Track I'm working on
I came up with this about a year ago, before I even started playing NR2003:
And now I'm working on it in Sandbox.
So, yeah. It's gonna get weird.
EDIT: Beta V3. Right here:

Wow, that looks funky man, maybe it could be used in a league here if it's good enough... Or online Just don't forget a good pit lane...
Great layout, however the elevation changes and banking in some of the turns is a bit... silly? I would also recommend to change the Tuttle areas after something more in line with other tracks like you have elsewhere around the track. But they are recommendations only.

I still can't take the name Tuttle seriously, no matter how much I try...
The banking seems a bit ridiculous. The layout seems alright though.

1.) It's how I pay tribute to one half of my family. My uncle also coached a guy whose last name was Tuttle when they won the national title, and he was an outstanding athlete. I don't care if you take it seriously or not, just don't make fun of it.
2.) Like most things I come up with, it's the deranged love child of many ideas. One of those being, "what if the Nurburgring had a section of Daytona-like banking?" Thus, the two high banked sections. I think the original thinking behind them was that the first one would allow you to carry speed after coming from the long downhill section and smoothly transitioning to slower speeds, and the second one would allow for a chance to slingshot for the win. Or something like that.
Although while I'm thinking about it the Haighturn probably won't end up being 14 degrees in banking, but it'll be a sharp downhill transition, like the corkscrew at Laguna Seca.

A tad over 11 miles is what I'm shooting for. The Long Hill is going to be pretty long.

Re: Track I'm working on
This is probably going to take a very long time as well, just to get the circuit connected and all the levels right, and then getting permission to use objects from other tracks. I may at some point cut it short and release a short version of the track (a GP-Strecke, if you will). It might be January before this whole thing is done.

While I'm thinking about it, would anyone here like to participate in alpha and beta testing? Just a couple of people with a wheel or joystick willing to log laps on a naked track.

Why not?
Also, F5 needs to run at this track when it gets finished.

Excellent, many thanks. I've gotten to the Haighturn in Sandbox, levels I've finished about halfway up the Long Hill. I'll pm you both my email and eventually the link to the track to so ya'll can zip around it and tell me everything wrong with it (half joking there).

Yeah, that'd be great. I'll PM you my email address.
I'd just request that all official releases come from myself and that only the people I've sent my email and ISRA guys don't distribute it to anyone but between themselves, at least until the track is 100% complete.

Re: Track I'm working on
Progress Update:
The Haighturn, the track's highest point of elevation.
Layout as of right now, just under nine miles in length.
It's not going to be 11 miles (it will be longer), but the good news is if you run out of gas at the top of the hill you might be able to make it back to the pits just by coasting down!

If I may say, I would just connect those 2 ends and make it an INSANE straight . But its your track though.

Thanks for all the feedback and offers to test, everyone. If I've sent you my email address make sure to send a message my way saying you're from EFR, that way I can put you all in a group to send download links.
When this thing is finished, I'd like for the first online race to be one that uses the AD67 mod.

Oh god, that last screenshot, that is basically if Eau Rouge and the Nordschliefe had a baby, and that baby was possessed by the devil. That corner looks like absolute PAIN.

I. love. this. The corners in the 3rd track surface screenshot look like they need a bit of reconfiguring but it looks like a challenging track.

It just kinda happened. I think I was looking at the height views up to that point and thought to myself, "Hmmm....must make elevation higher". Then, upon realizing the set of corners I decided to raise it with, I thought, "Well what if it was like the corkscrew at Laguna Seca, but uphill?"
It's not all that bad, the hard part is not spinning the tires at the top of the hill.
I. love. this. The corners in the 3rd track surface screenshot look like they need a bit of reconfiguring but it looks like a challenging track.
There's two sets of corners like that on the downhill section, one of them will probably end up getting straightened up so it'll flow better.
The ridiculous banking just looks silly, to be honest...
other then that 30 degree banked turn, I'm liking what I see here
For now it's staying. If it changes it won't happen until a public beta is out and people have had a chance to drive around it, so keep an open mind about it until you actually take a few laps around it; I'll listen to suggestions for what to put in its stead at any point.

Oh my god. This layout is absolutely perfect. So many good passing zones, really fluid. The only grip I have is that the nearly 90-degree uphill; that corner is going to be PAIN
The banking is epic. I love that corner. Absolutely needs to stay.
So far so good. Give yourself a pat on the back, very nice job. I can see you've obviously taken some traits from the Nordeschlife

I'm going to be hosting open testing with the IndyCar mod if anyone's interested. It'll be up most of this afternoon and evening and probably some this weekend. Just to get a feel for driving around in traffic along with other general dicking around.

Very nice work, from what I saw of it. That reverse Corkscrew is going to be death to a lot of cars...including the one I drove in the server. I got through it OK only to flip the car at the top of the hill.

Fixed reverse corkscrew. Still steep and still a great challenge, and you'll still bottom out, but more managable than before.

This might just replace the Dwyer Speedpark as my standpoint of NR2003 track greatness. (I prefer using TM canon names for tracks to avoid confusion.)
