The PCC Cup Series! *Original Thread*
The PCC Cup Series!
Credits to Ceej for making the series logo!
This series is totally non-canon, and gave birth to the careers of Troy and Anthony Griffith, Bob, Jeff, and John Stephans, Bill Tissom, Dan Richards, Jim Hayes, etc. All manufacturers are open, including real-life ones, so the series features (for an example) Chevy and Ford duking it out with Saar and Inglesby. It's a mashup between the real world, ARLA, and the TM Master Cup series.
I plan to run an 18 race schedule, and the races are listed below.

As far as painting cars goes, I will be able to paint all of the cars in the series if you want me to. If you have a specific car that you claim as your own, feel free to paint that one if you want to. The series uses .gns physics. If you can't save a car file like that, I'll just convert it.
The ratings system for this series is tiered from A-F, alphabetically from excellent to sucky. Here is the full breakdown:
A - Excellent - 85-95 for all (minus agression and qualifying) (No more A-Rated Drivers allowed!)
B - Good - 80-90 for all (minus agression and qualifying)
C - Decent - 75-85 for all (minus agression and qualifying)
D - Not Good - 70-80 for all (minus agression and qualifying)

F - Sucky - anything below E Rating (minus agression and qualifying)
Agression and Qualifying will be set at 0-100. All pit crew ratings are constant at 40-100. Reliablility max is an average of all the averages of the other car ratings, and minimum is zero.
As for choosing cars, if you see a spot open, holler out and I'll put your name in the slot unless noted otherwise. Car ratings will be put next to the team name for car quality. One car teams will be given to admins and mods if they want one, and on a first come, first serve basis to all other members if they so choose to want one.

It's currently a WIP, I don't have a presentable version of the car at the moment however. Expect it to look somewhat similar to a Ford.

I'll get to that when the schedule gets closer to the European Tour. Talladega Qualifier videos should be up by Wednesday and the race should be up by Monday.

Meet Cameron Taylor
Cameron Taylor has had an up and down season so far, his first in the PCC Cup Series. He got a ride with Winsalot Motorsports after impressing the team bosses in a test at Nelson Ledges, a track Cameron is very familiar with. Taylor's father was, and still is, very active on the sports car racing circuit. He ran in the American Le Mans Series in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and has two wins there. Cameron expressed an interest in racing at a young age, as he puts it "My dad raced, so I wanted to race.".

- CAM CARS GET MIXED RESULTS AT TALLADEGA
After staying on the lead pack for most of the night, Fazi D'Annenzo was able to keep the draft and finish in 7th, rocketing him back to third in the points after falling in Bristol.
"Overall our race was awesome. We needed an excellent run like this to regain our momentum after wrecking at Bristol, and this is the perfect way to do that. now i think we're down about 30 points so with that amount of time we can definately make a charge."
The same could not be said however for team captain Nikos Kastapolous. He too was in the draft, but the combination of lapped traffic and the green flag pit stops forced him to back out, causing him to finish 21st, his worst finish in which he didn't DNF.
"Well... it certainly wasn't the kind of night we were looking for in the TRE Podcast Dodge... but i think we had somee positive things happen to us we just couldn't finish it out.
"Honestly i think this is payback for the (ARLA) Thunder Trucks. I mean, in that series we're making strides and getting things done there and, Foz is over there in the Patterson garage doing pretty much the opposite. So.. it's alright, we're still fourteenth in the points so, while its going to be a challenge to get the point lead, we're still in a place where we want to be."

Taylor: Worst Weekend in Years
Cameron Taylor was already in the headlines for his number change. Taylor partnered with the history channel to run car #150 to gain awareness for the campaign to save civil war sights for the 150th anniversary of the start if the conflict. "It's good to raise money to save our history" said Taylor.
However soon after this announcement, Taylor received word that a close friend and her brother were in a car accident in Florida. Taylor missed second practice to visit them in a Sarasota hospital. James Beverly shook down the car. Taylor ran well in the race making the most of a fast and fuel efficient set up. However, after the finish, Taylor was approached by his father and crew chief and received the bad news about Bob Graham. Said Taylor "This is a tragedy. Please keep Graham's family in your thoughts. I'd also like to wish Neil Nuhr, Gary Robinson, and all others injured a speedy recovery."
Re: The PCC Cup Series! *Original Thread*
- Spoiler:
- Marshall's Comment on Race
The officials were very stupid for even running the race. The speeds shown in PRE-QUALIFYING was the indication that drivers were being put at safety risks and now, Graham has payed for it with his life. I know the officals are in charge but seriously, 1 fatally injured in a crash, 1 knocking on death's door, 2 injured for the rest of the season, 1 broken rib & collarbone and 2 battered & bruised. Talladega shouldn't be on any schedule for any series. Last year, the TMMC Series had a bad accident that also injured drivers. This is just to dangerous. Unfortunetly for us drivers, we have no control over what the officials do.
Louis Jones' Comments
I agree with Marshall on this one. I'm just glad we had a tyre issue and weren't in that lead pack. It's just tragic.
Alec Webber (a friend of former driver, Matthew Grey) is interested in taking over the 02 ride for the rest of the season. John Bracchi has agreed to let his sponsership deal with Xbox 360 go to Alec if he gets the ride

