Some tracks I've been working on.
Hi, my name's Dustin and I'm a friend of Ben's. We've been talking to each other for a long time and he showed me this place and stuff.
Anyway, this is the first track I've made for this game. Ben told me he bugged some guys on TS to test it and they said that they liked it, so here it is.
It's a 2.3 mile road course with some tight corners and one highly banked corner that gets tighter.
It's not finished, in fact I don't even have a name for it yet, but I've added some scenery and stuff (mostly taken from Watkins Glen) so that it looks nice. I'll probably make some of my own textures later when I have time.
~amazing features~
The race LP sucks so expect the AI to act a bit weird. Default fast setup is just watkins glen's fast setup with the gear ratios changed. Could use a new one if anyone here's good at that, as your tires overheat quite quickly. I've also been having this strange bug where all the car's shadows turn solid black on certain parts of the track. No idea what that's about.
Any help, tips, criticisms, etc are welcome, of course.

I've been working on another track as well. First person to tell me what game this is from wins the amazing prize of absolutely nothing! (ben doesn't count)

- Fully working AI! (that wrecks in the chicane a lot)
- Working starting grid positions!
- Go smashing over all the walls!
- Turn 6 banked 15 degrees!
- Setups! (that I copied from the glen.)
- Scenery!
- Broken animated billboards!
- And much more.

That track on the bottom is from Daytona USA. Sorry I don't have any opinions on the other track since I'm not good at the roadcourses, lol.

i really like it, and i also like the fact that on just my first lap there i was able to keep up with 100% AI with a slightly damaged engine, until denny hamlin spun me into the gravel trap in turn 1, but really fun

Thanks for all the comments, guys. I'm currently trying out some texture editing and stuff. Expect to see a TMMC texture pack out at some point.
It's completely the wrong font, but I can fix that.

Tracks are looking nice, Dustin. I really like the sort of forested look of the road course. I know you're planning on adding new scenery, but I'd recommend keeping that wooded feel when you do.

Thanks everyone. I've always loved tracks like Spa and the old Hockenheim circuit, so I wanted to make one with the same sort of look.

Re: Some tracks I've been working on.
Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated in so long. Here's a list of the things I've done so far:
> Added cameras around Illebianchi Raceway (new name for the road course)
> Lots of work on Sega International Speedway, including making the track actually be 1.0 miles long and fixed some proportions, banking, etc. Also added the pitlane.
It'd be great if someone could make a proper setup and race.lp for Illebianchi, since I'm pretty bad at making setups.

Re: Some tracks I've been working on.
I might have to give that D_trk1 a test. If I like it, it might show up as a TMMC track... not a huge fan of ridiculous banking on road courses, though (I did flatten turn 3 at HLR, that corner previously had megabanking).
Re: Some tracks I've been working on.
Go for it. Any suggestions are welcome. People tell me that the AI is actually really good on this track, though for me they keep wrecking when on 100%. I've also had this bug where limping cars go around a full lap before pulling into the pits, don't know what's happening with that.

Looks a bit long for 2.5 miles...

Re: Some tracks I've been working on.
With the exception of that first sector, it looks almost exactly like Bahrain.
Re: Some tracks I've been working on.
I'm not sure how long it would actually be. I took a whack at the distance. What would be your recommendation?dustyjo wrote:Looks a bit long for 2.5 miles...

I don't see the resemblance.

Re: Some tracks I've been working on.
That awkward moment when you realize Bahrain has a built-in oval and drag strip....
Anyway, these tracks look really interesting dusty.

New version of illebianchi, with some bugs fixed and things. No cams in this one yet since they aren't finished.
Also, super basic pre-alpha version of Sega International Speedway. Nothing is set up yet except the track shape and banking. No scenery, AI lines, or anything yet. I'd like some feedback on it...and maybe a decent setup if someone could help me with that.

Re: Some tracks I've been working on.
Greg, look at the endurance layout for Bahrain.
Dusty, I did a test or two with the AI at D1, and aside from the last two corners, the LPs are fine.
I'm not a fan of the huge banked corner, though.
Honestly, what I would do (and I did something similar to this to La Colina recently), is make it a huge downhill drop into the final two corners. In other words, make a steady climb with the previous few turns and then a huge drop leading into the final two corners.
You still get a huge high speed run to the last corner without the need of cheesy banked corners.
Given my attitude towards non-championship races for this TMMC season (which means I'll add them suddenly and treat it as if all the teams knew about them beforehand), D1 looks like it could slip into the calendar.

Hi. Sorry to bump an old thread, but is this still a thing?
