- Madrigal unable for interview after Orange County
As Madrigal left back to his hauler looking down at his car, all he could say regarding his incident with Matthews was simple "My Fucking Steering locked, what else do you want to know?!" Madrigal would then shove the camera aside as he runs towards Matthews to at least try to apologize.

- Spoiler:
- Update on Scott Morales condition
Scott Morales, driver of the #76 Inglesby for Groves Racing, has passed away after a horrific crash after he was pushed into the turn four pit wall by Bill Tissom. He was pronounced dead at 2:56 in the morning. His cause of death was said to be a basilar skull fracture.
His Wife, TM Lights driver Andrea Kinasa was seen walking out of the Local Hospital with tears in her eyes. "I never knew the last time I would hear him speak would be before he got into the car, his last words to me was "I'm fucking shit up out there." She would continue on, but the rest of her words were drowned out by crying.
Scott Anthony Morales had only one win to his name, the 2010 Daytona 200, and one pole which came in Rockford of the same year. He leaves behind his wife, Andrea Kinasa, and his 2 year old son, Raymond Morales. He was 26 years old.

Re: 2012 Race 19 (Orange County 200)
- Spoiler:
- Stater Left With Mixed Emotions After Wreck, May Sit Out Plate Races??
The eighth crash of the Orange County 200's first round, which saw Scott Morales' car go head-on into the pit wall after contact with Carlo De Pretto, managed to collect Todd Stater, and while it was not quite as jarring for him as it was for the others collected, he still got quite a view.
Reporters managed to catch up with the driver of the #15 Inglesby after he was released from the infield care center.
"I just...I don't know, I saw De Pretto move down, then a second later two cars were up in the air, one was heading for my windshield, and I just whiplashed around. There. And I don't even want to think about what happened to Scott...what is it these past few years? We get new cars, every darn series gets new cars, and they're supposed to be so much better but now we have two guys in a season getting airlifted. When I started the worst that happened was some guy broke his thumb, I think. And he was back the next week.
"But I don't know why in the name of Mike they'd come to a track like this that's barely four cars wide, with pit walls coming at you everywhere, and expect someone not to find them."
When reminded that the Elite Series was set to head back to the Talladega Superspeedway, the site of the crash that put M-Pire contest winner Mark Freestone into critical condition and shut down the corporation's #85 team for a good amount of races, Stater didn't mince words.
"Oh god...oh god, I was trying to put that out of mind for the longest time. I don't even know anymore at this rate. We're going barely 150 and you have this happening...and then we have that place...and then New...New York...I don't know. I don't know if I could."
He then requested no further questions be given and left for the #15 hauler.

- Spoiler:
Tissom to sit rest of season
After the Orange County 200, in which Bill Tissom drove Scott Morales into the pit wall, the driver of the #07 7 Key Aftermarket Enhancements Tonare was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. His injuries were minor, but he was kept overnight because of the acute stress reaction he suffered in the crash.
The next day, Tissom, with tears in his eyes, gave a short response. "I-I'm absolutely devestated right now. It... it was my fault that Scott [Morales] is no longer with us, and... *sobbing* that moment is going to haunt me for the rest of my life. A life is more valuable than any trophy, and nothing I can ever do is going to make up for what happened. I'm not stepping anywhere near those ARLA cars for the rest of the season, not after what happened on the track yesterday. I offer my sincerest condolences to the family of Scott Morales." Tissom was then consoled by his wife of 15 years, and was escorted back to his home in Ames, Iowa.
Dan Richards is the likely replacement for Bill Tissom in the #07 7 Key Aftermarket Enhancements Tonare for Team Thunder.

After exiting his car following the his race, GLM's Jim More was told of Scott Morales passing. The following are his comments.
"All I can is life has its bright days and its dark days. Today was a dark day. I know I speak for everyone when I say my thoughts and prayers are with Scott's family and friends."
More declined any further comment and was seen going over to the pit wall and kneeling and bowing his head and saying prayer. More who is of Roman Catholic faith was joined by his wife and crew chief.

