New Black Sabbath is pretty good. Drums are equal to those of Bill Ward in his prime, I'd say. That was the biggest surprise for me.

Re: The Music Thread
Decided to do this. Thought about it for a while, but here is my personal top-5 favorite songs of all-time. *WARNING*- None of these are from 1975 or later. View at your own risk.
- Spoiler:
- #5. God Only Know - The Beach Boys (1966)
After The Beatles released Rubber Soul in 1966. The Beach Boys next album Pet Sounds was Brian Wilson's answer to that album. For me it was hard to pick between this one and "Wouldn't It Be Nice", the other great song from this album, but when Paul McCartney himself called this song "his favorite song of all-time" and the fact this song was the first to make any mention of God in its title or otherwise, it makes my list.
- Spoiler:
- #4. In My Life - The Beatles (1966)
Of course, I'm sure anybody who's on here knows I'm a Beatles fan. But, this song is what I consider my favorite Beatles song. Written by John Lennon for Rubber Soul, the song was written in the form of a long poem reminiscing childhood years. George Martin, the Beatles sound engineer plays the piano solo in the middle of the song. The reason I put this one where it is is because of the reminiscing factor. When you listen to the lyrics, you do remember past experiences at least that's what happens to me. With Lennon's death in 1980, it is also a great way to remember him as well.
- Spoiler:
- #3. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin (1971)
One of the greatest songs ever released, the song was created from some guitar pieces that Jimmy Page had been working on. Release on Zeppelin's fourth studio album, Led Zeppelin IV, the song has become the unofficial greatest classic rock song of all-time. But why is it on my list? Simple, it rocks. From the backtracking controversy to the slow build up on the song to its rocking ending, Stairway is one of the examples of the perfect rock song.
- Spoiler:
- #2. Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who (1971)
First of all, let me say, that The Who are my favorite band of all-time so it makes sense that one of their songs is in my top 2. Written for 1971's Who's Next, the song has become well recognized for its electric organ and its outro. The version I used for the video is from The Kid's Are Alright, The Who's 1979 documentary, and is one of the last performance with drummer Keith Moon. Why is this song #2? Well, simply, it kicks ass. From the opening guitar note to the outro scream, drum solo, and guitar work, this song is pure unedited, uncut, and uncensored rock'n roll. Nothing more needs to be said.
- Spoiler:
- #1. American Pie - Don McLean (1971)
Written for the album of the same name in 1971, "American Pie" has become a well recognized song. The song's lyrics hold a mystery to them that has left people to determine for themselves what they mean. The most common meaning found in the lyrics is the reference to "The Day The Music Died", the name given to the day musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) were killed in a plane crash.
This song is #1 on my list for a couple of reasons. One, it is one of the first songs that I was able to learn all the lyrics to. To this day, when I've heard the song, I've sung along. Hell, if you asked me too, I will sing it (not the greatest or best singer ). Second, is the impact the song has made. Just a couple of years ago, Grand Rapids, Michigan, made a lipdub music video to the live track of this song which the late Roger Ebert called "the greatest music video ever made". Third, it's simply a good song. Yes, it's long but the lyrics and music give it a feel that I really enjoy and always have.
So, that's it. My top 5 favorite songs of all-time. I tried to include reason for picking those songs, but I think I did ok.

There is no album that makes me feel more nostalgic than Europop. There is not a single song that I did not like off of that album. I listened to this when I was a kid and I enjoyed every second listening to their music. It's too bad that the other albums they've made later on can't compare to this.

Cyriak (the guy that made this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQO-aOdJLiw) was contacted to make a video for Bloc Party. One trippy video, music alright but definitely more keen on older music by Bloc Party.
