NASCAR has been producing some great racing this year. There was some meh races, but none were complete bad, so I have kinda good hopes for Charlotte
Re: 2014 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race
Shouldn't Joey Lagono's 2014 wins at Texas and Richmond be indcluded in the list as well?
Also, that's intresting that the Showdown is being run BEFORE the main event qualifying......

I'm alternating between Allmendinger and Wise, and knowing the internet, Wise is going to be a contender for the fan vote.

Re: 2014 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race
The All-Star Race has become a glorified test session with special paint schemes. It's like anyone hardly tries anymore. They need to get rid of the segments and make it a 100-lap race straight up, or, bring back elimination. Screw whether or not a big name fails to advance.Lucstar88 wrote:NASCAR has been producing some great racing this year. Good to see Dinger make the show. AJ seems to make underfunded cars work and work well
I'm not a fan of the sponsor but that's pretty cool to see Wise get into the show.

As happy as I am for Phil Parson's team, they will be lucky to finish on the lead lap let alone finish better than the last couple of spots.

That's not the point. The point is that beating Danica in this fan vote is great publicity for both Dogecoin and PPR/Josh Wise. Dogecoin has been number one on /r/all for the past hour, and Wise and his crew have been getting much more coverage than usual, which is great for attracting other potential sponsors.
Not to mention that an entry into the All-Star Race guarantees him a cool $70,000 at the very least.

I never said that the team didn't deserve the press. It just seems to me that it's a mute point, because I think they'd get more press if they were competitive.

Two beers. He deserve it for wasting all that time voting, unless he came up with some sort of auto-vote mechanism. In that case, three beers!

Re: 2014 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race
From what I've seen, the racing was okay, although after McMurray took the lead, the end of the race was kind of meh. But it was an improvement over previous All-Star races for sure.
I just hope the 600 sees the same amount of improvement, because the 600 has been terrible the last couple of years.

McMurray was really unexpected, good win nonetheless.
Now Ben doesn't have to worry about him winning for the next ten years.

Re: 2014 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race
Jamie McMurray has now won the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, and the All-Star Race. He only needs to tick the 600 and Southern 500 off the checklist, and he'll have won all the big races in Sprint Cup.
