So, I'll keep this short: This is the domestic league I ran over on NationStates, using the Aero88 mod. I ran the 1980-82 seasons and I'm picking up where I left off for 1982.

42 Car fields.

Please try to remain faithful to the actual chassis/engine combo as you can to their real life counterparts in this era. They didn't make Civics with 5L Flat 12's. However, the fictional marques have some wiggle room for "Homologation Specials". For example, in addition to their V6 and V8 offerings Arendall has a deal with Offenhauser for motors (think Ford and Cosworth, or literally anyone and Ilmor). However, if it's interesting enough I'll allow it (I'm sure you could squeeze an Offenhauser 4 cylinder into a Civic. Get creative, worst I'll say is no).

Ground effects will be permitted, but with significant aerodynamic penalties.

1983 Point System:

I will accept one off entries for the following races:

Daytona 500 - Daytona International Speedway, Daytona, FL, Whittoria
Big Walker Mountain Classic - Big Walker Mountain Speedway
World 600 - St. Lucia International Raceway
Bethesda 200 - The Bethesdaring
Summer 500 - Pocono Raceway
Southern 500 - Darlington International Raceway
Upstate 500 - Greenville Spartanburg International Speedway

Due to the large number of entries for this season, qualifying will have a few formats. All races will set the field via timed qualifying except for the following:

DAYTONA 500, UPSTATE 500
-Front Row determined by single run qualifying times
-Rest of field determined by Twin 125 mile qualifying races; Race 1 sets inside row, Race 2 Sets Outside Row

WORLD 600, SUMMER 500, SOUTHERN 500
-Front Row determined by single run qualifying times
-Rest of field determined by Twin 100 mile qualifying races; Race 1 sets places 3-22, Race 2 sets places 23-42

BETHESDARING
3 Rounds:
-Round 1: Fastest 30 on practice times
-Round 2: 30 Fastest set by Single Lap Runs (1:30 Practice Session)
-Round 3: Final 12 spots set by 4 lap qualifying race

BIG WALKER MOUNTAIN CLASSIC
All entries make single lap Q runs; Cars split into heats based on single lap runs
-Top 15 locked into final
-As many 30 heats are run as necessary until 33 car field is set; top 5 from each heat qualify for next heat
-Last chance qualifier for final 3 spots
-30 lap consolation race run to determine points for places 34-42
-150 lap final

Please note that while I am aware NR2003 is capable of fields greater than 42 cars, each race will only field 42. Daytona and one off events will have qualifying races to determine who makes the field. One off entries will have lower minimum ratings.

Also note that according to WAC regulations Grand National cars may also enter any event run to Group 3 & Group 4 Regulations, with necessary modifications being made. (Adding headlights & tail lights to your car, in character engine modifications, etc.).

I think you have to sign up for an account on Nationstates or ask someone who has a nation (or an account) over there if you can be on their national team... And Whitt, I will be participating, I may have my puppets or start a recruiting drive in ISRANIA.

Yes, I'll have it open by the end of the week.

And Woodard, no need to have a nation over on NS to participate, although if anyone else does (like I know you do) then your driver can participate as from your nation. In act 1981 saw the first foreign born driver to not only win a race but also the title.

So yeah, if you have or want a nation from NS for your driver to hail from go for it, otherwise they'll be a Whittorian.

Indeed, this is still happening. I can probably throw some renders of current teams up, bit all the template have been made. I've already run the first qualifying race for Daytona and the second I'll probably run tonight.

For tracks with less than 42 stalls I'll probably do qualifying races or go by practice times to get it down. Mostly at short tracks, but maybe at a few of the big tracks too.
