Re: 2013 Silly Season Thread
Rumors circulating about Terra International Motorsports and Lycoia hitting the big time?! Yes says the 'experts' at Touringcarracing.net*.
So far, any rumors that have circulated about the team or manufacturer being granted the full time spots for 2013 have been fervently denied or shot down by team members at TIMmy and employees at Lycoia Motors repeatedly. That still didn't stop the so called 'experts' from pitching in that the rumors were true and nothing anyone else said would be true. It seems that the site itself and it's web host Webapalooza.com* are being told to take down the 'confirmed' rumors or face being sued for damages related to the team suffering mental duress over phone calls and emails spammed over the course after the rumors were 'confirmed' by users not associated or related to either organization.
Also, circulating rumors about what drivers would be taking part in the whole move to full time are being speculated by said 'experts' and no word has come from the team. Even if the team goes full time, it is unlikely Woodard would be able to keep his number as it's rumored the numbering system may be revamped for full time teams.
The rumor list as of now... on the site anyway, this is not the confirmed listing, providing the officials don't decide to use the rumored list as the actual list...
Terra International Motorsports - Lycoia Interceptor
Greg Woodard (USA)

(*) - These sites may or may not exist in real life. If they do, please don't use those as reference points.
(**) - If Sakura Motoko wins the TM Lights championship, she'll move to the second driver spot. If she doesn't rumors are flying about other free agents as possible choices. That's if they themselves are booted from their rides...
(***) - Several drivers are going through my head at the moment. I may bring in someone from my own arsenal or use another driver I planned in the spot but I'm having second thoughts about... especially if they wreck another car without being touched by another car during the qualifying rounds...
What?! Several drivers up for consideration for second seat, rumors pick several TMMC drivers as possible candidates...
With the list growing of possible teams kicking drivers off or resigning them back on for the 2013 season, Terra International Motorsports is looking through possible free agents or drivers with their current rides in question for the second slot for a full time ride in 2013 as a trial run.
"Look, until the officials say whether or not we're in, we can't exactly tell anyone who's up for consideration. However, we have contacted several drivers who have had issues regarding their team this year or have left their team altogether for a better opportunity. Right now, we are looking for a consistent driver who will bring in a large sponsor. Sure Woodard already has Nikon confirming him next year. But we can't just look onto that for our major funding." Gerald Lamb, the team owner, wrote on his blog. "Right now we are looking for a sponsor that is either a soda or juice based, a candy based, or a major food supplier to fill the void. Sure, we may have Skullcandy coming in if Mr. Durbin decides to not wreck another car without so far making it past the first few corners. We personally have to pay for things we break... other than that, everything is supplied or covered by the manufacturer itself." Lamb continued. "Other sponsors are most likely going to be Phoenix Performance, which will most likely be seen at Indianapolis or Decatur if the entry is accepted. Basically, the most important factors are that you have the skill, the patience, and the sponsorship to get the second slot. That's pending if Ms. Motoko doesn't beat the living snot out of everyone in TM Lights for the Championship."
"As for Woodard, he is staying on after his performance at Carbondale, he's due to attempt Grand Detour again, hopefully he can finish that race and get back into the race for the Independent's Trophy Championship. His next races will determine if the team does indeed have what it takes to go forward."

Eichholtz Atlantic Racing Lodges Bid for Full-Time Slot
In a rather unsurprising move, Eichholtz Atlantic Racing has confirmed they will attempt to be on the full-time grid for 2013. Numerous reports have stated that a 2013 chassis has already been built and the team plans to use it next season. This entry is the merging of two Independents' Trophy teams, Eichholtz Autosport and Atlantic Motorsports. It is believed the two teams merged to help their chances of going full-time.
Team owner Patrick Eichholtz commented: "I believe the time is right, we have our new version of the E231 sitting in our shops. I think with all the MCMA stuff going on, the officials will look at our entry as a possibility. If that can't happen, then we will run for the Independents' Trophy again."
When asked what drivers would be attached, Eichholtz said, "Jacob [Eichholtz] and Ben [Atkins]. Jacob has ran extremely well this season, he scored a podium at Russia, and Ben scored significant points in his first race, and who could forget his masterful drive at Decatur last year in an E231?"
Jacob Eichholtz was asked about the full-time bid for next season. "I hope it's a possibility," Eichholtz stated, "I feel like I'm in the prime of my career. I would like to stay with this team, but if we can't get on the grid then I may look for a full-time ride elsewhere. I feel like I've done extremely well in my Master Cup appearances to warrant at least a serious look from another team." Eichholtz stated he's willing to go to any team, regardless of politics.
When asked what he would do in 2013 if he could not get a full-time drive, Eichholtz responded hastily. "TM Lights."

