- Spoiler:
- Focused Matthews finishes 11th, vaults into points Top 10
Prior to the Japanese tour, Tiffany Matthews was released from her TM Lights ride, citing her need to "focus on her ARLA season."
She got the message.
Matthews brought her damaged Lenard home in 11th place, and ends the Japanese tour sixth in the current points standings.
"Doing double-duty like I was was starting to wear on me, to be honest," she said. "In a way, as much as I'd have liked to have kept doing it I really needed to concentrate on one series. Especially since I'm where I am in the points standings. Hopefully this is a good sign for when we get back home. I'm looking forward to it."

- Spoiler:
- Dempsey's Run ends up in smoke as his car blows up in Round 1
"This is *beeping* outrageous!" Dempsey was extremely irritated after half the field crashed coming to the green flag, causing massive damage to his car. "The *beeping* officials cannot *beeping* think of what damage that damn corner would do?" Apparently he was too angry to deal with reporters, he went off to drink some Sake... which made him a bigger loose cannon. Reports that Dempsey was tranquilized so he could calm down. Dempsey's temporary run in ARLA ended horribly after he got caught up in the first wreck (with no where to go), along with others. The engine on the 41 Tonare Thunderbolt gave out early in the running.

What about F.A.I.L. and/or the IGGP!

Lautenschlager benched at Karl's
Brian Rodenburger and Sam Ashford, team bosses at Karl's Racing and Grease Burger Racing, respectively, were livid with Tyson Lautenschlager after Lautenschlager and Paul Lyons got together on the first lap of the second round at the Nemoto Tokyo 120Ks. As a result, Lautenschlager has been benched by Karl's starting with the Mr. Cobb's 200.
Lyons was making his first start with Grease Burger, a team that has a strong alliance with Karl's due to the presence of Grease Burger stands at numerous Karl's stores.
Rodenburger was not reluctant to treat the incident as one between teammates, telling the media, "I will not tolerate our drivers blatantly wrecking each other."
It is not known if Lautenschlager will be entered at the race after the Mr. Cobb's 200, especially with the season coming to a close soon, as well as the rumors of Karl's and Kurt Walker Motorsports merging in 2013.
Borland to drive #π in remaining 5 races
Phillip Borland will drive the #π car for the rest of the year, a source from Math Motors confirmed in the aftermath of the Nemoto Tokyo 120Ks.
The decision to keep Borland in the car was reportedly due to Vijay Pushanda's shaky TM Master Cup career, and it is not known when he might get called up for another race in that series. It is also believed that the funding that Pushanda has brought to the team is drying up, but Math Motors refused to comment on the matter.
Stareye Light sponsorship transferring to MT Motorsports
Stareye Brewing will cease sponsorship of Jaguar Racing and move to MT Motorsports, effective immediately.
Sources say that Holden Roberts, Jaguar Racing's current driver, showed some promise in years past, but has failed to live up to Stareye's expectations this year. On the other hand, Lane Cranston and MT Motorsports has been improving ever since his disastrous start to the 2012 season. This has made MT Motorsports very attractive to the company.
MT Motorsports has been running with no sponsorship for the majority of the season, relying on contingency awards and money from the organization's other ventures.

Lane Cranston: "I don't know how much the contact after the first turn affected our engine, but I can't believe people were trying to win the race in the first turn. Actually, with people like Dudding and Young allowed to drive, I can. I can only picture how it would've gone with Barney Ward still in the field."

Lautenschlager Looking for an out in contract?
After being benched by Karls, Inc for the Mr. Cobb's 200, Tyson Lautenschlager is looking for an out in his contract to start looking for a new ride. Lautenschlager dumped the slow and damaged Grease Burger Racing car of Paul Lyons on lap 1 claiming "if he isn't going to move out of my way, I'll move him."
"I have enjoyed my stint with Karl's since the end of the 2009 season but it just is not working out anymore. I get benched for wrecking someone who isn't even a teammate. To add to that, he was slow and not moving out of my way. I come here to race, if you aren't going to move, then allow me to do that for you. It's disappointing I've been benched but enough is enough, so I am looking for an out in my contract. I am looking for a new ride with a solid team if they let me out of my contract."

Yamada Disappointed But Happy for 9th
Makoto's goal at the beginning of the three races in Japan was to win or earn his second career top 5, but neither worked out. Yamada finished a solid 8th and 9th the final two races in the tour. Makoto said, "Of course I wanted more out of today, but I can't complain about a top ten. The fact that we were involved in the first incident and came back for ninth is a testament to the efforts of this team. Hopefully we can climb into the top 30 in points soon."
