Greg Maddox started on the pole and led the first 7 laps, but was passed by David Hetzel on lap 8 when he was held up by a slow Flint Stoneman.
Alex Alenko was running fairly slow as usual when he was dumped into the outside wall in the final turn by Chuck Johnson. The damage would be too much for the 47 team to repair, and he would retire from the race. The next lap, Chuck Johnson would come across Creeper Stevenson, who was making his first attempt of the year, and promptly bowled through him, turning him into the tires in the 2nd-to-last turn.
On lap 11, while running in the final transfer spot, Fazi D'Annenzo was holding up Bobby Dollar coming off of the final turn when Dollar decided to dump the 62 into the inside wall. D'Annenzo would continue on, albeit heavily damaged. Dollar was given a warning for his impatience.
Andy Lambert would have gotten the Champion's Provisional, but entering the final turn he got tired of Gavriella Apollou holding him up and he turned her into the outside wall, taking both cars outside the track. The officials deemed this as an avoidable collision, and his Champion's Provisional was revoked.
Shortly after the qualifier, the local climate around Mosport International Raceway changed dramatically and a 1km-thick glacier slowly encroached on the bounds of the racetrack. The teams had to evacuate the surrounding area, and the track was deemed to be lost. Road America in Wisconsin has stepped forward and offered to hold the main race in place of the glaciated Mosport.

Stoneman Slow in Debuting Acura
Flint Stoneman held up Greg Maddox on lap 8 as that team was trying to break in a whole new car. The Acura RL was making its debut with MRD Motorsports, and Stoneman did not exactly do it justice.
"We were slow in all the practices and slow in the race. Slow is the word I'd use to sum us up this weekend" Stoneman's crew chief said. Stoneman himself was not available for comment, as he was riding on the glacier which has encased Dan Leckliter. Stoneman was seen with a small hammer and chisel trying to break Leckliter out of there, but to no avail.

Preston Bell has reportedly rushed to the scene where Daniel Leckliter was frozen in a glacier and has tried to free Daniel from his icy prison with the support of a few friends.
Barry Juveno laughed at Leckliter and went over to Road America.
Lenny Jacobs is thoroughly working on his setup for the race.

After the qualifying session, Owner Camyron Jackson was interviewed:
"Wow, was not expecting that weather change to happen. We've gotten out of their before the glacier hit. Crazy stuff, never seen that before in my life. Qualifying as usual was nothing to talk about, though the guy that took our car out needs to, no pun intended, chill out."
The Team Owner is also considering joining the Austrailian Motorsports team in not showing up at the restricter plate races to also protest the current speedway package.
"While we aren't really quick to be in the main races, We also share the belief that the current Restrictor plate package is too dangerous and needs to be changed. Even then, I've witnessed some cases where you don't need the other cars to have something go horribly wrong at those speeds, just takes one thing like a exploding tire and you just become powerless to the destruction that ensues afterwards."

Leckliter breaks free of frozen prison, 23,000 years in the future
PCC Cup driver Daniel Leckliter was frozen in a glacier that cancelled the Mosport event, was found frozen solid on the outskirts of Hooker Hole, Louisiana.
"Amazingly I still had my racecar with me, and in 23,000 years they have enough resources to build a time machine like how they did in Back to the Future, shit was so cash"
He was also asked on what happens in the future.
"I know I may be changing the future but, Half Life 3 would come out 4 years after 2012, the whole 2012 "End of the World" thing actually happened when the Browns make the playoffs, Ron Paul becomes president in 2016, in 300 years the Cubs win the World Series, and after 300 years I can't tell you due to I got in one little fight and my mom got scared

(and yes that is a real place name)

Upon hearing the Leckliter's trip to the future indicated the Browns made they playoffs, Cameron Taylor, a native of a west side suburb of Cleveland (I'm not telling you were I live...), thanked Leckliter for the good news.
Andrew Tammerzan lobbied the officials to run the race at Mosport even though a glacier now covers several sections of the track. This is believed to be connected to Tammerzan's Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort Sponsorship.