Pushanda in a competitve car in 2013?
Vijay Pushanda may be a stereotypical "pay driver," however he has shown flashes of driving ability. Finishing 11th in the 2011 Round of Japan and scoring more points than his teammate in 2012, has lead to Channel 44 commentator, Dan Mullen, to call him a, "revelation." He has been driving a Tutino which has been ridiculed for being uncompetitive. We have heard that Pushanda may be going to teams up the grid, such as Star Team Nemoto, Mitchell & Sons, or James Dalton Racing.

Delgado Plans on Launching MRD Bid for Grid Spot in 2013 if Not Renewed at Nemoto
Even though he's not at the Round of Michigan due to a back injury, Tom Delgado is still making news. He told a local New York radio station that if he is not retained by Star Team Nemoto for 2013, he will launch a bid to get MRD Motorsports on the full time grid.
"I do want to stay in the Master Cup Series in 2013 and beyond. Preferably with Star Team Nemoto, but if things don't work out as far as me staying, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will throw every last cent I have into getting MRD Motorsports onto the full time grid for 2013" Delgado said in an interview just days before he's scheduled to undergo minor surgery on his back.
When asked who he would have drive what would be the second MRD car, Delgado would only throw a few names out there. "Of course, I'd be in the first car. The second car, we're looking at several options. Morgan (Hamburg) would definitely be in the mix because he's done a good job in his independent's trophy runs for us this season. Ashley Tucker would also be considered since she's my fiancee and all, and she'd yell at me for not considering her. However, she has a contract with Riggs Motorsports in ARLA, so I'm not sure how likely that would be. First thing's first though, we have to see where my future with Star Nemoto or another team lies" Delgado added.

Matthews hopeful for 2013 ride, possibly for own team?
During the run-up to the Round of Michigan weekend, Ryan Matthews was asked about his prospects for the 2013 season.
"I'm hopeful that someone will give me a look," he said, referring to the rumors that his tenure at Majestic Motorsports will be short-lived. "I know I haven't exactly set the world on fire, but what rookie does? I mean, it would be disappointing if I don't get at least one offer this off-season. But that's out of my hands."
He was also asked about his own team, Matthews Motorsports, and its plans.
"I don't know yet," he said. "We're hoping to get accepted for Indy and Decatur as a one-off entry. After that, who knows."
Is an Independent's Trophy run possible?
"Again, who knows," he said. "A lot of things that we decide to do as a team are going to hinge on what I do. So I can't really go into any further detail than that."
He was also asked about wife Tiffany's status, as the current ARLA and TM Lights driver might be in line for any prospective Independent's Trophy seat if he catches on with one of the regular teams.
"I can't speak for her, but I don't think she's ready yet," he said. "I'd rather she do what she's doing now, to be honest. But if some team up here comes calling, I'm not going to tell her she can't listen to what they have to say."

Tyson Lautenschlager Job Hunting?
It's well known in the ARLA garage that Karl, Inc. (the team Tyson Lautenschlager is currently contracted with) is looking to be absorbed by an existing team in the ARLA garage leaving Lautenschlager worried about his ride.
"I've got quite a few starts in the TM Master Cup Series with Tutino and Greg Whittaker Racing so the TMMC certainly is an option. I wouldn't be opposed to racing here at all in anything but the TMMC and ARLA are my top preferences."

Olenick Looking at Options in Cup?
Joe Olenick has had no trouble making a name for himself in his brief racing career, and despite not being approved for the Karjala Grand Prix (a call he later admitted was the right one), Olenick is hopeful for a shot at the 2013 grid. He admitted, however, that he doesn't want to be "rushed" into the series.
"If a team were to sign me, I'd honestly think it would be a disservice to sign me as a full-time driver. I'd rather be a reserve driver or on an Independent's team until I can get more experience."
It is well known that Olenick is looking for a full-time ride in ARLA, but he has stated that if none of those series pan out he will be "happy to stay in the ASCC"

