Plissken Prepared for Booing at Carbondale

As the Round of Carbondale approaches, Kurt Plissken is bracing himself for those in attendance to spew vitriol upon him. The reason: The sponsorship on his #16 Lycoia Intimidator.

"Yeah, I'm completely expecting the hostile crowd to rain down the boos," Plissken laughed.

Plissken's car will be adorned with a Murray State University paint scheme. MSU is about 2 hours away form Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale so the prospect of having a rival school sponsoring Plissken's car at this particular venue could be seen as an invasion of sorts.

"Hey I needed a sponsor and Murray St. was willing so I hope to perform well for them in "enemy territory" so to speak. Beggars can't be choosers," Plissken explained. "I'm still looking for sponsors be they local, regional, or national."

The MSU mascot is the "Racers" and PSI thought it would be a perfect fit. When the football team scores a touchdown, "Racer One", a real thoroughbred race horse replete with jockey, zooms around the track surrounding the field.

"You've got to hand it to Murray St. though," Plissken stated. "It's actually a brilliant strategic stroke on their part. It will help them attract new students in the surrounding area so they deserve some props for trying this innovative marketing ploy."

Plissken continued, "If SIU wants to sponsor me next year here or anywhere else, I'm open to the possibility."

"I just hope the fans can rein it in a bit!" (See what he did there?!) Plissken making jokes? He must be fully recovered from his bout with the Plutoxin Seven virus... or is he??!!
