expectations, or go do something else. I'm done embarrassing myself and my team out here. #allin"
A notable scene in the #37 pit as they were packing up after Delgado fell out of the race was a few of the crew members sitting with their backs to the track without their helmets, and looking very dejected. It's been a similar look for most of the season, and morale is very low in Tom Delgado's part of Star Team Nemoto.
Tom Delgado has fallen to 20th in the championship.

Re: Race 13: Round of Quincy
- Spoiler:
- Pushanda unhappy with his Quincy result
Vijay Pushanda has had an up and down year at Tutino... He has scored some great finishes, like 13th. But has had some awful runs as of late. He said, "The first crash was all me, I slid up, my fault. The second one, looked like a racing crash. So not much I can complain about. But it still drives me insane when you feel you can avoid a crash, and then a car just clips you to get involved. Oh well, I understand that I could be leaving the team after this race. If so, I would like to say that, even though the results arn't as strong as we would like, the Tutino crew always has optimism and are great guys who just love motorsport, no matter how well or bad we do." Pushanda then climed on top of his motorcoach, to watch the rest of the race with his crew.

Re: Race 13: Round of Quincy
- Spoiler:
- Matthews irate at Soveral: "We got screwed"
With nine laps to go in the Round of Quincy, Ryan Matthews could taste his first career podium finish.
Instead, he tasted bitter disappointment, as Luciano Soveral punted him into the pit lane, ending those dreams as well as his race.
"I am so mad I could spit nails," he said in an emotional post-race interview. "Nine laps from a podium and that happens. I knew Soveral was faster on that last run, but come on. You want to get by me? Race me clean. Don't punt me like that. I've been around too long to know you don't do something like that late in the race."
"We got screwed by a lack of patience, pure and simple," he added. "Soveral's gonna say he's happy with the win, but he shouldn't be. We worked our asses off to get up to third place and to have that happen...well, it sucks, that's for sure. No other way to put it."
Matthews was told of Soveral's post-race apology, to which he responded, "Nice PR move. Doesn't change anything as far as I'm concerned. You don't make any friends when you race like that."
Matthews did take home the final points position, but it's little solace for a driver and team that deserved far, far better.

- Spoiler:
- Tom Moore Bitterly Disappointed in Himself After Wreck from Lead
Tom Moore looked great again today on another one of the short ovals, which could be attributed to his rich short track history and fast Lycoia equipment. However, everything turned into disaster while Moore was in the lead. Moore got too much of a run out of turn two and took out his technology teammate, Greg Woodard along with himself, taking himself out of a win and making the Independent's Trophy anything but a lock. Woodard was furious with Moore right after the incident, and Moore who didn't think Woodard gave him enough room at the time fired back. Moore also went to the infield care center with a sore right shoulder.
After cooling down and watching a replay Moore talked to us. "This incident was completely my fault. Greg gave me plenty of room. I just ****ed up. The car started to develop a push throughout the run. I fazed out for about one second in turn two, and paid the price. I apologize for all I said after the incident to Greg. Once again, that was all my fault. I really hope this doesn't mess up any sort of team relations we have in the future. I'm just furious at myself right now. We had the Independent's Trophy locked if we hung on for a top 5, now it's possibly not going to happen."
Moore currently holds the lead by 3 points over Lycoia teammate Dan Leckliter. The current top five have completed all of their runs for the Trophy.

- Spoiler:
- Leckliter celebrates second top 5 this season
After the other 2 Lycoia drivers Tom Moore and Greg Woodard knocked each other out of the race, all hope for Lycoia was on Leckliter, who, despite rear end damage, finished 5th, one lap down.
"These Lycoias are fast and they are very fun to drive too. I feel bad for Greg (Woodard) and Tom (Moore), they both had the best cars out there and they take each other out because of a mistake, but they don't call Grand Detour the "Death Bowl" for nothing."

PSI Team Orders: "Preposterous"
Power Steering Incorporated owner William Power dismissed TMMC announcer Dan Mullen's assertions as "Total and complete fabrications. Preposterous! There is no such thing as "team orders" here. There never has been and there never will be!" exclaimed an obviously irate Power. "Back in the day, a true journalist had to substantiate their claims with facts and there just aren't any here. It's irresponsible of him to make such a claim. But it's what I come to expect. We've been the subject of a witch hunt ever since we dared to question Kurt Plissken's suspension. Team order's are tactics that the bigger teams like Saar USA uses. For whatever reason, everyone fears Roderick joining up with us and they're trying their best to make sure that doesn't happen. I sure hope Leonid see through all of this for what it is."
Plissken Answers Critics
Shortly after climbing out of his #16 Loan Ranger car after the conclusion of the Grand Detour of Quincy, Kurt Plissken was bombarded with questions about Dan Mullen and his comments.
"Did he say something? Ask me if I care. You guys know I don't pay any mind to that media crap," Plissken stated. But the media persisted in telling Plissken that Mullen had said that PSI had given team orders to give him the best equipment and pit crew members. Plissken was also informed of Mullen's comments concerning Marcos Leonard and that he suffered from "sour grapes" because Leonard "beat him almost every single race."
The usually stoic Plissken obviously bristled upon hearing this and commented, "Dan has his opinion. Well, he has the TM Master Cup official's opinion actually. Mullen is their corporate mouthpiece and knows where his checks come from. He hasn't had an original thought of his own in so long because he's too busy towing the corporate line and being a good Master Cup lackey. He reads from the scripts he's given and like a good puppet enjoys having his strings pulled because it's too much trouble to think for himself."
"He got everything wrong and twisted it around, as usual. I was the one experiencing all of the mechanical problems. That was, until I kept a 24/7 watch on my car. The one guy that I had to run off from my equipment was Griffith. When he couldn't get near my car, then he suddenly starts having issues. Hmmm. Use your brain Dan, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what was going on. I find it a little fishy that his pit crew suddenly can't do anything right either. Check their bank accounts and see if they've been paid to tank it for him or by him."
Plissken usually doesn't talk much, but his rant continued, "Sour Grapes? Complaining again?" Where the hell did that come from? When did I complain the first time. I'm like the least quoted person on the planet. No one wanted Marcos to succeed more than me. Did I want to beat him. Duh! I wouldn't be much of a competitor if I was content to finish not just behind him, but behind anyone. I want to win and to do that Dan, in case you've forgotten, you have to beat everyone on the grid to accomplish it. I would have liked there to be a little more sharing of information because he was obviously doing something right. Who wouldn't want to get better? If you don't, you don't belong here."
Plissken got as high as second and had a possible podium at best or a top 5 at least until the lapped #7 car of Jose Luis Martinez hooked Plissken on lap 184 and sent Plissken spinning into the pit wall bringing out the 13th caution of the day. Plissken's fuel pump was damaged and he limped to a 19th place finish.

There is a report from the Grand Detour infield that Kraig Mummert told James Dalton he wants an early release, and that he angrily punched his crew chief, Mortimer Snerd, over the pit road incident that got him pulled off the track.