Cynon wrote:"Time for a change of scenery, you know?" Roderick said.
"I've got two or three good offers on the table, but I think in a few of those occasions I'd be kind of walking into a team that's formed around someone else."
Plissken to Roderick: "PSI a Different Type of Operation"
Kurt Plissken has been trying to recruit Leonid Roderick to PSI for a while now. But it seems Roderick is hesitant to enter "into a team that's formed around someone else."
"I'd just like to tell him that things are different here," Plissken stated. Besides, this isn't my team, it's William Power's. He's not a typical owner-- he has more patience than most and favors the long term over the short. He's cultivated an atmosphere where you're not always looking over your shoulder and in fear of being yanked for every little thing that goes wrong. He offers one thing "Hot Rod" won't get anywhere else-- autonomy. Leonid will be free to do his own thing here. Hopefully, he won't be able to pass up his opportunity at this level of freedom."
Cynon wrote:What wasn't confirmed is whether Tonare would stick with PSI or go with another team.
"Does it have to be either/or?" said a perplexed William Power. "This looks like a prime opportunity for Tonare to expand it's presence in this series and beyond."
Cynon wrote:Reports are that Roderick could bring the current Inglesby Sonicboom design with him to another team.
When asked if PSI would switch to the Inglesby Sonicboom in order to lure free agent Leonid Roderick, PSI owner William Power had this to say, "Fool me once... I'm not falling into that trap again like we did last year with the James Dalton fiasco. We've spent considerable time and expense in developing the Thunderbolt and I'd hate to just flush it all away. But in this business, I've learned to leave as many options open as possible."
PSI used the Inglesby Flashback up to 2009 before switching to the JD Predator-- which it also had a hand in developing. Kurt Plissken scored his only Master Cup victory in 2009 when he won the Round of Indianapolis driving the Spark Boy Inglesby Flashback.

Wernström officially announce intention to enter 2013 TM Master Cup season full-time
Fort Wayne, Indiana - Today, Gerhard Pietsch announced that Wernström Motorsport GmbH would be one of the prospective teams seeking an entry in the 2013 TM Master Cup season. Said Pietsch, "Despite our rather disastrous debut at Karjala, it has to be said, the management at Wernström has been pleased with the progress we have made in testing with the 256, and have confirmed our budget for next year. As such, I am pleased to announce that Wernström Motorsport will be able to contest a full TM Master Cup season next year, should our application be accepted."
Pietsch went on to state that the team cannot confirm any drivers at this time, though should Friedrich Jaeger be approved by the officials for full-time competition, he would definitely get one of the seats. He remained cagey about who else he was considering, only that 'drivers with significant oval experience and success will have a big boost'. Pietsch also encouraged prospective drivers to get in touch with him, should they be interested in a seat.

Steudler looking for big time ride in 2013?
After being booted from Mitchell & Sons Racing for breaking with the MCMA and going to race at Michigan, Scott Steudler has been rumored to be looked at by a few teams for a ride in 2013. When asked about it, he said.
"Yes, I am in talks with quite a few teams for 2013. Hopefully, my hot start before all that happened with the MCMA should attract some teams into signing me."
As of now, Steudler is in a part time deal with Scuderia Tutino, but it is expected he will not race for them in 2013. It is also a safe bet that Steudler is not being looked at by any team that participated in the Michigan boycott.

Ben Atkins hoping for a full time bid in 2013
Ben Atkins, who is currently a driver in the Independent's Trophy and in ARLA hopes to have a team pick him up for the TM Master Cup series full time in 2013. Atkins' best finish in TM Master Cup comes in the prestigious Round of Decatur, where in 2011 he finished 5th on debut. He also holds over 10 Dash Cup wins, and a Dash Cup title to his name, as well as a best finish of 5th in ARLA at Daytona this year.
"I've come a long way as a driver" says Atkins. "I realised this when I got 5th at Decatur last year. It's sometimes overwhelming that I have already had the success I have, with my own Dash Cup team, which has now come together with Eichholtz, and having the opportunity to be in the Independent's Trophy and actually be relatively competitive. It's unbelievable."
When asked about his preferences as to what team he would like to go to, Atkins laughed a little and said; "Well, the obvious thing to say is Eichholtz Atlantic Racing, if we get accepted. Me and Eichholtz are good buddies, and it'd be nice to stay teammates to him, but honestly, I wouldn't mind what team I went to, as long as I could be competitive with the greats, that would do me fine."
Atkins was then asked about his plans if his bid is unsuccessful; "I'd return to Dash Cup. I remembered how much I loved racing in the series this year. I mean, ARLA is a really fun series to race in, but I'm more of a road racer at heart, and that's the racing that appeals to me. Don't get me wrong, I love racing on ovals too, especially the larger ones, but I love roadies too."
Atkins' next appearance in the TM Master Cup this year will be a Quebec, where he is hoping he can take his #56 Ricky and Lewis' car to at least a top 10, setting his standards high for the future, as he says it's "the only way to progress his career as a successful race car driver."

