The International Open Wheel Association *Round 2 of Road Atlanta Posted*
*-Approved by Cynon
(Note I didn't Purposly call it Iowa)
Open wheel returns to EFR!!!
Ok this is a non canon open wheel league using the V8 Indycar mod, It is based off of some what of a mix between modern day Izod Indycar series and Cart from the mid nineties. Major characteristics of it are the Indy 500, which takes place evey memorial day weekend and througout the month of May. The series circut's rage from large ovals to road courses. Historically, racers in this series are put to the test, with close quaters racing and stratagy. But do to the high speeds of the cars, injuries are unavoidable and happen more frequently then other major series. This has promted many fans of motorsports to call it the most dangerous form of racing in the world. So are your drivers up for the test.
[end cheesy race announcer voice]
I am also open to track suggestions (Keep them realistic, no Talledega, Daytona, or Zombie Spaceport the largest track I'll go is Indy)
Any questions please ask.

Remove Blue ridge and Put Edmonton in it's place.
Also there is a Track Called Palm Beach Alpha that's pretty good. Also if you want realism put Finishing for all drivers as 0-0

Also there is a Track Called Palm Beach Alpha that's pretty good. Also if you want realism put Finishing for all drivers as 0-0
The test race at Blue Ridge was fantastic, but I still haven't downloaded Edmonton

Suzuka Cut From Schedule
Do to the high prices of holding an IOWA race and do to track capacity the Suzuka circut has been cut from the 2012 IOWA Schedule, track premoters were unavailble for comment, but IOWA, director of competition Bill Carpenter, states, "The track as unique because of the small nature of it, we were only going to run the east section of the Suzuka circut, which meant we would be racing on a small, narrow road course, we are deeply dissipointed that funding did not pull through. But we are detirmend to have 21 circuts on the 2012 IOWA schedule, so the hunt is on."

Reigning Champion Gallagher signs with Arrow Dynamics
The modern day IOWA series has had one man dominiate the title in the last 4 year. Brian Gallagher, will leave QRP. Inc. to pilot the 24 Cooper Tires AD03. "Arrow Dynamics has been a team that has struggled the last ten year they have been apart in, in IOWA. I think that I will be able to give them a much deserved win that has been long overdue and be a threat for the 2012 IOWA championship." Gallagher stated. It is widley rumored that Brian left QRP because he was being treated like a dish towel compared to Spanird Antonio Vailler. Who with out a suprise got the #1 driver seat there. He will be parterned by 2 time and reigning IOWA Lights champion, Zantuma Kukkyaumba.

Oval Track Testing Notes
Ohio Motor Speedway- Cars are running about 140 MPH around the track in the corners they do shave off a bit, the only issue is that the pack doesn't spred out.
Walt Disney World- Runs like a champ, Has grip, but still is very difficult to drive and one wrong move will end your dreams of getting in the front gates of Disney World
Indianapolis- It was a pain in the butt to get the cars from not slamming into the wall on the exits of 1 and 3 but I somehow did it, It actually runs like the Indy 500 but one step out of the groove and you'll be kissing concrete
Homestead- Raised the speed from 199 MPH up to around 220 MPH, but still needs some work as cars are stepping out on exit
Texas- Speeds are averaging around 225 now, but wrecks now come about once every 25 laps rather than once every 50
Fontana- DRAMATIC Speed increase to around 240MPH, but side by side racing is very difficult and passes need to be precise as the cars end up in the wall if the outside car is not as low as possible.
Blue Ridge-- Runs like a champ, It is the fastest track of the bunch at around 245-250 MPH but it has plenty of grip for side by side racing, and suprisingly few crashes. My favorite track so far.
Portland- Is messed up, 1% chance it will be on the schedule. West bullring might snag its date.
Edmonton- Most likely will be on the schedule.

Portland Removed from Schedule, creates all down war for the openings
The fan favorite, Portland International Raceway, has been removed from the schedule for questionable reasons, Bill Carpenter said it was for saftey reasons, but sources inside the track say that IOWA is more intrested in another market. It has been no secret that fans in the northwest are IOWA, least marketable area. Attendence dwindled down to 45% of capacity last year and the race wasn't being shown in the Portland area do to a coverage black out. The race last year was said to have been the best race of the year by fans watching the coverage. IOWA officials are reportedly finalizing details with officials in the Canadian city of Edmonton, and are roumored to be talking with officials in Sacermento, for a possibe street race on the cities highway system. Bill Carpenter has also been reported to have been talking with officials from the Carbondale raceway in Illinois and track owners from The West Midland Bullring in Michigan. Other sources state that Barber Motorsports park has also been tossed around, as well as Miller Motorsports Park.

Edmonton Gets Portlands spot
The city of Edmonton and IOWA Series president and CEO Bill Carpenter are glad to announce a partnership for 2 seasons bringing the series on there airport. "The circut is very remmencisint of Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport. Its a bit slower and not as bumpy, but twistier than Burke." Bill Carpenter stated. Burke Lakefront official, are not happy with another airport race however. "They stole our idea." Paul Tomlinson stated, head of the race at Burke, "To be honest we hope the race at Edmonton fails."
Bill Carpenter says the Last opening will be a Road Course
With Edmonton reserving Round 19, Round 20 is the only spot left, Cities are calling up Bill Carpenter left and right to get a street race, ad perment road courses are updating saftey requirements to meet IOWA's requirements. "We need one more road course, we have more ovals than road courses. We are tossing a few circuts around, but I wouldn't be suprised to announce a street circut either." Bill Carpenter stated.

Allright I am starting to get the first set of cars, you need them in to me. If you took one of the pre-designed cars, please send me the ratings, If I don't get your ratings, your drivers will be assesed 0-10 for everything.
I might do screencaps for the race reviews if I can't figure out how to do that, I will post reviews like Cy does with the Lights, but I will be activley trying to figure out how to do screencaps.
I have also filled in the team chart.

IOWA Round 1 may have less than 31 cars
Recent developments have been that a large amount of teams will not launch until after Homestead. As of now, we know QRP, ETS, RTR, Arrow Dynamics, Super Team Japan, and a few more are ready to go for Homestead. Teams that are testing right now are still unknown. There are a few entries that are belived to be either dropped or pull out of the series after the conclusion of Homestead. Sources inside the league say that if these teams are not commited to coming at Road America, than they are on suspension till the Indy 500.
(Get your cars in, by tomarrow evening if you want to be included in Homestead.)
If you are having problems with getting your requests in, you can ask the mods if you can use one of the ones on the download sheet. But you need to ask them, Its not my responsibility, or at least I don't think.

Apperently I was dumb, and put the car due date at 1/8/12 instead of 1/6/12 so you get till 1/8/12 at midnight because I am running Round 1 on Sunday.

Just saying, there was a really short notice to get cars in, and you have about 12 cars right now, so it wouldn't make sense to start the league right now. I gave people 2 months to get cars in, while you've given a week for a league which runs a mod which is about 10 times harder to paint on than any other. I understand you're eager to start the league, but you have to consider that people really need time to get this all sorted. I'm personally going to pull out of the league, since I've been pretty busy with preparing for exams that I haven't had the time to paint a car that at least looks decent.
