NASCAR All-Star Weekend
This week is all-star weekend in the NASCAR world. The Cup series is at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Sprint All-Star Race. Tonight, two 20 laps shootouts will be run to determine the rest of the lineup. (2 Winners and Fan vote). Last year, Bowyer won the showdown, Allmendigner got 2nd, and Josh wise won the fan-vote.

The Truck series comes back to CMS, after running last week at Kansas. Erik Jones ran out of fuel with 5 to go, after leading over 140 laps, and Matt Crafton saved enough to win, and take a 17 point lead over Tyler Reddick. Last time we were here, Kyle Busch won after leading all but 4 laps... Thankfully no Kyle Busch this week in Trucks, but the only cuppies are Kasey Kahne in the JRM 00, Kes in his 29, and Gilliland in the 92.

Meanwhile, in Iowa, the Xfinity series gets a stand-alone race with no cup regulars . Ben Rhodes makes his debut in the 88, Blaney is back, so is Boris Said. Last time we raced here, Kes won this race, saving them jobs. Sam Hornish won the first race here last year, beating Blaney.

Kahne's truck failed post-tech..
Too low on the front sides & too high on right rear.

The final 10 laps would of been fine if the package wasn't so shit.

NASCAR needs to actually make aero changes now rather than later

Re: NASCAR All-Star Weekend
I'm sorry, was there a race tonight? I couldn't tell because I zoned out before the green flag dropped.
GW Dennis. Awful race. Only good thing about this race was Harvick finishing P2 so I can get free Bloomin' Onions on my birthday next Monday.

A 1.0/10. I hope NASCAR is happy for screwing up the package for this year.
I thought Kez would win it. I give it to Hamlin, despite my dislike for him. It better than Harvick, Johnson and Logano winning. It doesn't mean this race was enjoyable. Geez!!!

The best part of this race was Larry Mac learning that his son won his first K&N race!

Re: NASCAR All-Star Weekend
Segments 1 and 2 weren't too bad, but the rest was uninspiring at best. Hamlin finally realising the lane Harvick was using in turn 2 was better than the inside with three laps left in the final segment killed this race dead. Dishonorable mention to Brad for blowing that last stop.
The issue I have with this current package is the "Tapered Spacer" in the engine. That drop of some 125 Horsepower really kills this package on entry and mid. It'd probably be just fine if the only new parts of the package this year was the smaller rear wing and the track bar adjuster, but nope nascar knows best.
It's high time nascar introduces a third trim package for the ovals that are a mile long with little banking, less than a mile ovals and for the road courses. Full Power, the Dive Planes that were tested at Michigan last year, and the large rear wing from last year. The current Plate package for Daytona and Dega and then this package minus the Restrictor Plate for the rest of the tracks.
They there that close to having a good package this year, but nascar chose to let it slip between their fingers.

Re: NASCAR All-Star Weekend
NASCAR parks Brennan Poole for retaliatory action against J.J. Yeley.
Dumb decision in my view. You see that stuff happen more often than not and no action is taken. I smell double standard here, especially by not parking Yeley earlier and yet parking Poole now. Just shows that they can't ever get a decision completely right. Good to see Poole standing his ground when interviewed by FS1.

Re: NASCAR All-Star Weekend
It would be one thing if Poole was still competitive and was seeking revenge, but JJ was surprisingly having a decent run and got taken out. Granted they had the earlier contact but ehh, on the fence about this call. Poole is driving for a team that has money and resources, while Yeley is driving for a little team that is lucky to be running like they are too. Did that have something to do with it? Maybe, but overall, just a dumb situation made dumber with the end conclusion.

Nice finish! Chris Buescher got the win! Chase 2nd, Bubba 6th!
Buescher gets the points lead.

Re: NASCAR All-Star Weekend
Ok, just saw a video of the incident... Yeley on Poole... that wasn't a racing deal. Doesn't make what Poole did right, but Yeley had it coming, much like Scott Speed and Ricky Steinhouse at Toledo in an ARCA race years back