TM Lights Team seeking to enter Independent Trophy entry in 2013
Great Lakes Motorsports, which currently fields two TM Lights entries and a part-time ARLA Elite Series entry, is looking to enter an entry into the Independent Trophy in 2013.
The entry if accepted would carry HP Engineparts as its sponsor and would be driven my GLM's Ryan Griffin. However, what make the team would run is TBD.

Davison looking for Independents Trophy run in 2013
Current TM Lights driver James Davison has said that he is making a plan to run for the Independents Trophy in 2013. Davison has also stated that if he does get chance to do so, he will still run full time in the TM Lights regardless of what he does and if possible, some team may make an interest in putting him in their full-time driving line up for next season. Davison also says that his current sponsors Kyran Engineering, and Rightway Zero may stay with him and his team as well next year.

PACKER OPEN TO ALL OPTIONS FOR 2013
The first half of 2012 has been a struggle to say the least for Volpi driver Packer Carroll, and now, unless he, at the very least, gets a win this season, which would be his maiden win, he might not be resigned with Volpi, and that has Packer assessing his options.
PACKER: I would love to stay with Volpi. The alliance between out teams has been very beneficial for both of us, and I would hate to see it end this way, but if push comes to shove, then I guess I'll be shopping around for a new ride, but I'm also open to the idea of Gravity Racing, Inc. making the jump to the Cup series, as crazy as it sounds, because I know that were gonna need some heavy backing for that to happen. I'll even consider joining forces with a Cup team to make it possible.
If my team can't go full-time, we'll try to at least get an Independents Trophy bid, which we've been lobbying to get for the past few years. If all else fails... then I guess I'll drop back down to TM Lights or ARLA.

Carcia-Aragon to Independence Trophy Contention?
Carcia-Aragon Motorsports is looking into their options of having a team go in as an independence trophy team for 2013. They have given official word that Nikos Kastapolous, their current ARLA driver, will stay in the series next year, however there are options available in current full time PCC Cup drivers including Fazi D'Annenzo of Italy, Gavriella Apollou of Cyprus, and Gavin DeGray of the United States. DeGray is currently looking for a part time ride in ARLA at best, so it looks like the most credible move for CAM is that DeGray will take a part time ride in ARLA and an independence trophy ride in the Master Cup Series next year.
Ironic Debt Reductors, Inc, who has and will sponsor the one off entry endeavors for Nikos Kastapolous this year has agreed to sponsor the team if they can snag an independents trophy postition.

Keatons set sights on Cup racing
Cody Keaton has made quite a bit of noise in his eventful open-wheel career, and with the support of his team owner and father, well-known ARLA engineer Jeff Keaton, he now wishes to make the transition to stock car racing.
And what better place to start than in the biggest series in the world?
A recent press release by Quantum KeaTech, the team jointly owned by Jeff Keaton and the Quantum Corporation, states, "We are doing everything in our power to prepare an entry for the 2013 TM Master Cup Series season. We are confident that Mr. Cody Keaton can succeed behind the wheel of a Quantum-powered machine in the series."
Cody Keaton himself said, "Going Cup racing would be a great change of pace for me. My driving style would fit so well with those cars."
It is not known if Quantum and the Keatons are pursuing a full two-car effort, or an Independence Trophy bid solely for Cody.
It should be worth noting that most of Keaton's fellow competitors in Formula Overdrive may be overjoyed if he departs for a Cup ride.

Big Mac Racing and Thomas Moore Wish to Return in 2013
As the title of the rumor states, Thomas Moore and Big Mac Racing owner, Thomas Mac, wish to return to run for the Independent's Trophy in 2013. While the team has only made one of their attempts thus far, the team is excited for the future. Thomas Mac stated, "If the series will have us back, I would be very pleased. I think Thomas is ready to extend his talents and develop into a more well rounded driver. He says he would love to come back and run for the team again... However if he is offered a full time ride, we are happy to let him go take that opportunity."
Tom Moore Eyes Full Time Opportunity
Tom Moore. current driver for Big Mac Racing, has found a lot of recent success in his #52 Lycoia. He has placed 2nd in his last two runs at Michigan and Ohio. He hopes by doing this, he attracted the attention of some of the full time team owners as a dark horse pick. Moore said, "I'd love a full time drive next year. That has been my dream since I first got into racing. If I go the Independent's Trophy route again next year, I'd be completely fine, but it's be nice to be in the race every round."

