- TDR Returns to the Winner's Circle as Hayes Dominates Rookie Shootout
Drawing the pole has its benefits. One of them is the ability to run away from the field at the start. That's exactly what Jim Hayes did as he led a majority of the laps en route to winning the Apex Racing School Rookie Shootout.
"I knew this #77 Xoron Nemoto had a lot of pace the moment we brought it onto the track. Our engineers and garage crew worked tirelessly to get us ready for 2013, and it's all paid off tonight. Extremely proud of everyone associated with Tom Delgado Racing tonight!" Team owner Tom Delgado exclaimed as he made a slow walk to victory lane to celebrate with the team.
If this is a sign of things to come in 2013, then you can bet that Tom Delgado Racing will be celebrating numerous wins, and quite possibly, a championship.

- Spoiler:
- Jon Halks: "Some of these guys really put the 'Rookie' in 'Rookie Shootout'. Madness. Going four-wide in Turn 3 on the first lap. That's really stupid. Thankfully, we'll be mixed in with some veterans for the first points race, and hopefully, we can complete a lap in that."

Leckliter duo nabs top 10 in Rookie Shootout
Daniel Leckliter comes from the back to get a 7th place finish.
"We scrubbed the field and then hung it out to dry, just like Scrubbles Aeropowered Detergent it's only $19.99, it's not available in stores, if you call 1-800-555-2390 within the next 30 minutes, you'll get two for the price of one. CALL NOW!"
Robert Leckliter got out of the car acting like he won the race.
"I'm back dummy! I'm a freakin' blur, here!"
Back in 2010, Robert Leckliter missed his shot at racing at USA Speedway in the CRL Modified Division, which was devastating for the team, as they live 10 miles from the track when they aren't in New York, where the duo originated.
Kinasa gives the Groves Racing team a top 5
The first race back since Scott Morales' death, Andrea Kinasa had what people would call a fairytale run. She led a few laps and finished 5th. When interviewed, she was in tears.
"It's just amazing that we had a run as great as this. Most of Scott's crew from last year is with us, and they did all they could do to get us in a position to win."

Re: 2013 Apex Racing School Rookie Shootout
(OOC: Interview format again. Might do this for the balance of the season.)
- Spoiler:
So how was your first race back?
"It was good to be back in a race car again. I'd had a month since Eurospeedway and I was really looking forward to getting back to work. Sixth place isn't too bad, but I was really hoping for more."
Talk about the car.
"The car was OK. This wasn't really a good barometer as how the new Lenard is going to be because of the whipping Hayes put on us. But I think we'll be fine."
What are your opinions on the rookie class?
"Well, I'm familiar with some of the guys here, as I've raced with Dan Leckliter, Joe Olenick and Trey Ashby. But some of these guys, well, I don't think they belong out here at all, to be honest."
Care to name names?
"Not a chance. We all know who they are."

- Spoiler:
Brinson Enterprises, Ashby strong in BR01 debut
After a long offseason, Brinson Enterprises returned to the track showing strong form with a third place finish
The race served as the debut for the new BR01 chassis designed and built in-house by the team. After a series of successful tests at the North Wilkesboro speedway, the car proved to be fast off the hauler
"The new car was an absolute rocket" says team owner/crew chief Matt Brinson. "We were fast all weekend long and Trey (Ashby) put in a great qualifying effort to start us up at the front"
Despite starting third, the #12 slid to 11th after the third caution. Ashby complained that the Rundagrip BR01 was tight in, so Brinson used the yellow to make an air pressure and track bar adjustment. The changes brought the car to life and Ashby stormed to the front.
"Trey came in saying the car was pushing on entry so we made a few adjustments on that 3rd yellow. After that, he cut through the field and we were by far one of the best handling cars."
Despite a third place finish, Brinson hinted at displeasure with the Andrea 4cyl powerplant
"Obviously, we learned a lot about the car tonight" he says. "First, the chassis is solid and responsive. It looked sharp out there and Trey said that it was a hot rod in the corners after the chassis adjustment. One thing that I'm concerned about though is the obvious lack of power on our end. We were sluggish on the restarts and were getting pulled on badly through the straights. It's a sacrifice we made to gain a bit of speed on the shorter tracks as the 4cyl is a bit lighter up front than the V6. We'll see, but I think on faster tracks we may be at a disadvantage as was shown here."

- Webster Struggles in Rookie Shootout
A very frustrated Zack Webster climbed from his car after struggling to a 16th place finish at the USA Speedway for the APEX Driving School Rookie Shootout. Despite a 12th place starting spot, Webster spent most of his time in the rear of the field, the only highlight being him narrowly avoiding the huge wreck on the backstraight on lap 25. Webster would end up two laps down in 16th. "We just missed the setup, man. This entire team is really looking forward to having a season where we get our names called in the broadcast for great reasons, and we just didn't have that tonight. We'll go back to the shop, see what we can make better, and hopefully have a more competitive piece for our next start." Webster said after the race.

Posadas frustrated after being caught upon wreck caused by Brayton
HotShot Racing driver Kelly Posadas was not a very happy girl after being caught in a wreck caused by Tom Brayton, "The last person in the world you wanna run into is the person who's slower and causes the wreck. Our car wasn't as quick as we anticipated so we drew last starting place, so it kinda put me in a difficult position for the race. But we sadly didn't get to end the race in one peace, being involved in a wreck caused by the 'slowcoach' (referring to Tom Brayton) and getting a wrecked car. Hopefully we will be back stronger and better in our first Official ARLA Race when we come back here."

Alexander enraged about disappointing Rookie shootout finish
Team Quest owner and driver Gregory Alexander had planned to perform extremely well in the Rookie Shootout, dedicating his performance to the Apex Racing School, which sponsored the race and Alexander is an alum of. An engine failure was not what he had in mind. After starting mid-pack, he quickly moved up a few spots before his engine suddenly quit on him on lap 9, forcing him to a dead stop on the back straightaway. After he got out of the car, he proceeded to kick it several times in anger, and then walked all the way to the garage. When reporters caught up to them, all he had to say was
"Get the f***ing microphones outta my face."