Fortner Team Asia withdraws from PCS
After the atrition that beplagued Kasuke Suma causing the 93's points to be purchased by Tom Delgado's MRD team, it appears that Daisuke Gakuto has fallen prey to the shutdown.
Poor management and poor business practices have led to FTA's downfall. The team will not run the rest of the 2011 season, and do not have plans to return. This places an unfortunate burden on Wes Jones of Patterson Autosports to carry the Fortner banner. He recently won the New York event when Suma was given the boot.
Fortner Motorsports colleagues in the U.S. told The Racing Channel after the race that it now appears that Esso and Mitsubishi Electronics have pulled their sponsorship contracts from Fortner Team Asia.
"The Fortner Team Asia crew have displayed poor results which leaves bad marks on our racing history. Their unreliable business practices have cost Fortner Motorsports money. We gave them what they needed, and they blew it for us. This is the most shameful thing we had ever seen." says FMS management.
"Therefore, as a result of Fortner Team Asia's business malpractice, Fortner Team Asia must shut down as lawsuit will be filed against them. We regret to do this but we must go and get this settled. Unfortunately, while we sort this out, Dice-K's done for the season, and that's a shame. Really, this was none of Kasuke Suma's and Dice-K's doing. The fault is strictly on the piss-poor management of FTA. We are so angry at Fortner Team Asia that their management has put our name to shame and that we're nobodies now because of this. We're Just-Ran's. That's such a bitter shame because Wes did such a great job with the Patterson team winning the New York race. I want Patterson to stay with Fortner. We need them, badly!"

Grand Detour Qualifier
Pay-driver Dale Kensington Jr. was a glorified start-and-park, as he "broke down" out of 19th position on lap 12. His pay-driver teammate James Beverly was involved in on of the oddest pit road incidents I've ever seen, when his car was pinched between Chester Benson and the wall, and when the crew went to the left side of the car and lifted it up, his car flipped over and suffered terminal damage.
There were 11 cautions in this 100 lap race, and that meant much attrition. This also meant a lot of yellow flag pit strategy. Caleb Williams and Robert Markley (his teammate, who was missing a hood) stayed out early, and Markley held up the rest of the field while Williams pulled out to a big lead. Unfortunately for Williams, he had some mechanical problems with only a few laps to go that cost him a spot on the grid.
Matt Brinson was involved in about 5 or 6 of the 11 cautions, but kept the car running and finished in 17th, unfortunately not good enough to make the race.
Rene Recarmier barrel-rolled the car trying to negotiate around the MSR failmobiles of Lonnie Johns and Jeff Fox after a botched pit stop.
Andrew Tammerzan and Ryan Griffin will be making their PCC Cup debuts this week. After a stunning top-5 at Talladega, Kenny Gartosa misses the show in the #45. He will return next in the #40 car that was driven by Matt Brinson.
Please post comments/criticisms/etc.

Gallagher critical about race
"If the qualifier was any indication of how the race is going to be." Well, We need to be driving tanks then. 11 Cautions in 100 laps is absoultley insane. Maybe it's just that the people in the qualifing race has less talent then we do."

Taylor Previews Grand Detour
Cameron Taylor, driver of the #77 La Poste Inglesby for Kyle Winsloff's team, had this to say about the upcoming race and the Southern Illinois Grand Detour: "This is going to be a difficult race. A lot of time drivers are too aggressive too early here, and it ends up costing them. To win here, you've got to keep your head."
OCC: Shouldn't Cameron Taylor be ahead of DeVilla and Korodovos in points because he has a win?

Zombie Apocalypse begins, PCC Cup in jeopardy?
Reports are streaming in from around the world that avian influenza, the culprit of the mass Spanish Influenza outbreak of 1918, has mutated very rapidly. The virus works its way into the frontal lobe of the infected's brain, where it proceeds to shut down the subject's vital organs. After shutting down the heart, rendering the infected "dead", the corrupted frontal lobe stays intact allowing the virus to take control of the body. The virus is transmitted through bodily fluids, such as saliva or blood, and the virus accomplishes this transmission by causing the body to have an insatiable desire for human flesh. Infected currently number in the tens of thousands, with thousands more being added every day.
As of Saturday, Quincy, Illinois is currently a safe zone from the plague. The race should continue on normally, but if any unexpected breaches happen, the race will be called immediately. The future of the PCC Cup Series is currently unknown at this point, but it is expected that the series will be suspended indefinitely until this crisis blows over.

I've never heard a race being called for a disease outbreak before. I heard that they're working on a vaccine, so hopefully this will be over quickly. A friend of mine was infected but the whole mind control thing didn't happen. Scam perhaps?

Zombie Apocalypse Over! PCC Cup Series spared from destruction!
Breaking news today as the final vestiges of the zombie horde are being herded onto a rocket headed for the Sun, officials say. After attempts to create a vaccine backfired, the United States deployed tactical nuclear warheads into infected areas across the nation, eliminating the majority of the zombie menace. Despite the nuclear wasteland that now covers the newly-coined Post-Apocalyptic States of America, PCC Cup officials are adamant that racing will resume later this month.

- Spoiler:
- Camphausen livid after Grand Detour.
"You know, I love these car, I love the PCC Cup Series, but when we have guys driving with their heads up their behinds it gets annoying. I mean I have no problem with aggressive driving, bumping and banging I have zero problem with, but flat out dumping anybody you can at every possible moment, that is flat out annoying. I hope penalties are coming."