- De Pretto Heartbroken, Blames Himself for Morales' Death
Carlo De Pretto was involved in the accident that ultimately killed Scott Morales. He was despondent as he heard of Morales' death, and was already in tears when someone decided to talk to him.
"It is my fault for the Scott Morales die. I am so sorry for accident, maybe I should have made to slow down so he go by. I am very heartbroken" De Pretto said, before being escorted away by several crew members.
Bill Tissom would later take the blame for the incident, but that is not going to be of any consolation to Carlo De Pretto, who will still feel like he is at least partly responsible.
Delgado Mourns Morales & Implores Teams to Come Together and Race On
MRD Motorsports owner Tom Delgado lamented the loss of Scott Morales after tonight's Orange County 200. However, he also signaled his intention to let his teams travel to New York and any subsequent plate restrictor races in the future. Delgado spoke for nearly 15 minutes straight, and no questions were able to be asked. Here is the entire transcript of that speech.
"From what I'm told, the mood all over Orange County is very down, and I can understand why. Scott (Morales) was well-liked amongst the ARLA garage, and he was a pretty good driver too. No amount of words can express my sadness at this tragedy, and I personally send my condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Scott Morales. Every time we make a safety advance, something always happens. This is the world of motorsport that we live in, where even in the safest race cars, there is always great risk. Tonight's race showed that, and unfortunately we had to lose a really good human being. However, that should not deter us from continuing to do what we love. Scott knew the risks as far as getting into a race car, no matter how far we've come as far as safety goes. We all take that risk when we strap ourselves in, yet we still do it. Now is not the time to give up. Now is the time to honor Scott by standing together and doing what he would probably expect us to do, by racing. MRD Motorsports will be at the New York Autoring, ready to race. I know everyone else will be as well."

- Fight between Borland and Zins ensues after race
As Phillip Borland was being interviewed about the contact between him and Ebeneezer Quiggles Jr. , former teammate Zachary Zins came up to him and accused him of trying to kill him after he had in fact come down into him early in the first race. A brief fistfight ensued before they were broken up. Zins was able to shout at him "PHILISTINE!" before being escorted away.

Greg Woodard and the TIMmy crew had a mediocre run at Orange Country fairgrounds in the second round. Like many drivers, Woodard had protested about the race being restarted after the crash that took Morales's life. "Look, they cancelled the 2nd round after Freestone's crash at Talladega but they refuse to show Morales, his crew, or his family the same treatment?!" Woodard ripped into the officials about their bad call. "I just hope he pulls through."

- Jennifer Goodwin suffers broke hand in crash with Porteau, devastated by Morales death, Done for season?
Jennifer took a ride to a local hospital for x-rays to her hand, which confirmed that she indeed broke her hand in her accident with Bobby Porteau. Jennifer was frustrated not only with the wreck but the fact she has had a struggling season in ARLA and this wreck led to her 8th DNF of the season.
During her stay at the hospital she watched the conclusion of the ARLA race in which she witnessed the Morales wreck. Goodwin was visibly shaken up by the wreck and was seen in tears after leaving the hospital.
It is unknown how the injury and the emotions will affect Goodwin with 3 races left in the season. There have been rumors that she is on the way out of the team at the end of the year.

- Bill Calhoun and father Michael saddened about Scott Morales' passing
in race 1 of the Orange County 200, Scott Morales was killed in a horrifying accident, and it was the second fatality in ARLA history. Bill Calhoun and his father Michael Calhoun were very saddened with the news, as they were watching the race in the infield.
Bill Calhoun: "you know, it's just terrible to see this happen, but it's a part of racing. you have to take risks, and sometimes it dosen't work out. R.I.P. Scott."
Michael Calhoun: "it's just... really bad. i wish i knew him... hopefully his family can move on and i send my Condolences to the Morales family."

- Prestige Motorsports Sends Condolences to Morales Family
"We are all very saddened to hear of the unfortunate fate of Scott Morales", Prestige Motorsports owner Carter Wesley announced the morning after the Orange County 200. "Scott was an honorable competitor in the brief moments that we were alongside him, and my family and everyone at the shop will be praying for his family".
The Prestige team has announced that they will carry memorial decals of a white #78 in a black oval at the remaining races on both the #027 and 111 cars, and are reportedly encouraging Elite Series officials to require them on all cars.
Richard Scott Continues Strong Start with 14th Place Finish, Blasts Todd Stater
Richard Scott has continued to impress early in his ARLA Elite Series career, finishing 14th in his second career start at the Orange County 200; however, he did not have kind words in response to Todd Stater stepping out of the #15 car for the rest of the year.
"What kind of driver does Todd think he is? He knew the risks when he stepped into the car, we all did. He needs to suck it up and move on, like everyone else".
Aaron Singer On His Underwhelming Debut
After finishing 23rd in his ARLA Elite Series debut and doing little of note except impeding the leaders' progress, Aaron Singer took the time to respond to some of his newfound critics on his apparent lack of talent.
"Everyone needs to just fuck off and give me a goddamn chance, it's my first fucking race. Does everyone seriously expect me to run like... Alex Rainsford or... Adrien De-vor-ox my first time off? You gotta be shitting me!"
Singer has two more scheduled races remaining, the Zing Energy 300 and the Rockford 200, and will run part-time next year.

