My copy of NR2003 just came in. I'm going to put all my questions in this thread.

1st: Anything I need to do before installing it. I run Windows 7.

Nope, if you torrented it and used no-cd patch, then you really don't need anything.

It works fine with Windows 7, it'll most likely start with compatibility mode on for Windows XP sp2, I would run the game as admin, and download the patch from the internet *not the actual updater*

It runs excellently, well, it did until my HDD crashed *cries*

You probably should also disable DEP

Hope that link works, URL looked odd on my iPad. If it doesn't, just google "nr2k3 disabling DEP".

It works great. I'll be putting all of my questions in here. I'm still trying to get accustomed to the game. Right now I'm kind of like Steve Wallace.

Alright. I just downloaded the 2010 TM Masters Cup Series carset. How do I put it in the game?

extract the car files to the cars folder in your cup folder.

It shows as 2010 Carset, but none of the cars show. Just the 03 cars.

Are you saying that none of the cars are in the folder or are you saying you see a list named 2010 carset without any cars?

Case 1: You downloaded a folder without any files

Case 2: You need to go to opponent manager and select each car out of a list of default cup cars, those nice little backmarkers and the cars you downloaded, find the cars and save them to a list named 2010 carset, and then click show active drivers to ensure you have all the correct drivers.

Once your done checking the carset and correcting any numbered vehicles, make sure you don't have the 86 of Fred Jones (The default 'player' car) part of the list, save the list again after everything is correct, then go to single race (or championship, it doesn't really matter)

When choosing a list in single race, once you have a track, hit the options button, and then select the options you want, including changing the default list to the 2010 carset.

Then click start.

Now, if you want to run just an AI race:

DO NOT HIT DRIVE, instead in the race menu, hit the little play buttons under the replay screen, usually I skip practice and head straight to qualifying, use the accelerate button to speed up the process, then go to race, accelerate until you see the start time within a few seconds (30 if you're patient enough) and enjoy the race.

Oh, you should select a car that isn't the player's own, it'll still show up, but I would select an AI car with either a TV1 or TV2 camera at the start.

Enjoi.

Disregard. I installed the patch, downloaded the Busch Series mod, then extracted the car files to the gns car folder. But thanks anyway.

If you are into a more "arcade" fun (aka you're bored one night and don't feel like serious racing), I'd suggest Stuntrack, Destruction Arena, Monsturd Truck Rally, and Talladega Hump.

I like clean racing as much as anyone else, but some annihilation is always fun Twisted Evil

BoneCrusher, ingame Bristol, and Grand Detour 1970 take the cake for annihilation.

Yes, ingame Bristol. Remember the TM Lights and TM Junior races last year? The ones that had < 10 cars finishing and with people finishing behind cars that had crashed out?

Yeah. Ingame Bristol with 110% AI and no INI edits did that.

Yeah, I have a replay file that can prove that, i can't remember if it was the default cup cars and my own or the backmarker collection with the game and my own cars, but it was pretty bad.

Go to GameStop or your local game store. They should have wired XBOX 360 controllers that have USB connections.

I use a Logitech Precision d-pad, and I am competitive on road courses. It's not a controller for ovals or anything, unless you somehow learn to be competitive with it. But as Rykia said, you should buy a xbox controller. My family is not the richest to buy 60 bucks on a controller. I might ask my sister to get a wheel because she has superannuation coming in.

Are you running a demo version of the game? I read somewhere that there is a much lower limit to how many tracks and cars you put in the demo.

I have the full version. When ever I use WinRAR to extract something into the game, a window come up with the message "the system cannot find the path specified." Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

I usually don't extract files directly into the game folders. I extract them where I saved them on my drive, and then cut the exact folder I want and paste it into the game folder where I want it. Also, be careful of subfolders -some track makers will put the track folder (the one you need) inside another folder. When the game tries to read it, it doesn't see anything.

Oh another fail track:

Pocono, 110 percent strength AI, no matter if they are default cup cars or TMMC level cars, they all love to go 3-4 wide in the corners... which never works out Sad
