IndyCar's 2nd stop of the season at the Long Beach street circuit. Ryan Hunter-Reay is the polesitter, and is still leading so far. Graham Rahal decides to be a wrecking ball on the first restart of the race.

No action against Will Power? I'm starting to think Cynon is right about the officials love for Penske...

Again with these no-calls. GET BARNHART OUT OF THE SERIES!  Mad

EDIT: Nevermind. They just penalized Rahal. Good.

It looked like a racing deal to me. Power was going for the spot and Pagenaud closed the door.

Sucks these two are wrecking my fantasy Indycar stuff though. >Neutral

Been watching this for 20 years. Hard to miss Penske avoiding penalties -- even when Penske cars wrecked each other. There's a reason why I test how long people have been watching Indycar by asking them what they think of Roger Penske...

Guess if your name is Will Power you can wreck anyone you want to get the win.

Brainless move by Hunter-Reay. You could've easily waited two turns to actually make the move.

He had a wheel on Newgarden, but that's not really a smart place to make a move. Looked like the RHR of 3 years ago.

He could've used better judgement there. Newgarden was on cold tires, while Reay's were up to temp, so he could've waited a couple of turns to make the move. I guess because Hinch and Power were breathing down his back, he had to make the move quickly, and decided to try it in turn 4, and you see the results.

Watch that one with Dixon and Wilson again.

Wilson makes a move on the outside, and turns into Dixon first. How is that Dixon's fault? It was a pretty hopeless move...

... and that's why that one hurt, as a Coyne fanboy.

Pretty irrelevant now though, since Dixon didn't make it on fuel anyway.  Laughing

Pretty good race, although the officiating left much to be desired (I'm looking at you, Barnhart.) The Trulli train at the end certainly made the end of the race very interesting indeed. A lot of shenanigans near the end with Hunter-Reay and Dixon, and Conway stealing a win at Long Beach. (sigh) Long Beach, one of my favorite street courses, and today's a good reason why.

The 2014 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach gets an impressive 8.0/10.

Really glad Mike Conway stuck it to Will Power, awesome win for him. Looks like Ed Carpenter Racing's going to have a great year - I don't think this race counted towards Conway's quota of 1 weekend of being absolutely unstoppable.  Razz

Also, how about that Simon Pagenaud? He rallied back to 5th and called Power out on his crap on air. He gets mad props from me for that.

I have a question, why is everyone pointing their finger at Barnhart. Last I checked, Beaux Barfield is in charge of officiating, and all decisions are made on a vote of 3 people. (Barfield, Barnhart, and I believe the ex-racing driver of the week) Am I missing something?

Good to see IndyCar back to form, even if the officiating was a bit off. Though I will say, Power's move may have been pretty ambitious, but he did have a run up so it's understandable why he would go for it. And as for Wilson, did he really think he was going to make that pass on the outside?

Pre-2010 Ryan Hunter-Reay just resurfaced.

Great win for Conway, heartbreaker for Dixon. It's good to see a small team like Ed Carpenter Racing have success.

That's pretty much the same train of thought Ryan Hunter-Reay had when he took out Newgarden. Though at least RHR could get mostly alongside Newgarden.

Yeah. Was told Aleshin might have had a hand in it -- but the fact that he didn't makes it doubly pathetic. You know it's a bad year for the National Guard when Dale Jr. ISN'T their worst driver...