Re: 2012 Race 19 (Orange County 200)
- Spoiler:
- Posadas shocked and saddened at the passing of Morales
Kelly Posadas, who will be running in ARLA in 2013, couldn't believe the news of Scott Morales passing away and couldn't hide her tears in shock and sadness,"It's never a pretty site to see someone be killed in such terrible circumstances, I was in the paddock at the time watching the race on TV and at the moment of Morales' impact, it was a terrifying site. These things happen in Motorsport, but I can't hide my tears at such a tragic crash. Morales was an awesome race driver with lots of talent behind the wheel, and winning once at Daytona."
She then also stated this about the accident,"I don't think the circumstances of his accident had anything to do with the car at all. The pitwall at Orange County is in a wrong place. If it was at least put 50 metres further down the track the Morales wouldn't have hit it. But I really can't blame anyone for this, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. My prayers and condolences are within his family, RIP Scott Morales."

Re: 2012 Race 19 (Orange County 200)
- Spoiler:
- Ashley Tucker and Ben Atkins both distraught by death of Morales
At the time of the crash, according to himself, Ben Atkins was watching the race in his hauler, with Carla Rosinski who was in America for Dash Cup commitments, then when it happened, Atkins literally stood up, and walked to the other side of the hauler, into a different room. Rosinski went over to him, and after a small conversation, she was seen leaving the hauler, and talking to the crew of the #84 car.
"I told Carla I didn't want to race. I knew that was bad." said Atkins, the day after the accident. "I just seen it, and sat there in darkness with my head in my hands. I just said to Carla 'I'm not racing, tell the crew guys that.' I changed my mind by the end of the race. It's part of being a racecar driver. It sucks, but it's true."
Atkins continued on, describing what he did after the race; "I just got out of my car, and my crew told me I got 10th. I gave them all high fives and stuff like that on a job well done, but then I just went back to the hauler, and turn my television on the sports news channel. I stayed up all night, watching the TV, then when it was announced in the early morning, I honestly sat there and cried. It's a dark day in racing, but... we have to carry on. I just want to send all my condolences out to Andrea, and the rest of Scott's family."
Tucker's reaction was also one of extreme negativity, but she was in the race. She had this to say, with tears still building up, and occasionally going down her face; "I just heard my spotter say 'Oh no' over the radio, and I knew it was bad. I drove by the accident under one of the caution laps, and I just seen what looked bad. I don't want to say much more. I can't." She then walked over to Tom Delgado, and they went their own way together.
Ben Atkins is planning to run all black cars in his Dash Cup races at Illinois, and New York, but plans to keep his ARLA scheme the same.
Lucy Barnton's first top 10 overshadowed by crash
Lucy Barnton would usually be happy with a top 10, especially in a series as high-caliber as ARLA, however, as she said over twitter, she felt like she can't be happy about it gathering all of the incidents in the race. Lucy finished 8th race 1 of the event, the same race in which Scott Morales had his crash.
Barnton was unavailable for interview, but she will be back for Rockford, and hopefully for the 2013 season.

Lester offers condolences to Morales and family
Casey Lester: My deepest condolences go out to Scott Morales' family. I never got to know him, but I heard he was a really nice guy. That was an unfortunate racing incident, but I would also like to call out the safety hazard that this track has: those two or three openings in the wall in Turns 3 and 4. Now I know that Scott was turned on one of the unluckiest spots to be turned on the track, but for god [bleep]ing sake, extend the wall! This way, we don't worry about this type of wreck happening! I don't know why the hell they thought "Oh, if somebody gets turned into one of those walls at about 120 mph and there's another car behind him almost impaling it into the wall, he'll walk away, right?" Well, what do you think? I'm asking for ARLA to please seal off those openings in the wall if you decide to race there again.