Rossini Sport in partnership to attempt 2013 TM Master Cup debut
Alessandro Rossini has confirmed "Rossini Sport are planning to enter the 2013 TM Master Cup championship." Rossini, who ran with Corsa part time during the 2009 championship, claimed he is in the process in signing a major Italian tuning company to aid development of the chassis.
"I can't tell you who as of yet, but that we are in talks with a very professional outfit to help us in the build up to 2013," said the young owner/driver, "however we cannot assure of an entry to the 2013 season, and therefore we also plan for the project to be released commercially in the USA and Italy. We have sent our application, but whether it is accepted or not, who knows."
Rossini Sport, who recently sold 35% of their team to new title sponsor Black Bull Energy yesterday, have also confirmed Rossini will fill their primary seat, should their application be accepted, but will also pair with a young American to attempt the season alongside the Italian. "Alessandro will be driving," 52 year old Romano Rossini claimed, "however it will be an American to partner him. If our seat is accepted, we will be evaluating the options then, but for now our focus is on the chassis and engine development."

FTR Hopes to Keep Savin for 2013, Bidding for a Full Time Ride
So far, in two Independent's Trophy races this season, Danny Savin has placed the Full Throttle Racing number 81 in the top ten in both events. And after those two performances, it was no surprise that team owner Mide Rider said he would love to retain Savin for 2013, "Myself along with the whole team are very impressed with Savin thus far, and I would love to keep him. However, if he finds a better opportunity, we won't deny him of it."
Rider also stated, if they finish their IT campaign well enough, he would love to attempt to get a full-time slot, "Every team owner dreams of having a team in the Cup series, and I would love to have a full-time spot next year if possible."

Ex Michael Sykes team mate looking for a 2013 ride?
Ben Hurran, Michael Sykes's team mate in the BTCC from 1990-1993, is rumored to be looking into a switch from rallying to the TM Master Cup. Ben competed in the BTCC winning the championship 1997 and would also take the 2001 British Thundercars title, he then ran in rallying championships but he is now looking to move on. "I have been looking to move away from rallying now as the new rules for 2013 look like they will ruin the excitement that the cars give" said Hurran recently,"I have seen how well Sykes has done in the TM Master Cup and it has enticed me closer to this series.""I am not particularly fussed what car or team I drive for, I would just like a chance to see what the cars are like and to see how well I can do in this series, a competitive car would be nice but we don't know how any one is going to perform yet"." I would welcome any offers and it would be greatly appreciated, I will also try and get a drive together for Indy and see how it goes from there".

The Prodigal Requests Return
"As I'm sure some have heard from the ARLA press conference, I'm finally back to full time racing and medically cleared. I've already requested entry into ARLA and am requesting to TMMC officials about entry as well. If my entries are denied, then of course I'll be looking for a ride. I do prefer to go full time. I'm heavily funded and sponsored. More news to follow about details of that aspect. I know I don't necessarily have a great history in these series, but, I have matured. I've gotten better. I'm here to stay. If anyone is interested in signing me, you know how to find me. If you don't, look for TD or Snake. Looking forward to being on the track again. See you all out there."

PSI Could Use an Infusion of Sponsorship Money
With Kleffer Media more than likely leaving at season's end because of the Anthony Griffith saga, PSI may be looking for a driver with attachments to some deep pockets. "Right now, our main goal is to just get Leonid Roderick interested. Period. Hopefully, we'll have a much clearer picture of what Roderick's mind set will be after his scheduled Indy visit with us," stated PSI owner William Power.
"Of course, we'll have to make other arrangements if Leonid chooses to go elsewhere. We're reviewing our options, but objective number one is to secure the services of the incomparable Leonid Roderick. It's our biggest priority."
When pressed about who's on his short list, Power balked at naming names. "Right now, we have Anthony Griffith on our team and that's where my focus is. He's made some remarkable strides lately. I've been really pleased with his performance both on and off the track lately. He's matured a great deal and if not for some shoddy pit work, he may have had a podium. Maybe the bridge has been burned with him and maybe it hasn't. Joel Rodriguez reemerging from the abyss has tongues wagging all over the paddock too. That Gordon Sting kid seems to win no matter what kind of series he's in. Couple that with Brown Hornet Music's backing and it makes an attractive package deal," confessed Power. "Oops. Looks like I did name some names after all. But those names mentioned are just some of the available, not necessarily who we are looking at," chuckled Power. "On a serious note, Scott Steudler needs some serious consideration as well, no matter what Kurt says. But I think we're small potatoes compared to what he's used to."

