Dash Cup and AmeriCar announce American Dash Cup Championship Series starting in 2020

In a press conference, Dash Cup and AmeriCar officials anounced a partnership for 2020 and beyond, establishing an american tour based around Dash Cup's ruleset. The Dash Cup America series had been rumoured for multiple years since the first worldwide forays of the series, including events in Japan, Canada and United States, ending their seasons at the New York Autoring and the New York Street Circuit.

The series will use the same cars as The Dash Cup Super Stocks, contesting events at road courses and speedways across the United States and Canada. Multiple teams that contested Dash Cup in the past are joining the America series in different capacities, as Matthews Motorsports (one half of the Matthews Atlantic Motorsports operation) estabilishes a secondary development team for the American tour, while Gabriel Macena (co-owner of Macena Carter Motorsports) also estabilishes a team, allying himself with AmeriCar's Ashcroft Racing Team.

The establishment of Dash Cup America also leads to a new Dash Cup Series being contested, as the Dash Cup Pickup Racing Series is formed, running select events together with the main DC America tour. Another of the companion tours for Dash Cup America will be the Overdrive Championship Series by Clartech, revived by the National Road Racing Club of America in 2018. The NRRC will also be the body sanctioning Dash Cup America across the pond.

Dash Cup America will be contested by 24 full-time cars, as 12 teams will be given full-time spots, with two full-time cars and an extra car to contest select events. The series also forms the Empire State Triple Crown, with three premiere events taking place in New York, two in the city, in Manhattan's Raceway Stadium and The Streets of New York, while the 500km Endurance Race will be contested in Watkins Glen. Those will be only events in the year where one-off teams will be able to be entered and contest qualifying, with reduced costs due to the smiliarities between ASCC and Dash Cup America equipment, it is expected that entry lists could be over 40 cars in total.

Here's a little surprise.

With the permission of Ben, I was able to get this idea (which we once came up years ago) off the ground.

Dash Cup America and Dash Cup Pickup Truck Series will be the only Dash Cup series being run in NR in 2020.

As mentioned in the opening post, entries can be inserted in all three of the series that will be run: Dash Cup America, Dash Cup Pickup Racing Series and Overdrive Championship Series.
While Dash Cup America will have conventional race reviews, I will follow the AmeriCar pattern and have single video season reviews for Overdrive and Pickups, so those videos won't come until later in the year.