Tragedy Mars PSI Sweep @ Orange County
Power Steering Incorporated scored on their triple double threat, but owner William Power was understandably solemn after the conclusion of the Orange County 200.
"There is a dark cloud hovering over it for sure. What should have been a joyous night of celebration in our short history will now forever be linked to the tragedy that occurred when Scott Morales lost his life. It's hard to put into words the sorrow we feel for his family and team. They have our deepest sympathy and we offer our heartfelt condolences. That said, I think ARLA did the right thing this time by concluding the event even in the face of such a tragedy. I took some heat for my stance at the Radii 300 a while back when the Mark Freestone incident occurred, but I still stand by those comments. I know it's difficult to want to finish these races after such things as this happen. I know we all want to halt everything in the moment. But we can't. We must push on even through the tears and move towards the future. We have to for them as well as ourselves. I think almost every driver would want the races to continue in the event something terrible were to befall them. Most don't want it to become their tombstone or a memorial. We grieve for them but we move on as a testament to them and their competitive spirits. Anything less would be a disservice to their memories."
As for the races themselves, PSI was unable to complete the "threepeat" of 1-2 finishes, but was able to get the 3 consecutive race event wins. But a 1-5-1 result was almost just as good.
"We didn't make history the way we'd hoped, but I think we did in another way. Has anyone swept the top spots in 3 races back-to-back-to back?" asked William Power. "Either way, it was a first for us anyway."
Bigsby Foote took Race 1 in fairly convincing fashion while teammate Libby Bell managed a top 5 after winning Race 1 at the previous event at Memphis Motorsports Park. Rip Tyler, who after a sluggish start to open the season, surged to the front to win Race 2. All three of the PSI drivers are in the Top 10 in the championship standings with Tyler highest at 4th, Foote in 5th, and a revitalized Bell now in 7th.
Tyler seems to have an unusual affinity for strange track surfaces as he won his first race on ice and 2 wins have been on dirt tracks. "I guess I like to get dirty," Tyler joked.

- SnakePlissken wrote:Power Expresses Concerns at Talladega; Takes Unpopular Position on Wiping Race Results
Power Steering Incorporated owner William Power was interviewed shortly after the Radii 300 had been officially called and the results wiped.
"I've been concerned with the weight of the cars for some time. They seem to get airborne, a little or a lot, with every single crash. I'm also concerned about flying debris being launched into other cars and especially into the grandstands. ARLA was just plain lucky no one was severely injured in the stands at the Rookie Shootout a couple of weeks ago. When these cars take a hit, they just seem to explode with such force and shrapnel goes flying. Don't even get me started with the M-Pire promotion fiasco."
When asked about the wiping of the race results, Power took an unconventional stance. "First, I want to say that we're all praying for both Freestone and Pushanda. But, and this is just me talking here, but I'm going to take the stance that the wiping of the results of that race was the wrong thing to do. I feel it's a complete disservice to Freestone or any other driver for that matter. Everyone out there on that grid had a job to do and they did it. It was a knee-jerk reaction. To delete their efforts from the record books is an injustice to their efforts. And God forbid, if the worst happens, it just doesn't seem right that it happened when nothing counted-- like it was in vain or something. I don't know if anyone else will agree with that old school philosophy or not, but I'm prepared to hear the chorus of boos reign down on my controversial statement. That's just how I honestly feel about that issue."PackerMan71 wrote:GRI team owner Packer Carroll was not at Talladega this week, as he was preparing for the TM Master Cup Series 2012 season opener at Las Vegas. When he learned of what happened, he had this to say.
PACKER: Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mark Freestone's family and friends, and we hope for the best for him. But I agree with Will Power in that they should not have wiped the race results, because it made the running of the race completely meaningless, and all it did was cost the teams a lot of money. They should've called the race, but kept the results, and allowed race 2 to happen. Some of these teams can't afford this kind of thing to happen again.SnakePlissken wrote:"Well, I'm glad someone else finally showed some intestinal fortitude when speaking out on the issue of wiping the race results," Will Power stated. "And all of us here at PSI are still continuing to pull for Mark Freestone to recover."

Nikos Kastapolous once the news spread of the Morales tragedy:
"Wow.. I gotta say, you know it's tough that everybody at ARLA has to deal with this kind of thing. PSI and Morales especially really helped our organization out with establishing ourselves in this family that is the ARLA Elite Series. He was a heck of a driver too, his win at Daytona two years ago was the moment that even got me thinking about making it to this series. My condolences to the Morales's family and everyone who knew him dearly man, great driver and a great person."

Finguy's concerns at Orange County
In a resent result at the Orange County 200, Finguy sent out a quick 15 second video on the result after Scott Morales' unfortunate wreck.
"...you know racing can be deadly, I even suffered an injury after a big wreck at a exhibition at Road Atlanta. Let's just say I wasn't functional at my left hand for 3 weeks. But I hope that my thoughts & prayers are with Scott's family, at this unfortunate time..."

Gaffigan Snaps at Latest Penalty
Kyle Gaffigan has had a tough season. A penalty after the Orange County 200 made it worse. This time, he imploded and snapped when asked for his thoughts.
"Why do they always penalize me?!? They never ask for my side of the story, they just assume since it's me that "Oh we can penalize him and he'll just stare at us happily!". It's not fair!!!" Gaffigan yelled as he began to have a tantrum.
His team boss, Tom Delgado, on the other hand, was not impressed. "This is what, the 5th or 6th time he's been penalized this season? This is why we're having to downscale. Unprofessional conduct and no respect for the other drivers. He'll never make it in this sport without taking some responsibility!" Delgado said.