Launch Energy Confirms 2013 Grid Position with Davenport Driving
Before the Round of Ohio, Launch Energy confirmed that they had sealed their own grid position with Chris Davenport as the driver. No chassis or car numbers were confirmed for the new Launch Motorsports entry, but reports are that they could continue the Inglesby Sonicboom project and could comprise largely of FLASH Racing crew members. It is not known if Launch will acquire the intellectual property to a chassis that is currently running or if they will make their own.
Davenport, 26, will run for Rookie of the Year in 2013 and is the only confirmed rookie for next season. Despite having made a handful of TM Master Cup series starts, Davenport has never made enough of them in a season to invalidate his rookie status.
Andrews Expects Less Than 30 Cars in 2013, But Increased Opportunities for Independents
TM Master Cup Series pundit Lance Andrews stated during practice for the Round of Ohio that he would be "surprised" if the full-time grid consisted of 30 cars for the 2013 season. "I can imagine there being only 12 teams in the series running full-time." Despite such bleak predictions, Andrews did say that he felt the opportunity for a credible Independent's Trophy campaign was there.
"The Independent's Trophy opportunities will increase quite substantially. There could be as many as 8 or 9 Independent's Trophy cars in each race! That's one hell of an opportunity for guys like Bolden or Wernstrom to test their machinery out and get their name out. Considering that the number of races an Independent can run next season might go up to 6 or 7, I'd imagine that could really make the Independent's Trophy attractive next season."

Steudler open to a PSI ride if offered
Despite some early season critizism of an incident that seemed to land Scott Steudler on some "lists" of Kurt Plissken's and PSI fans, when asked about the one rumor of Steudler being on the short list for a ride at PSI, Steudler was open to the idea.
"Yes, we have had some disagreements here and there, but Kurt (Plissken) is a hell of a competitor, and I do have some respect for him as such. If PSI were to offer me a ride for next season, I would strongly consider it. PSI is a good operation, and I wouldn't object to going there if the oppoturnity presents itself."
There has also been a report of an offer already being given to Steudler from another team, though it is unknown at this moment who that team is, but Steudler would only say that he is still exploring his options for 2013.

Carcia-Aragon Confirms Attempt for the Independent's Trophy
Spokesmen for Carcia-Aragon Motorsports have confirmed that they will be looking for a spot in the Independent's trophy with the same #720 Ironic Debt Reductors, Inc. car that attempted the Karjala Grand Prix and is looking to attempt the Decatur finale this season.
"We are waiting until the schedules for ARLA and TMMC for 2013 come out to decide whether we want Nikos Kastapolous (their only full time driver in ARLA currently) or Gavin DeGray (currently a rookie in the PCC Cup Series with decent success, also attempting for a part time ARLA ride next year) to run the car. Right now those appear to be the only viable options for us unless our other PCC drivers can step it up. Nevertheless, with the increased opportunity for the Independent's trophy, we want to find ourselves in the TM Master Cup in 2013."

Leonard Could Move to Team Ownership?
Scattered reports indicate that Marcos Leonard could bring Fluffy Penguin Onionburger to the TM Master Cup Series. Whether Leonard would continue driving or not has been hotly debated, as he has successfully coached Sealandic driver Ebenezer Quiggles, Jr. over the past few seasons. Leonard himself has not had much success in the 2012 TM Master Cup series campaign.

Leckliter return for next year pretty much confirmed
After having more of a better TMMC season than what he had in the past, Daniel Leckliter's Independent's Trophy campaign will make a return in 2013. He's not interested in a full time slot this year, as he has ARLA commitments, and because of that, Leckliter is also not doing any overseas races, including Karjala. The Lycoia Brute is going to return to the team as well next year. Sponsors are TBA, but there's rumors that it's either YNC Worldwide, his ARLA sponsor, Scrubbles Cleaning products, or the NHL team the Buffalo Sabres.

