Re: [VSCC] Race 7 - Karjala
- Spoiler:
That was a great battle between Maloy and Young. I was pulling for Young because it would have been a great story with Young losing his ride last season, but Maloy drove so well he deserved the win. They should widen the pits at Karjala.

- Spoiler:
- I'm going to have to agree with Ceej on this, this has been the second race this season with pit lane issues...

Alan Maloy Post-Race
Blake Young Post-Race
Alan Maloy Post-Race
- Spoiler:
- Maloy in Victory Lane
As Alan Maloy crossed the start/finish line at the world-famous Karjala Raceway, his radio was filled with cheers of extreme happiness. "Yes! YES! We did it! YES!" After completing his burnout near some of the most legendary camera angles on the track, Maloy took his #92 Delphi Saar to victory lane, where he was greeted by his teammate and boss James Proctor, along with fellow teammate Thomas Forester.
"What a win this was," Maloy said, clearly worn out. "I really had to work for that one, but this baby was a dream out there." Maloy told reporters, patting the roof of his race-winning car. "This is just proof that James Proctor Racing is good enough to win in this series, my teammates have had some rough luck, and our team has been up-and-down all season, and to win is just such a confidence boost. You really have no idea how important this win was."
"You know I really have to thank Delphi for supporting this #92 team this season, and really to James [Proctor] just for giving me this opportunity, and to win for him is the greatest feeling."
Blake Young Post-Race
- Spoiler:
- Young Takes 2nd Place at Karjala
Blake Young has had a tough season, he joined a new team before the start of the season, and coming into Karjala he had only 1 top-10 and 2 DNFs, but things changed instantly at Karjala. While not ever being known for his extraordinary road course abilities, Young qualified in 4th. Even though he struggled in both Practice and Happy Hour, the #43 Dave Smith Racing team had high hopes for Karjala.
"We had a great run, we stayed at the front all race, and got lucky with other people having issues that cost them a lot of positions, but we definitely deserved at least a top-5, and 2nd-place is still a great result."
Blake Young gained 9 positions in the point standings and is now 15th.
Re: [VSCC] Race 7 - Karjala
- Spoiler:
- Kenny Morales gets the motivation he needs.
After a 4th place finish at Karjala, Kenny Morales is now back in the points hunt.
"This is what we need to get back into contention, and with Japan coming up, we're focused on one thing, getting our second win"

- Spoiler:
- I'm going to stay out of this, but I would like to put in my two cents. I don't think the VSCC should be stripped of it's canon-status just because he's made a couple of mistakes. You didn't do that to CRL last year while he was struggling to post results for the CRL Modified Division, and I don't think you should do it here. Again I don't want to get involved in this, but I do wanna throw my opinion out there.
And back to the race...
- Spoiler:
- Bad Race for Durbin, Two In A Row
For the second week in a row, Ike Durbin collects his worst finish of the season. Last week, at the EuroSpeedway, Ike finished 30th. That WAS his worst finish of the year, until this week. Karjala has not been a good track for the driver of the 98, as he was involved in three wrecks at the track last season. Well, he didn't improve. Durbin was involved in three wrecks again, all of which he admitted fault to. When questioned, here is what he said. "The first one was a combination of things. There were cars wrecking in front of me, and I just lost focus. I wasn't watching what I was doing and spun off. The second one my car was just really loose from the previous spin, and I didn't think of that going into the turn. The one that really hurt us was the pit road incident, which was also my fault. I thought I was slowed down enough, but I wasn't, and ran into the pit wall. And then other cars must have had the same perception as me, because I did some barrel-rolls IN THE PITS!"

- I'm like Rykia, just tossing in my two cents on this, but even if Woody has had two fail races this year, doesn't mean the whole season is going to be fail...

Re: [VSCC] Race 7 - Karjala
- Spoiler:
- Woody, this is a suggestion, but how about you end this season and start off fresh next year with a clean slate. Maybe that way you can start the season earlier so you won't be running so late in the year and it'll give you more time to find the right "set-up" for the tracks. That's just my opinion.
Re: [VSCC] Race 7 - Karjala
- Spoiler:
- I honestly don't see what was so terrible about this race. I mean, of course we had some obvious pit-lane issues, but it was nothing compared to the failfest at Spa. I'm with Chives on this one, the series does have some problems, but I don't think it should be excluded from the canon. Maybe Woody should just take some time to see what works and what doesn't.
Although, one issue I've seen that really seems to kill the realism of the series is that it feels like nothing short of an atomic bomb will retire these cars. I've seen Tim Braudhead flip end-over-end down the track and land on his roof, and keep going. Not to mention when Ike Durbin's car slid into the lake at Mallory Park and he still managed to continue. I'm not really sure how to fix it, but Cy never seems to have that problem.

Last Row Autosport pulls out of vscc:
The owner of Last row autosport was caught mentioning that he didnt like the direction that the VSCC was heading in, and wanted to defect the VSCC entrys to the ASCC anyways, so we are pulling our entrys effective immediately.

James Proctor in Victory lane and on the radio
Alan: Yes! YES! We did it! YES!
Proctor: Oh my god, Karjala ?
Proctor: Awsome job guys, way to drive out there Alan.
[i]Unbelievable after so much bad luck this season to win here (ahhhh) is just awsome. That kid (Alan Maloy) can drive his but off, we just havent given him the cars his needed all year but today shows what talent he has.
Last year he tested my Karjala car and was fast in it so I knew he would be looking forward to coming back here and we expected him to run fairly well but to win? Just unbelievable.

Re: [VSCC] Race 7 - Karjala
Graham aggrivated with the talent in the field.
It was a rather easy day for Jessica Graham, all she had to do was simply not get involved in any mess and she'll finish well, despite that she was still annoyed at what she considered "lack of talent".
"I normally wouldn't speak about this but when you have so many cars pile up in pit lane it really is just stupid how anyone can pile into that, the fact that we had this more than once really makes it worse. It's really a bit aggrivating that our finish was mostly because a lot of other drivers forgot they had something called a brain. We had a great run today but I'm concerned that the way these people are driving could have very disasterous effects in the future."
SpeedSOS To pull out of VSCC at the end of the year.
It was clear that Graham wouldn't be returning to VSCC after taking up a ARLA contract for the team but now Aoi has made it clear that they wouldn't be returning to VSCC at all next, year.
"The management of this series don't know how to run this series, I don't want to have to worry so much about my drivers getting injured because of where this league is going. We really cant afford the risks in this series any more than needed so all we plan to do is just finish the year strong and put that money we poured into this team somewhere else after the year is done."
