IndyCar @ Sao Paolo
Thought I'd kick this thread off because there actually is news here. Early in the year IndyCar announced that only 26 cars would be allowed to race in Brazil and China. I recall saying that I'd be surprised if IndyCar actually followed through with that.
Guess what?
They didn't.
All 26 cars that participated in the first three races will be in attendance plus a fourth Andretti Autosport car driven by Ana Beatriz.

Well I think we know which F1 veteran is coming back to his home country for some IndyCar now don't we? Can't wait for it!
Re: IndyCar @ Sao Paolo
I figured they wouldn't, considering that in some races last year there were races with as many as five cars more than there were supposed to be.

Bia in good equipment? This is one to watch. Indycar has a recent history of female drivers, but the only two in the series right now are in Lotuses, so it's hard to gague how fast they are.
Re: IndyCar @ Sao Paolo
So Andretti will have four this week, and then 5-6 at Indy, depending if they do another deal with the King and John Andretti. It's weird, they have an armada of teams, but can't do anything with them.

Re: IndyCar @ Sao Paolo
Bryan Herta's team has voluntarily withdrawn from Sao Paolo, meaning that 26 cars will start.
Can't blame them, this year's already been pretty expensive for that bunch...

Dumbest rule in the history of mankind.
Anyways, I'd say good win, Will Power, but the way this season's gone so far, I'm gonna hold off on that.

This is what was exactly said: "Today is the day to resolve TURBOGATE! I hope (at)indcar gets their act together. It has been embarrassing."
What a joke.

Tony Kanaan's team also was fined this week. It was something with the wrong fuel tank size, but IndyCar decided to be NASCAR for the millionth time and did not announce the amount fined.

...and I'm sure it was all a mistake. We didn't know it was the wrong size! Honest! You have any idea how much speed you gain with less weight in an IndyCar?
About the owner of Panther Racing... well... LOLOLOLOL. There's a reason I don't like Panther Racing (has nothing to do with the sponsor, has everything to do with Panther being the Gainsco of Indycar) and a reason Scott Goodyear takes jabs at them occasionally (at Milwaukee I think he said that John Barnes is very "tough" to drive for... Goodyear-English for "he can be a real dick")!
There's a difference between voicing an opinion that is contrary to what the officials have, and then there's bringing the sport into disrepute.
This is having an opinion contrary to the officials but still keeping the sport reputable;
Hey that dickhead wrecked me, and I thought he should have been penalized for unsportsmanship.

If I was a series official I would slap you with a fine if you gave me the second one. In F1 the teams have so much money that they don't care, but in pretty much every other sport or game, that rule applies. You badmouth the credibility of the officials, you get fined.
Do not bite the hand that feeds you.

I have to agree with what Cynon said about the whole deal.
Speaking of the subject, IndyCar really isn't screwing around at all. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/99250

Entertaining race. Other people in the field need to step up their game to beat Will Power.

Very solid race. Good to see Sato getting the finish he deserves this time around.
Too bad Ana plowed into Carpenter because he was having a respectable run most of the day.

They never said it was too small though, it could have been too big and given them more fuel mileage. I was pointing out the fact that IndyCar didn't have the guts to announce the amount fined though.
Overall a decent race, wish Sato could have gotten up on Will and Hunter-Reay though and pass them.

I disagree with this statement because of three little words...
Freedom of speech. That is all.
Besides, if the hand that fed me actually slapped me, I would do more than bite it off.