Leonard Reforms FPO in TM Master Cup Series
Current Xenos Racing driver Marcos Leonard announced that Fluffy Penguin Onionburger (commonly called FPO) Motorsports has lodged an entry for the 2013 TM Master Cup series season. Leonard did not name any drivers or chassis for his Master Cup effort, but some speculation has him possibly stepping out of the cockpit in favor of Sealandic ARLA driver Ebenezer Quiggles, Jr.
"Frog, while in earnest wariness, never homebrews petabytes of setosa monkeys. Hubris such as that can unfairly replicate the mission of the plastic vineyards." Leonard said to the press. He elaborated that he still intended to take FPO to the TM Master Cup Series, even if it was an Independent's Trophy outfit.
"Experience beer is not a efficient label of predicting descriptions for labelling alcoholic solids. We have done what trees decide based on stunted regression of advancements in the cows."

Gerald Lamb to take a backseat at TIM, James Lanson to become full team owner in 2013. Plus, factory team status to move elsewhere?
After the controversy over the pullout and subsequent re-entry of the Round of New York, it was announced that Gerald Lamb would retire from the top spot of the team to take a more backseat role. James Lanson, the grandson of the late Eugene Lanson, will take over the top spot come the 2013 season.
It was also rumored that the Interceptor, which is the Research and Development chassis driven by Terra International, would be redesigned and possibly head to another team... Greg Woodard would most likely be moved to the team that Interceptor goes to. The team with the Interceptor would receive factory team status plus all the other benefits.
Currently, there are several teams interested in acquiring the Interceptor for use in 2013. The list of the teams has not been finalized or permitted for release until later in the year. Terra International Motorsports would most likely remain on the Independent's Trophy team list if the Interceptor and Woodard are moved to another full time team. Rumors are that Nick Dawson, Sarah Xaiver, or Sakura Motoko are on the team's driver list for 2013. Depending on what happens, the results will be known before the Round of Brazil or NY.

Rossini Sport lodges for Independence Trophy spot
The Italian owned Formula Overdrive team, Rossini Sport, have thrown a bid toward TM Master Cup officials for an Independence Trophy spot on the grid in 2013. Romano Rossini, who formerly made the attempt for a full time grid spot, has stated that "[Rossini Sport] will be applying for the Independence Trophy. We have an engine supplier lined up, and we have a chassis developed. Alessandro [Rossini] is prepared for a return in the TM Master Cup. Everyone is ready."
It is believed Rossini Sport will be supplied Motori Lombardia, who will be supplying their engines in the 2013 Formula Overdrive championship. Romano Rossini also stated that the team will be running under the title 'FIAM', who develop their chassis, should they be granted a position into the 2012 TM Master Cup series.

The Avenger Back at Nemoto, Teammate Undecided
The Avenger will be back at Star Team Nemoto, according to a report made by Lance Andrews during qualifying for the Round of Wisconsin. Star Team Nemoto opted to take up the option on Kingston, which will see him back behind the wheel of the #17 Nemoto.
Kingston's regular teammate, Tom Delgado, has had a dramatic season, and it isn't known if the moody but quick New Yorker will return to Star Team Nemoto or retire from full-time driving. Star Nemoto Racing owner Takumi Katashima called Delgado a "friend and strong business partner" during practice for the Round of Wisconsin.
However, there are reports that Yamino Tenchi, Chris Johaanes, Zelda Ashby, Mika Paasonen, Greg Woodard, and Melanie Clevenot have either been contacted about the second Nemoto seat or are on the short list for it, should Delgado retire.
Katashima did not comment to rumors that Delgado could start a satellite team with himself and Scott Steudler as the drivers.
Assuming Kingston doesn't win the 2012 Driver's Championship or Yamino Tenchi or Zelda Ashby sign for Star Nemoto Racing, the second car will carry #18.

Graphite Max a potential sponsor in 2013?
It seems that Terra International Motorsports and Graphite Max are closing at a possible sponsorship deal for 2013. The team told reporters that they would be excited to have such a vibrant company aboard their entry or entries come 2013. It is unknown who would sponsor the soft drink brand, but rumors are that Woodard or another driver may drive the car if the deal can be closed.
However, there are rumors that the sponsor may stick with one driver if they happen to leave the team. But that's unconfirmed at the moment.

