IndyCar Silly Season Rumors

This article just screwed with my mind. Was not expecting this at all.

I have to say, this has been a pretty bizarre week with all of these racing news we've been hearing all week. I'm not just talking about NASCAR, but other series too. I hope DRR and Oriol can find some sponsors somehow.

I wouldn't be shocked if they run some post Indy races, but it depends on how good Oriol Servià does for Indy.
The fact that they have a sponsor for next years 500 illustrates a problem IndyCar has. Although it is front page news every May they struggle outside of Indy.

I knew they were not long for this world after the whole Lotus deal took place -- that was a move of pure desperation.

Pippa Mann has just announced via her website that she will drive a car for Dale Coyne Racing at the Indy 500.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan is running the #17 for Jourdain.

As for the possible drivers, I believe Chase Austin got replaced, I haven't heard anything about Scheckter in about a year and a half, Kurt Busch has already said he probably won't do the double this year, the Laziers may run still, and if Legge and Zanardi do not have anything worked out yet, we probably won't see them on the track.
