2012 Ratings Package
For those that don’t have NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, each AI car has its own set of ratings that determine how competitive the car is.
The rating categories used in ARLA are Driver and Car. Driver has 8 fields, and Car has 4:
Driver:
Aggression
Consistency
Finishing
Qualifying
Road Course
Short Track
Speedway
Superspeedway
Car:
Aerodynamics
Chassis
Engine
Reliability
The Driver ratings are sent in by the owner of the character, and the Car ratings are sent in by the owner of the team. Each car on a team will carry the same Car ratings.
ARLA will use a completely different ratings package in 2012, drawing inspiration from F-Zero.
There are 6 ratings to assign to each field, and each rating carries a numerical value:
A = 1
B = 2
C = 3
D = 4
E = 5
F = 6
Here are the MIN and MAX values for each rating:
A = 70-85
B = 60-75
C = 50-65
D = 40-55
E = 30-45
F = 0-35
You may assign ratings for the appropriate category (Driver or Car) at will, but there’s a catch: The total of the combined numerical values (1-6) of all of your ratings must be equal to or more than a certain number.
Here are the guidelines for Driver ratings (ARLA Regular = Driver who has never competed in TM Master Cup full-time):
ARLA Regular/One-off with no more than 1 victory: 22 Points or More
ARLA Regular/One-off with multiple victories: 21 Points or More
Current/Former TM Master Cup driver with no more than 1 Cup victory: 20 Points or More
Former TM Master Cup champion/multiple-time winner: 18 Points or More
Current TM Master Cup champion/multiple-time winner: 17 Points or More
Here are the guidelines for Car ratings (ARLA-exclusive = Team has no involvement with a full-time Cup driver or team):
ARLA-exclusive team with no more than 1 victory: 12 Points or More
ARLA-exclusive team with multiple victories: 11 points or More
Team is involved with/owned by a TM Master Cup driver: 10 Points or More
Team owned by a TM Master Cup team: 9 Points or More
Please check your math before sending me your ratings. Anyone who fails to send ratings gets all F’s, and will be stuck in battles with the likes of Derek Dudding and A.J. Young.
Pit crews will still be 0-100.

Yes. This ratings system is actually pretty simple and easy to get.
I'll send mind in when I have a computer available instead of a Droid.

Re: 2012 Ratings Package
Yeah, this isn't that hard. I'll show off my team as an example.
Car rankings first, since those are the same across teams. Since Matthews Motorsports would have been a new team, and so would have had to use at least 12 points for the car ratings. (That translates to mostly C's and D's - either straight D's, or some mix thereof.) But, since Ryan Matthews now has a Cup ride (and owns the team), the point requirement drops to 10. Yay for me, since my C's and D's are now B's and C's.
Driver rankings next: Ryan, as a newly-minted Cup driver needs 20 points. I can't give him straight-B's, since that's only 16 points. So I need to mix in some C's (four, to be exact) to get to 20. Tiffany, however, as an ARLA rookie needs 22. (I should note that defending champ Kevin Monroe needs 21.) Which means that I can use some B's, but I'd also need some C's and probably at least one D to get there. (Most of the other ARLA drivers, save maybe Joseph Howard and a couple others, will be in this range.)
So the final numbers could look like this:
Car - B/C/B/C, 10 points
Ryan - C/B/B/B/C/B/C/C, 20 points
Tiffany - D/C/B/B/C/B/C/C, 22 points
It's a different way of doing it, but it's not tough.
(OOC: Incidentally, these are the numbers I'm submitting. I'll have the cars posted in the Paint Shop tonight when I get home from work.)

I know of several ways of doing car points if you have 12, sure, you have to use an E or F, but they still work.
B/B/C/E 2+3+2+5 = 12 < Average Ratings, preferable to have if you want a moderately high reliability and horsepower. (Numbers I'm using)
A/C/C/E 1+3+3+5 = 12 < Horsepower is key, however everything else is average.
B/B/B/F 2+2+2+6 = 12 < Car either steers like a boat or you have you're a drag... man.
C/C/C/C 3+3+3+3 = 12 < Balance is good, maybe not the best option though.
A/C/D/D 1+3+4+4 = 12 < Careful where you put that A, it could determine the difference between success and failure.
A/B/C/F 1+2+3+6 = 12 < Decent Ratings, but something will have to be sacrificed for the greater good, what will it be?
Screw the Aero, I have Horsepower!
