The Canon Hall of Fame.
We may not know all the history behind the Canon Leagues but we do know quite a bit, So every year we are going to induct 10 members of different leagues here. Heres how it works. You guys submit people who you think are the best drivers, promoters, team owners in the history of, TMMC ARLA, CRL, RROL, VSCC, ASCC. Also drivers don't need to be retired. So submit who you think should be in the EFR hall of Fame and why they should be inducted. Then we will vote on 10 to go in as season 1 hall of fame inductees. Note Admins/ Mods/ League Owners, you guys have control over history and if you want add more in this topic to prove why.
Here's mine
Gereard Madigan- Designed some of the greatest racetracks in the world, Karjala and Decatur are two examples. Plus he was one of the original owners of the TMMC.

TMMC:
Roderick, should definitely be nominated. (4 titles, and one great driver)
Rainsford (first woman champion, multiple championships)

Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
Henry Walker- The promoter of ARLA
Benny Dwyer- 6 Time TMMC Champ
Sir Arthur Thomas- See Above
The way that the induction ceremony will work is almost the same as the awards shows at the ends of the season. I'll close the suggestions when we get 30. I will post an updated list every night, hopefully...

I say Lance Andrews, he fought tooth and nail for nearly 20 years to win one race, if that isn't determination, I don't know what is.

If there were a category for the best worst driver, I could say Derek Dudding, R.J. Bandsma and Matt Smith.

Jeb Klinger: Race for a few years, gets injured for 30, and then comes back in his 70s and runs for wins.
Brenda Riggs: Has won almost anything she races, and is still winning in ARLA.

Derek Dudding doesn't deserve the hall of fame. with all due respect, when we think of Hall of Fame, we think of people who actually did something worthwhile, not piss off the whole field.

Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
Drivers should be retired before they can be in a hall of fame just because since they are still running they can still accomplish things.
Alan Musico was not the first CRL champ because the CRL began in 1988.
Dudding shouldn't be there.
Rachel Rainsford shouldn't be there.
Anyone still active should not be there.

Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
I removed Dudding just before you posted that. I have to go back to the old forum to find out who the first CRL Champion was, and I can't take away anything from Racheal Rainsford. She broke the sexist line that said women cant race, even though she didn't do very well. Danica was treated the same way in her first year.

Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
Allright, I took off Alan Musico and I still think Reluctently Rachel Rainsford. I also am lowering the limit back down to 30 or until later tonight. I think we have enough talent on this, I leave it up so that if theres anyone important that we have missed. Then what will happen is everyone posts there top 10 votes, and to keep it more like the NASCAR HOF, the admins and mods votes get doubled. And Rember if you think some of the nominee's are dumb, don't vote for them. Note im not trying to bash anyone here.

I think you should include Montana Mosehez.I mean,he has never raced since god knows when, and in his 60's(I do believe),in his first ever season in CRL modifieds,he's running up towards the top.

I'm not touching Mosehez yet, I mean, I was reluctent to put Lance Anderews down, but then I considered his broadcaster. And lets just say I was reluctent to put Steve Marshall down either, but Kez has a point, Rachel Rainsford was a no. We have Alexis up there
Micheal Sykes- The First TMMC Independents Champion.

Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
Here are your first class of hall of famers, a few suprised me. These are in order from 1-10, also 10 and Alexis Rainsford came down to a tie breaker.
1. Henry Walker
2. Benny Dwyer
3. King Arthur Thomas
4. Steve Marshall
5. Andy Pearson
6. James Tyson
7. Gererd Madigan
8. Jeb Klinger
9. Lance Andrews
10. Woody Watts

I never said that I was going to induct those drivers. I said "If there were a category for the best worst driver". IF. I'm smarter than to think that Derek Dudding of all people should be inducted to the Canon Hall of Fame.

I do agree with you there, Thats why I voted for 5 of them on that list. And I was really reluctent to put a few of them on the list. I will be very blunt here, Woody Watts shouldn't be, Lance Andrews shouldn't be, Steve Marshall as well Too Early for Andy Pearson. I really thought Bjorn Green would easily get in first try. As with Robert Clarke. Rainsford maybe next year.

Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
interesting to see woody watts and jeb klinger, but i think thats a solid list, it shows the champs, the determined, and the people that made the tm canon the way it is. good choices!
Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
So, why not just do Tyson, Madigan, Walker, Thomas, and Dwyer as First Class?
Re: The Canon Hall of Fame.
I think what you're forgetting is, you're putting an RROL champ (which is real-life equivalent to USAC) in before putting in the first female TM Master Cup champ (real-life equivalent to NASCAR.) That's what really angers me about this hall of fame, "class."
