NASCAR All Star Race and Showdown
Welp, the glorified off week in NASCAR is back and it is kind of sad, only 18 cars will start the actual race, and not many things can help this. From Reddit, Matt Dibendetto looks to be the fan vote winner if 2014 has anything to say about it. The only interesting thing I found on the entry list is that Kyle Busch is being billed from Hendrick, I don't know if it's a mistake on Jayski's part, but it's there. *sigh*
Here's the entry list, I guess.

20 cars will start. 15 on the entry list plays the winners of the 3 showdown segments plus top 2 in the fan vote.

Oh, I thought the showdown would stay the same.

It's top 3, because there's a minimum 20 car field. If there was only 11 cars in the All-Star then it would be something like top 6 in race and top 3 in voting.NASCARLOVER427 wrote:AntmanB wrote:20 cars will start. 15 on the entry list plays the winners of the 3 showdown segments plus top 2 in the fan vote.

I'm a little disappointed by the ending but.....ehhh it could be worse. Though I am now convinced that Kyle Larson is the "Murphy's Law" of the Cup Series. Whenever he runs well, more often than not he either falls short of victory or everything falls apart for him in the end.

The showdown was lit, the All-Star was predictably awful.

Strangest part of the All-Star Race was when Fox's ticker changed to ARCA drivers for a second during the final segment.
This race was just weird. It wasn't a good race, but it wasn't a terrible race. Just baffling how there were so many issues with the rules that no one at the track knew what was going on.

Which is why they need to stop changing the Goddamn rules every single year. Pick a set of rules and stick to it.

How about we just dump the All-Star race and give everyone a week off. This race has been stupid since it was initiated, IMO!

I'm not surprised that this format was tricky to follow up on. Gotta say that it was a 5/10-type race. Congrats Joey....I guess.

I think Tony Stewart said it best in his interview...

Showdown was some of the best racing i've seen at Charlotte in a while.
All-star was some of the worst officiating i've seen out of Nascar in a while.

I honestly don't care. Set up a dart board with all the different sets of rules and have a monkey throw a dart at it. If they'd stop changing the damn rules every year, we wouldn't have this kind of confusion.