BREAKING NEWS - Tom Delgado to Retire From Full-Time Competition After 2012
In a decision that has been eating at him for weeks, Tom Delgado finally made the announcement that he had been dreading. Delgado has decided to retire from full-time competition at the end of the 2012 season. He formally announced his intentions at a hastily-arranged press conference after practice for the Round of Wisconsin had ended. With his fiancee Ashley Tucker at his side, Tom Delgado made the announcement that had been held off for as long as possible.
"I've been pulled both ways over the past few weeks, with my friends and family towing both sides of the fence. However, over the past few days, I've had the opportunity to think about my career and my life. I discussed this with Ashley (Tucker), and we both think it's for the best that I start to slow down and retire from full time competition" Delgado said with tears quickly welling up in his eyes.
"It's been one crazy trip this season, a lot of stuff has happened as far as my health and my performance. Star Team Nemoto deserves better than I could give them at this point, and I do not want to stand in Katashima-san's way of hiring someone who can do better than me. Speaking of Katashima-san, he's the first person I want to thank for giving me a chance to save my career in 2010, and for keeping the faith in me whenever I've been such a colossal asshole. Any other team owner would have gotten rid of me and probably sued to get their money back. I also want to thank all the teammates I've ever had, and all the people I've ever worked for in my career. I know I burned a lot of bridges in my career, and I sincerely hope that there are no hard feelings, and if there still are, all I can keep saying is that I'm sorry. Finally, to all the fans out there, I'm sorry I could never meet your expectations, but I hope I've entertained you in some way during my career. Thank you for putting up with me for the past few years, and it's been my pleasure to try and put on a good show" Delgado said, pausing almost every minute to wipe tears away from his eyes.
When asked about a potential 2013 Independent's Trophy campaign, Delgado refused to comment. "Today's not the day for that" is all Delgado would say before walking away from the podium with his fiancee. Delgado, 38, leaves full-time Master Cup competition with two wins, both coming in 2011. He retires as one of the few to win in both the TM Master Cup Series & the ARLA Elite Series.

Thomas Deitrich to Run for Independent's Trophy?

Roderick Denies He's Chosen His 2013 Home
It's been a busy few weeks for Leonid Roderick. He's visited the shops of Volpi Racing Team, Power Steering Incorporated, and has also heard an offer from Launch Racing for the 2013 season. However, the 4-time champion denied that he's chosen where he wants to drive next season.
"I'm going to race in the environment that would be best for me." Roderick said.
"I'm not going to just ride out the rest of my career like some people might... I think I can win that 5th and 6th championship in the right environment, you know?"
Roderick, 35, did not respond to comments about him potentially retiring when he reaches age 40.
"Ask me when I'm 40. Frankly, I don't know, it depends on if I'm still at the top of my game then... but being recognized as the oldest ever Driver's Champion doesn't sound like a bad deal, does it?"
Ebenezer Quiggles, Jr. to FPO for 2013 in car #99
Fluffy Penguin Onionburger, Incorporated confirmed before the Round of Indianapolis that ARLA standout Ebenezer Quiggles, Jr. will drive one of its two cars. Quiggles, Jr. will drive car #99, and is already the first Sealander to drive a TM Master Cup car when he unsuccessfully attempted Decatur a few years ago.
Quiggles, Jr. and FPO, Inc. owner Marcos Leonard are both avid hockey fans. Quiggles, Jr.'s number choice is believed to originate from the number of hockey legend Wayne Gretsky.
Aperture Science to Sponsor Volpi in 2013
While the economy has been tough on many companies, applied science conglomorate Aperture Science, in conjunction with Volpi Racing Team, announced that it will be sponsoring all three VRT cars in the TM Master Cup series. Aperture Science indicated that it will make the Volpi cars distinguishable from each other and that the team cars will not have identical liveries, as some other teams have done.
Lyons Back in TM Master Cup Series?
Reports are that Paul Lyons, who has driven the recalcitrant Team Burr cars in the ARLA Elite Series in 2012, could be back in the TM Master Cup series.
Independent's Trophy Cars to Carry Distinctive Numbers?
A rumor sweeping throughout the paddock is that Independent's Trophy cars will be given special numbers in order to help with fan identification. The most talked about possibilities are that the Independent's Trophy cars could carry numbers 800-899, or that they could even be assigned numbers by the TM Master Cup series officials.
Officials did confirm that there would be at least six Independent's Trophy cars on the grid instead of just four. The number of races for an Independent's Trophy car is expected to stay at four, but teams will be informed in time for the 2013 season.
Independent's Trophy Cars to Get Midseason Exhibition Race?
Reports are brewing that the TM Master Cup Series may hold a race for Independent's Trophy cars only. It would likely be a non-championship event that takes place as a support race for the TM Master Cup series race, possibly at a venue where pit space is limited.
