Best finish of the year so far.
Great racing and Congrats to Marcos.
With 2 to go i would have bet money that Kyle had it.

Way to lose the lead Kyle Busch, Marcos Ambrose must thank him for giving him the lead on the last lap.

Best finish all season. Period.
I was literally screaming and cheering at the top of my lungs for the entirety of the last lap. I wasn't cheering for anyone in particular, but the racing was just so great, it in itself was worth going crazy for. I almost lost it when they went through the bus stop.
This is the kind of racing NASCAR needs more of. Two competent, respectful race car drivers who know how to fight each other without playing dirty.
Wonderful race and finish, congrats on the win Mr Ambrose. I'm gonna go lie down.

Re: Finger Lakes 355
My opinions and views on the aftermath of this race:
Overall, this race was great, one of the more better races than we've seen this Season. This is why the Sprint Cup needs more Road Courses. After his spin late in the race, Dale Earnhardt Jr has not only lost the points lead but has also dropped to 4th in the standings, 17 points behind new points leader Jimmie Johnson (inb4jimmiewins6thtitle), but it still ain't the chase yet so I don't know why I was moaning about it then.
The last lap was very tense, with Kyle Busch spinning and Marcos Ambrose taking before surviving several bumps from Brad Keselowski to take the win. Basically Ambrose has taken all of his Road Course V8 Supercar experience to NASCAR with great effect.
Overall, I do say this but I give this race a rating of 10/10.

During the last lap, I could feel my heart pounding my chest, and I'm still shaking. I've seen Sprint Car A-Mains where the leaders were 3-wide at the finish and it still was not as exciting as this finish.
Re: Finger Lakes 355
The reason they didn't throw the caution when Labonte blew up was because Kyle was in the lead, but man that finish. I think both Brad and Ambrose said it best, this is how racing should be.antknee wrote:lot's of complaints about the lack of a caution with oil on the track but it made for an interesting finish. good clean racing with Kes and Ambrose. Re: Finger Lakes 355
What a finish. That is the NASCAR I have been so longing to see for the past 3 or so years: drivers and officials returning back to basics and the "balls out" style of years past.
What's wrong with modern era NASCAR is simple. The series is trying too hard and has overcomplicated itself tremendously.Today's finish proved just that. The points chase, politics, and overall BS were thrown aside; two drivers stepped up to the plate and laid it all on the line for the win while the officials stepped aside in the closing stages and allowed everyone to battle it out without influencing the finish. We could have very easily seen a yellow called, but the race was allowed to continue. The track conditions proved tricky but obviously the drivers handled it without incident.
What we need isn't more roadies, nor rules tweaks. We just need to go back to the basics and keep it simple. Put the Chase, GWC's, safe racing and all of that crap out of everyone's minds and just race like today showed.

This, and introduce the TM Master Cup Series' points system, and get rid of this "everybodygetspointslol" BS.

This race was Awesome, Hands-down the best Nascar Cup and Nascar in general race of the year. That finish was flat-out amazing.
The lone reason i'm sour on this finish is a real-life issue that happened to rear it's ugly head during the race, I won't go into specifics but it's the reason i wasn't on TS and the reason i couldn't get the full enjoyment out of that race. It's so petty and stupid it' kills me.
/End Venting
So happy that Ambrose won. That finish was nothing short of the nascar we grew up watching and loved tier. Hornish with a great finish on the cup side. Smith scoring points for me in Dice Game with a nice top 10. This might be the first Nascar race i might actually watch again the same day.

That race was great, start to finish IMO. The ending was just icing on the cake. Some of my favorites didn't run the best, and when they were running well, messed it up somehow. *coughkaseyjrandtonycough*
Also, Joe Nemechek finished 29th, and woulda finished top-25 had he not had his problem with three to go. Regan Smith finished top-10 in mid-pack equipment, and Scott Speed ran well all day in bad equipment. I approve of this.
And:
How about Cup too, in the same weekend.
